Sony PS4 (No Display, Faulty HDMI Port) Can I Fix It?

In this video, I've been sent a faulty PlayStation 4 which isn't displaying on the TV. Suspected faulty HDMI port.
I'll be attempting to replace the HDMI port. Wish me luck!
I've never repaired one before, Can I Fix It?

Its crazy how the production quality has increased from 2020 to 2022. When watching videos from 2021/2022 its then hard to go back to these, but still entertaining.

Fantastic video, was right their with you all the way, was a bit heart breaking when it didn't turn on after you re-flowed all the pin pads but then you figured it out, good to know that we need to check for continuity at the pad and not the pin, I want to start doing this level of repair after watching your videos!

Yes, it's perfectly obvious when you think about it, but it just didn't click when I was doing it. I'm really pleased with this fix, I reckon I'd be able to do it again much easier next time. Which is why I set this channel up. I want to learn!!

Would of thought they would of secured the hdmi ports much better seems like a oversight on the way it's made 🙊 excellent job dealing with all them pins I don't think I could ever do such a touchy repair.

looking back on this video, you must be pretty embarrassed to know you were using the wrong nozel on your heatgun.... I feel for ya. When I first started doing electronics repairs I made the same mistake

i had a broke hmdi didn't read up the heat and ended up tearing 3 pads off... Ended up selling as faulty

I know that this was years ago, but I still don't understand your obsession with adding flux. I started working on electronics for a living in 1996 and I also started studying electrical engineering in 1996 and I have never used or purchased fix even one the last 28 years and I have always gotten the same results. 60/40 lead solder has enough flux in it to do the job whether it's adding a new component or adding a bit of solder to some old crappy lead free solder joints

It all depends on your loation my friend. Here in Oz, I rarely here haitch and to my ears it sounds vulgar. Aitch it is then . . . here in this country. Odd but I believe cattle ticks are taught to pronounce the h.
