I originally went into best buy to get the X90L after seeing it was on sale. After looking at it in person next to the X93L i was immediately drawn to the X93L more. I noticed there was less of that washed out look, especially when viewing from the side, and deeper blacks but not nearly as blacked out as some OLEDs. Then i started comparing the X93L to the A80L OLED and the X93L still stood out to me. The X93L mini LED seems like its the perfect balance between the X90L LED and A80L OLED that i saw in store. The X93L has the poppy colors, deep blacks, great brightness, no burn in risk and good anti glare screen for brighter or dark rooms.
And the X93L will still look just as great 10-12 years from now whereas the Oled's will have some degree of burn-in after 3-4 years. I know, I have owned 2 quality Oled's and both had burn in, great picture quality that won't last long.
Hello, a question, do you know if you can turn the tv on and off using the remote control but without pointing the remote control at the Sony X90L or X85K tv??
To be honest, I chose the X90L. when I was looking at them in person, the X90L was just better looking. (I checked multiple times before I purchased it in different stores.) in my opinion the X90L it’s by far the best looking TV right now.
@davesway1170 Because of the compression that happens through RU-vid it can be hard to make these look as good as they do in person. If you live in the Chicagoland area we recommend stopping by Abt to see them both. The 93 is definitely the better of the two, but the 90 still offers a fantastic picture and a great value if you don't need the mini LEDs. And if you stop in on the weekends we have free, freshly baked chocolate chip cookies!
@walinton The compression that happens when a video is uploaded to RU-vid can affect the final product you're seeing on your monitor. We understand people have different opinions on which looks best though so you may still find you like the picture of the X90L better in person. However, the technology Sony uses in the X93L is designed to provide a better image, and looking at the two side by side in person we found that to be true.
@@abtelectronics Technically speaking, when it comes to sharpness and picture quality, its not opinion, it is FACT. Colors is one thing, but blurriness and picture quality can be judged. It's either better resolution image quality or it is not, there is no in between. On this video, regardless of opinion, it is objectively true that the X90L is displaying a better image quality for this video alone. Whether that's true or not watching it in real live is the only real difference.
@@walintonthe camera is clearing focused on the left side tv more so than the right side, which explains the blurriness. It’s pretty easy to see you nitwit.
I personally have owned both first purchased the X90L 65” and upgraded to the X93L shortly after a sale. The X93L is superior - this video does make the X90L looks sharper but that’s not the case once you have it, they’re the same sharpness The X93L is a noticeable improvement over the X90L in two areas - black levels and color volume. If you want a tv that combines the best of high peak HDR brightness in an LCD with inky black levels similar to an OLED - mini led is unequivocally the best choice. The X90L is no slouch and I wouldn’t have upgraded unless the price delta was so low between these models. For most people, X90L is a tremendous value. Reg X93L black levels - they are super impressive, I’m a huge gamer (PS5, Xbox, switch) and recently played the Deadspace remake and that game is very dark and it was so immersive. Playing that game at night with the mini led is fantastic. Absolutely no blooming and to my eyes perfect black levels. Also what’s even more impressive is I can play that game in the brightest sunlit room and it’s fine - the peak brightness in this set is around 1400 nits. You honestly can’t go wrong with either, but I’m personally someone who wants the best Sony tv for the money and since these were so close in price, I had to level up and go with the X93L it’s naturally superior.
@@Deadlygangsta I mentioned the 65” - at that time (July) the X93L was a few hundred dollars more than the X90L. The larger you go in size the higher the price delta per comparable size will be.
I have been telling ppl x90L lols like dog smuge mush matted screen . Low contrast , blooming . X93L looks Better ! In store HISENE U8k even looks better than X93L . X90L is strangely looking low budget with that mush in 2023 !
i dont think the 700 CAD$ premium for the x93L during this black friday sale is worth it at all. You can get a X90 L for 1499 CAD for 65 inches vs 2200 CAD for the X93L.
Trying to decide between these two. You mentioned the "speaker-systems" but your wattage ratings are different from what I've seen advertised? In my research they are both "10-watts" of audio, as opposed to 60 and 90 watts you mention? Have been 'kinda' leaning toward the X93 for the "mini-LED" video rating. There's around $1k price delta, and while cost isn't the primary driver for us, the display quality might be? Thanks!!
