I just tried to put an external wide angle lens on my mark 7 and totally fucked the lens. It will not open when powered on no matter what. Gonna have to get a new lens assembly. Definitely will be using this as a guide to help me. Thank you so much!!

Thanks for the useful video. I noticed that there's a slight error in the way you put back the filter glass. From the bottom, it should be the lens, the filter glass, the black film, the silicone part and then the sensor. You have the black film and the filter glass reversed. I found that it's easiest to put the shims back later just before the sensor piece.

Thanks for your video. I have another problem: the image is blurry below and especially on one side. This is due to the fact that there is too much play between the lens tubes and that it bends under its own weight. When I lift the tip a little, it's OK. How do I adjust the tilt of the sensor to be just right for a photo taken horizontally?

I’ve got a big chunk of dust right in the lens. Can’t suck it out with a vacuum cleaner. Wondering if I’ll need to just get a new lens or if I can open it up.
