I know I'm old school, but I like how it still has an aux jack. Yes bluetooth 5.2 is pretty great, but nothing beats the ease and quality of a cable plugged into anything from a laptop, to a 40 year old Walkman. The aux cable needs more love.
Yes, had this speaker (SONY) for a few days now, incredible deal , couldn’t be happier. Just charged and plugged in my old iPod 📱, can’t beat it. Great reviews!
Srs Xb43 has auxiliary and what I did is run the headphone jack from my TV with a stereo splitter to each of my XB43 so I can have a wired right and left channel as well as Bluetooth if I really want need to but I find it's not as nearly loud and definitely bass suffers the most but it does get substantially louder when hooked up with the auxiliary cable
I'm a farmer and after completing different works every day , evening I spent some time with my Sony XB43 & I have bought 2 of them to stereo pair on my bedroom & I have my custom EQ , which makes me feel more relaxed & refreshing, I don't use the lights of speaker . The sound from it is more balanced which feels really good & I spent hours listening to it & I'm happy with it.
I have used both jbl and sony speakers for years and I have noticed one thing that the first impression of a jbl is wow ...it has great bass and treble is so clear and sony will be like oh it sounds good but nothing outstanding... but wait after listening them for a long hours you will realize that bass on jbl is good but that sibilance is just so annoying. That's why I gave up on jbl . That's my personal opinion , nothing against jbl fans . So don't bother replying with abusive comments
You nailed it. I always love the JBL spind at first, but after a short time, I get listening fatigue. With any Sony speaker I can go for hours without a problem.
While I don't own a JBL, but I do have a friend with a very large JBL speaker, not priced too differently than the XG300, I do own the XG300, and without tweaking any of the default audio profiles, the JBL was just punchier than the Sony. Once I went into the audio settings and upped the bass and the mid it was very close between the two. I think that's one aspect of these devices that gets overlooked in these reviews. I get the whole trying to be neutral in the reviews, but I think it's something people should be made more aware of. So if you don't like the default sound profile for the Sony, just remember it does have an EQ in the Music app that let's you find what works best for you and your style of listening.
I just got the sony srs xg-300. I don't have anything to compare it to because this is the first quality Bluetooth speaker I've owned. I have had high quality house sterio systems with full suzed speakers. I definitely know quality when i see and hear it With that said, i love this speaker. I'm not looking to piss my neighbors off. I've outgrown that.
You posted your comment 7 months ago. I hope you got the xg-300. While the app has a 3 band eq, if you have a Samsung galaxy series or, i believe any Android phone, it has, i believe a 9 band eq. You can really spend some time and tweak it to near personal perfection. I just got mine yesterday. While this is my first Bluetooth speaker, i do have decades of sterio quality experience and enjoyment. This xg-300 is very impressive.
@@Godric_71if you have to tweak the eq using 9 bands, the device is moot. The point of high wuality audio devices is that they are optimal out of the box. If the device cannot produce the quality that was intended by the creator, the device is not good enough. Facts.
Agree! 😂 The design is the one thing that makes you addicted about it. This speaker is really great and beautiful on its own. Just dont compare it to JBL, then you will really appreciate it much more ♥️
Yes! Just because a speaker isn't the best, doesn't mean it's a bad speaker which I think some people miss in comparison videos. I have Harmon Kardon go play, Studio 4, Studio 5, Urbanears Ralis, Braven XL, Tronsmart T6 Max and the One More Bluetooth speaker and I love them all even though they have different sound signatures. I think some speakerphiles get offended too easily. So while you're doing comparison videos, also do videos focused on one speaker and it's best features. It might help if you had a rating system (like an 8 out of 10) to let people see a speaker can be good even though it's not the best. Good video!!
This is a really level-headed take on these types of speakers (or anything at all). I'm completely fine that it's not "the best". I just love nice music and that's all I really care about. These speakers bring it out.
I found one in Target the other day and in my opinion this speaker sounds better than my brother’s $700 Bose speaker. I’ve never liked the way JBL speakers sound, Sony just sounds cleaner, warmer, richer bass, honestly don’t know what people are talking about saying the bass isn’t impressive.
I just got this refurbed from EBay 129.00 in gray love it it very nice yo javelin to use custom mode and crank up the eq and I went into Spotify and boosted their eq now the speaker is awesome I love the carrying handle it’s lighter than the XB 43 the design of the xg300 is awesome love it great design and sound it’s much better then the xe200/300 bump up the eq and you got a great speaker
@@scarface817funkytown it’s more robust I use it in my pool class does a great job I have two of them even better it like the xb43 but easier to transport with the built it handle sometimes they go for 109.00 you get the charging plug with it for that price you can’t go wrong the lights are hard to see the XB line had great lights
@@scarface817funkytown nope it looks brand new mine are perfect in looks and performance comes in a generic box is the only difference between new and refurbished
That's a pretty sony thing 😉 You have to spend a little bit time with it, customize it or adapt to it and then sometimes you can get some great deals with Sony products which are pretty fun in most cases. However some had bad firmware support or bugs/missing features that got never fixed 😌 But Sony bluetooth speakers are great, I use them since I changed my old JBL Extreme against a pair of XB-41s. In Stereomode it was a pretty nice feeling and with some EQing it also sounded great 👍
Just bought the sony I was so impressed with the sound I bought another one to get stereo, I love the JBL speaker but the sony is as you say so much better to use in the house 😀
I'm surprised you enjoy the portability that much, the size of the speaker would make it a pain for me. I own an Xtreme 2 and carrying it around the house is a bit tiresome
1:56 I noticed it after uploading. 🤣 oh well. 🤦🏾♂️ As far as the portability, that just shows how much of a difference the handle makes over having a strap. It's night and day.