Hi, I bought the 75 inch X90L which replaced my old 65 inch Sony X850F of 5 year old. I don't regret it at all. I live in Canada and I could buy my TV for 2K CAD and the X93L but 65 inches costs more than 75 inch X90L. X90L has an amazing picture quality. In 90+% cases you won't notice any difference between these two, and for the rest 10% you will know that there is a difference if you have them both side by side. My advice - buy the x90l and try it if you don't like it you always have at least two weeks to return it, then you'll buy the x93L, and if you are looking for 85 inch size go for X95L instead of x93L. I understand that money are not the issue here but keep a thousand bucks in your pocket is always nice :) I hope this will help you make your decision. Please let me know when you decide.
I had the 900e, I still have the 900f in bedroom. I cam say with 💯 % confidence the 93l is on another level to both. Different league. I have the 95k now in my living room and it's the best tv I've owned. It replaced my lg c1 77inch.
@@gregorycastorena7697 No, it's not. I upgraded from X900F to X90J mostly because of the 120Hz feature. Numbers don't do it justice; everything is better on X90J
@KevintheVerbose The X93L would compare favorably with the QN90C. They are both excellent TVs as far as the picture is concerned, but they have different operating systems and some little feature differences that might make one more appealing to you than the other. If picture is the only concern you could honestly flip a coin to decide. Are we gonna talk about the horrible rainbow effect? That was going across the screen, while the first one only had one white light. Is it like that in person too? I was looking at the 93, but thats almost a dealbreaker for me... 3:00 in the video for reference...
@user-ep7wu6oh5i The power button works with IR on the remote so you'll need to point it at the TV for it to work. The TV has an IR connection so you always have the option to run a sensor to a different location if you need.
@MarkTomeh The model made for the US market only has 2 configurations, low profile and soundbar, and they are both wide. It's possible it could be different in other markets though.
@Ocho817 The X93L was buffering a little during this video so in some scenes it looks less sharp. In person it's clear which is the better picture. If you live in the Chicagoland area be sure to stop by Abt so you can see them both!

@yidingzhang1574 Yes, for some reason the camera footage doesn't show it off all that well, but in person you'll definitely notice light bloom is handled better on the X93L. If you want even better light bloom performance, check out the Bravia 7: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yi8hF3xSRzM.html
I agree and have the X93L and that can be adjusted but once sharpness and reality creation is maxed out for low quality content artifacts are seen on the video image. Thru Costco the X90L is being delivered soon and I'm going to compare them both side by side - hopefully the X90L looks better (XR Clear Image) for my purpose and I can save 600 bucks over X93L.
@@DeesBees85 But also evaluating a TV in a showroom with SUPER bright lights and no way of knowing how the TVs represet also doesnt give you a good way to compare.
So the X90L is the best bang for the buck??? Ive been debating between it and the QM8 for months now and still can't decide. Also considered the X93L but thats a bit more than I would like to spend. Decisions!! 🤔🤔🤷🤷🤦🤦
the sony is going to do better with streaming content because it’s processing is better. so if you stream a lot (as opposed to gaming or blu ray) then the sony will be good.
75” X90L or 65”X93L? Side note this new tv will be upgrading my current tv (55” Samsung Crystal UHD CU7000). I am between bigger size or better picture quality.
Get Samsung QN90C so crisp. Or Hisens U7K . Mini led 780 local dimming. 120hz. That one looks d most close to Samsung Qn90C cuz they both get the tv panels parts from same manufacture . X90L is NOT even mini LED> it’s just generic very low grade QLED. N only has like 80 local dimming for 55”. 140 or something for 65”. Their X93L is good tho, but its d SAMe tv as last yr X95K re launch as X93L . Last year Samsung QN90B QN95B or Hisense U8h would been MAJOR upgrade form ur current tv.
@@Urinator2wi will AVOID X90L at all. It’s NOT mini LED. It’s GENERIC 2018 2019 type of average looking tv n that’s NOT even Glossy screen. It’s MATTE finish frost crusty blooming washed out in color beside X93L real side by side at Bestbuy. N it has less vibrant image in color. Yeah i recorded it in store, i was shocked how much it did NOT look like SONY Tv …in person n in my recordings.
I think my A90J looks better than both with it being an OLED. The only thing that SUCKS about HDMI 2.1 using VRR on PS5 is the screen is extremely dim and looks dingy. So I have surround on eARC and use standard HDMI for gaming.
Do not buy the x93l. I just bought one that thing draws 418 w and takes a regular computer cable and it produces a lot of heat out of the back and out of the front measured with my temp gun 97 it was running and I keep my house at 75°. I walk by it and I felt the heat a food away radiating from the front. I said what I hooked my 85-in Sony back up. My 900h runs at 76 Max 80. No heat coming out of the back or the front. I'm going back and getting the 90l screw mini LED too much power and heat
Funny how he did not mention the absence of XR Clear Image on the X93L. A perfect example of the difference this makes is at 3:30. Look at the detail on the building at the bottom right. You can actually SEE the lines on that building on the X90L. On the X93L, the fine detail is all blurred out. So no, the X93L does NOT look better overall. I'd rather be able to see more fine details in the image than have better contrast. The X93L is simply not worth $600 more.
