Unboxing the Sony Xperia III (Mark 3), with a hands-on review of the camera tech, gaming performance and Game Enhancer updates, plus a specs run-through. So far I'm loving Sony's 2021 flagship smartphone, but is the Xperia 1 III one of the best mobiles right now?
You've got several updates vs the Mark 2 phone, including some camera improvements such as a dual-length telephoto lens. That Photo Pro app has a basic mode for beginners and is packed with other features and tools for photo and video capture.
Performance is as strong as ever for gaming, with loads of extra help and upgraded recording options from the Enhancer menu. Genshin Impact played well on the Sony Xperia 1 III despite some heating issues, and a possible touchscreen problem. I'll keep on testing for the full review.
Media fans will adore that 4K OLED 120Hz screen with Sony's X1 smarts, while audio is just as strong with the Hi-Res support, LDAC action and Dolby Atmos tuning. Add in a headphone jack, expandable storage and super-durable design and you've got a proper winner.

Glad you have it to test it! You are among top best testers! 1. Touch is a problem of app adaptation and if you look in Xperifirm 1 III already have an upgrade. 2. Camera have tons of modes and specifications and if you can test them in the best way possible you're my fav! 3. 5 III would be nice to test it too! Cheers!

Xperia flagship phones are the best Android phones to date when it comes to capturing pictures of moving objects mostly blurry free. Also light weight and easy to hold in one hand ✋

Although you can't uninstall the mandatory apps, if you disable them they disappear from the menu. This at least gets rid of the clutter!

Waiting for Xperia 5 iii. It'll be the best according to me. Smaller Xperia 1 iii. Only misses wireless charging. That's for the review as well. Very precise and awesome, been waiting for this when other channels were uploading the video with the phone. Cheers 🥂

From what I saw the 5 doesn't get the 4k screen or the telefoto lenses either. Hopefully that's all that's missing. I also heard $950 US for the price.

Sony phones tend to have good pre-order deals in the UK if you keep an eye out. My 1ii was £799 with some free XM3 headphones from o2 last year.

Yes, I got the mark 1 for £580 with free headphones (worth over £300 at the time). Again from O2. I would not pay £1200 even though I would buy it over the s21U at a similar price!

I was going to hold out for this phone, but at £1,200 it's just too expensive. I just got the S21 Ultra 256GB on Prime Day for £954, that plus the £150 cashback with Samsung means an S21 Ultra for £804. Sorry Sony, I'm not waiting another 2 months & paying 50% more for this.

@@HOkayson my note 20U got resigned to work only duties a couple of months ago. Managed to get a 512Gb S21U unopened from fleabay for £675. Had high hopes for the Sony. But it looks a massive letdown. Roll on trying the pixel 6 Pro in October.

Price is OK IMO. U can get a full cinematic experience with its display and audio that u cant even dream of any other smartphone, Great and guaranteed long battery life, Top notch spec including outstanding RAM management, No screen cut out whatsoever, Jack, Superb camera software.

Re: The missed taps. If you have a look at the 4 characters at 12:57 they move a few pixels. It seems Android believes you are dragging rather than tapping. That's one of the problems with very high pixel density.

@@paulosilva8200 Hi Paulo. Basically I would like to know how loud is the loudspeaker, and how good the sound quality is. For example does it sound tiny, or have some decent bass to it (compared to other phones, obviously I don't expect wonders from such a small device). I use my phone a lot to watch videos and listen to podcasts through its loudspeaker, so its a very important aspect for me.