I had this speaker but returned it. Its not a bad speaker but the bass is not puchy enough even after tweaking. I also had the JBL extreme 3 but even though it has more punchy bass the overall sound profile doesnt suit hip hop music. Listen to Aint no Fun by Snoop Dogg and you will know what I mean. The best speaker in this category I found was the Motion boom plus by Soundcore. However its to big just to put in your hand luggage. Its hard to strike the right balance with these speakers. I will stick with the bose flex for the time being. Good little speaker
great video! i got jbl, soundcore boom plus, tribit blast BUT? i always grab my sony xg500s for some crazy reason. i like the the sg300. it reminds me of a little brother.lmao!! i guess i just like the spaceage look of the sonys!!!!
I bought this last 2 days ago. I charged it because is says "low battery", I charged it and waited for 10 mins, I found it weird because it said "battery is at 40%" and after I waited for 53 minutes, it's still says "battery is at 40%".. I'm not sure what's the problem is because it keeps saying "battery is at 40%", it's not saying the exact battery percentage of the speaker 😢. Any advice? Or any ideas why this thing is happening? 😢
I somewhat agree with yoyr comments. Sony has been criticised for their lights, which I get and understand, but I'm not bothered by them. Yes aesthetically it's a nice speaker. But here's the thing, the sound tuning. Sony just has not got this right, so therefore in no way is it a $350 speaker. In the uk it's been dropped to £199/$220 ish. That's it's pricepoint. Perhaps even a little cheaper. Sony need to get the tuning sorted, imo it's a marginally worse sounding speaker than the XB43, which is where the XG300 problem lies. It has the base to be something very good, and a good burn in does help, but Sony needs the brighten up the sound a little. There's too much competition out there now for it to sound the way it does. Get the tuning sorted and yes it becomes a great speaker. As it is, it isn't.
hey mate im looking to get a speaker. got about a £250 budget. what do you recommend? ive been looking at the XG300 , pulse 5 , extreme 3. im open to opinions
Do you know if the Sony SRS-XG300B works while charging, so that you don't have the surprise of running out of battery and you can immediately put it on charge and it will continue to work.
my only problem with this is the volume sometimes go down automatically by itself. maybe because of low battery of overheating? is there a setting to turn this off?
If you use tbe app to adjust eq. Then later connect to the speaker with a different phone that doenst have the app at all does the speaker still have that custom eq stored in it? Or does it revert back to the nasty sound?
does the sound go down automatically when battery is under 50%? because my friend has sony xb-33 and the sound goes down when battery is under 50%... thats annoying
Sony xg300 or jbl charge 5, what speaker should I buy? I would like to use the speaker for some indoor partys. I wonder if Jbl charge 5 is capable of providing enough sound for 30 people party.
I'm sorry, but the Charge 5 and XG300 are not big enough for a 30 person party. It's best to consider the BoomBox 3 or X500. You can find the XG500 at discounted prices, and it's recently had an update that makes it sound GREAT!
does anyone know the rms watts of the Sony xg300 Lowe's home improvement website list it having 70 watts ...and another you tuber told me it has 75 watts Sony doesn't say on their website does anyone know for sure what it is ??? thanks anyone
In my counry the sony is like 65 dollars cheaper than the jbl.And i like the design so much and my friend already has xb 43 so we can pair them up.No brainer sony ftw.
I'd buy a boombox 3 over xg500 any day and I'd buy the xg300 over the extreme any day boom box 3 destoys the xg500 in sound quality xg500 is muffled and muddy from resonance and the xg300 sound quality is slightly better then the extreme but it's alot cheap can find it on sale for $200 alot of times
I went to buy a xb43 on sale, but I saw the gx300 and used the demo and feel like if I bought the xb I'd always be regretting not buy the gx. My use is my car sound system upgraded from xb33.
COME ON NOW. CARRY THE JBL EXTREME NEAR THE PASSIVE RADIATOR. MY COLLECTION 2 BOOMBOX 2 EXTREME 2 2 EXTREME 3 2 360 1 CLIP 1 CLIP 2 1 MINI 3 IN BY 3 IN Yes I am a JBL Fan boys
Hell no. CHANGE THE SETTINGS! +10 bass, +8mids, -4 treble....but I like my old school rap music...once you do that it sounds bascially the same as the jbl but louder...that clearaudio+ setting is garbage and that's why it's sounds so much worse on this video... sony XG300 is equal if not better afterwards
Да , расказывать можно много , но где приложение на украинском языке? На худой конец на русском хоть дайте , толку мне русскоговорящему если приложение на английском ????????
I hate all things JBL. I've never listened to them, but the reason I don't is that they're over priced and are a bad value compared to what you can buy elsewhere . For the same reason I won't buy a Mercedes Benz or a BMW. They're bad value for what you pay. I just don't buy them or want to own one.