That difference you’re seeing at 3:30 is obviously due to the camera being more focused on the guy and the tv on the left. The entire image on the right side looks blurrier, because it’s out of focus. lol
How is it "obviously" out of focus? Why would that be obvious? And why would anyone assume that, when both TVs are the exact same distance from the camera? Also if it was out of focus, the other areas of the screen on the left that look the same would look out of focus as well! So that "out of focus" argument is flawed logic. The difference you are seeing is because of the reason I stated - the absence of XR Clear. Indeed, I just double checked and NOTHING is out of focus in the center OR on the right side of the screen. Look at his damn shirt! Both arms look exactly the same in terms of focus. Why do people keep using this "out of focus" nonsense as an excuse?
@@Neo_Sauron you have obviously drank the marketing kool-aid on XR Clear, which is fine, but it’s adorable that you think all this time this more expensive X93L tv has been super blurry, and no one reviewing it has noticed or complained about it. 🤣 Yes, his shirt is in focus on both sides, but other objects behind the right side tv, including the wall are more blurry too, which is why I said it was obvious the left side tv happened to be caught in the focus, which can happen with cameras. Even the menus look blurrier on the right side tv. You think XR Clear is affecting those too? 🤣
@@Neo_SauronI WENT to Bestbuy. I recorded in store…the x93L look Significantly better than X90L. The X90L look Ike $600 type of tv. I am not making this up . X93L look way better. X90L has weird blooming, weird MATTE screen, frost tinted. Just all sorts of weird things . In front that tv. It’s like “NO u cant not even give to me for free “ type of thing. I am Glossy screen all d way. XR clear is OVER rated.
@damonmcintosh3500 The biggest upgrades would be the addition of mini LEDs for lighting the picture (brighter, more realistic), HDMI 2.1 connections, a better picture processor, faster navigation throughout the smart menus, and better motion handling. The X900E was a fantastic TV, but the X93L is definitely a step up in many ways.
@@abtelectronics i have compared x95l and my old 2017 X900F. What i can say is, that the X900F still has the better Picture overall. More Image Depth, better Contrast and clearer Image. In Gamemode the Picture looks not washed out like on the x95l ( 65 inch Germany ). The only thing that is better on the X95L are the black Levels when watching extrem dark scenes. But the Most Scenes are bright. Overall the X900F is the better TV. I bought it for 700€ in year 2017. The Price for X95L is 1900€ in Germany. Not worth it !!!!!!!!!!
I spent a month watching You tube videos then I went to Abt and spend over 30 min looking at the demo video on both TVs and honestly did not find anything that justify the price difference which was almost 80% more!! the 93 is at the price of LG C3 OLED if you like contrast then just get real black and infinite contrast in OLED!? mini LED with more dimming zone will try to mimic the OLED and to do that sometimes the processor will dim the whole picture or smooth it in unrealistic way just to get the best contrast!! Sony was not stupid to leave the X90l with 80 dimming zones, they know too much dimming zones will not work 100% like OLED and it will cause brightness and sharpness issues. base on Rtings the x90l has 43k dynamic contrast and 4500 in native which mean 43k different black levels comparing to 70k of dynamic and 2200 ONLY in native in the x93, this is not that noticeable unless you put them side by side with a slow motion video of fire in a dark room lol. I finally went with the x90l, I got it at a great deal in Superball weekend and I am really happy with it! :) Thank you Abt!!
I don't understand, I see the video of the white box moving across the screen, the amount of halo/blooming on the 93 is horrible :O why does the 90L look so much better with theoretically inferior technology, what is going on? :S I see this on more videos. Where people praise a certain tv for black levels, and all I see it it looks horrendous and the tv's being lambasted look near perfect. Go to this video at 2:45 and tell me the right tv looks better...you can't, it is less sharp and the white box blooms all over...

From what I've seen the X93 is superior. However, from what I've heard, the X95 is much better than the X93. Seems like a strange strategy to make your flagship available in only one size in such a large market. I'd buy the X95, but without it seems like a toss up between the X93 and the Samsung QN90C. If you're thinking x90, check out the comparable TCL and Hicense models.
@parall4x We use a light that is about two feet long for that test and have it turned up to its maximum brightness to show a worst case scenario. In most cases it won't be that dramatic of an effect.
