This is why I stay with Sony! They are the only buds that help me completely block outside noise while fapping on airplanes. When security inevitably drags me off of the plane, the serene silence provided by their buds almost makes me forget that my left earbud is about to die while my right is still at 90%!
I literally lost my buds 2 pro.. and I don't have a Samsung phone yet but I am planning to buy one soon since I have their watch. I am thinking of either buying the xm5 to not fully lock myself in the Samsung ecosystem but also am thinking of waiting for the buds 3pro... Since the integration with the Samsung ecosystem is flawless and has more features... Idk what to do. Currently using my older buds live..
Chapters would really help with navigating between and identifying the various characteristics you're comparing. I found myself jumping a lot as I kept getting lost since everything just blended together.
Sorry to be pedantic but Sony only destroys the battery of ONE of the earbuds within 12-24 months. The other one will continue to work for years and years, to be passed down to future generations as a family heirloom. #SonyFam
If you're considering buying the Sony XM5 earbuds, be cautious. While they excel in sound quality and active noise cancellation (ANC), there are significant concerns about battery longevity. From personal experience with the XM3 model, the battery degraded rapidly after 1.5 years, with the left bud dying after 30 minutes and the right one after 50 minutes without ANC. Research indicates that Sony's true wireless earbuds (TWS) suffer from this issue due to the use of batteries with varying voltage capacities and a fixed charging capacity, leading to accelerated degradation. This problem is reportedly more severe in the XM4 model, with some users finding them unusable after just one year. Early reports on the XM5 suggest similar issues, with some users experiencing uneven battery life between the buds. While Sony's headphones are not affected by this issue, it may be wise to avoid their TWS earbuds.
I love this video. Just curious, were the buds pro 2s on the AWF4 software version at the time of testing for this video. If not, there were some nice improvements with this recent version specifically with ambient sound.
Great video! Although I recommend the moondrop variations (paired with apple dongle) for music listening over any tws earbuds. Sharur posted a scientific review of why they’re one of the best IEMs in the world.
I have used Galaxy BudsPro (1st gen) for over 2 years and now swiched to Buds 2 Pro. The buds still drop out of my ears as frequently, not comfortable again, connectivity range to my S23Ultra has decreaced by factor 2x (barely connects at >5-7m, when Buds Pro stayed connected sometimes at 30m), Battery still sucks, touch control is too sensitive and activates by jaw movement even when eating, ANC is very good, but it used to be very good in Buds Pro (until some Wearable update tweaked it to be 5x less than when purchased). Mic is very good. The only reason to buy Buds2 Pro is a huge leap in sound quality vs Buds Pro. They sound very VERY good. The sound is dynamic, deep, detailed with great separation and stage, as well as refined. I guess that is due to 2 drivers.
I had both and they are really comfortable for me. The small battery is inevitable, is not a big deal to make a earbuds with 10 hours capacity, but it's hard to make it small and not bulky. Buds pro/pro2 are meant to be small and low key, and they are really good at it, but oc they don't have that amazing battery capacity and they have a pretty bad passive noise cancellation. Btw i use A LOT my earbuds, my pro 1 have at least 4k hours of usage and the battery is still decent. Can I ask you which eq do you use with the pro 2? I usually go with dinamic but imo on pro 2 the bass are too heavy and the treble too harsh for me. I also don't really like the mids, and the Voices sound thinner compared to pro 1, which were much more warmer. Btw sorry for my bad English, it's not my main language
@@BooredAtWork Sony also supports the spatial audio that Apple has You can see this in the settings of the new phone from sony Xperia 1v It will work automatically with the new Sony headphones

Question: which buds has the best standby? I.e. You leave them sitting on your desk for two weeks in the case, you pick it up to use and buds still at 100%. The XM4 does that great for me.
Nice was waiting for it. Used my xm4 for almost 2 year. Hope they fix the battery degrade issue. Gonna pre-order it later. 300usd is so cheap for a Sony Product
I'll choose grey color wf xm5 I will buy it soon It's the same color as my phone xperia 1v It's great that the best company makes headphones + AirPods still maintains the 3.5 jack in Xperia phones Sony deserves respect
I really hope that the upcoming Sony WH-1000XM6 comes with some improvements over its predecessor, transparency mode on par or close to airpods max/airpods max 2(?) and an IP rating of at least IPX4
