To be honest im really love Sony stock UI because its so clean and simple..not all smartphone brand has like Sony do..i love simple UI and icon...almost stock Android but more beauty from Sony...so i stick with Sony until now..
Remy Ziro no offence I know this is a opinion but Sony’s UI has always been slow,Clunky and kind of all over the place and with the camera things being in modes rather than settings etc always bothered me that’s why I haven’t used a Sony in years although the Xperia 1 is tempting ....
The correct way to hold the Xperia XZ3 in the palm of your hand is by placing your little finger as support under the bottom side of the Xperia XZ3 and the Xperia XZ3 resting on your palm of your hand with your thumb supporting the vertical side of the Xperia XZ3. Therefore your finger print is ergonomically within reach of your pointing finger. The purpose? All Xperia smartphones are designed to have the omnibalance part within reach on your one hand, having them resting on the palm of your hand. The omnibalance design is typically a Sony thing.
I'll stay with my Xz3.. The 1 is way to tall, missing wireless charging and the front facing speaker setup. Also that forest green is still sooooo gorgeous.
@@musemooch indeed.. If my XZ3 had a wideangle, hp jack and FM radio it would be the perfect phone. The old Z series always were fully featured. That's what I loved about Sony phones. But they seem to lose more useable features every year. And replace them with shitty gimmick features. Like vibration mode, 3d cam modeling and 21/9 aspect ratio.. Who uses that shit..?? Not me. Luckily they didn't do the notch hype. And the OLED screen on my XZ3 is just gorgeous!! But I'm almost certain my next phone won't be a Sony flagship anymore. Too much cheaper options with more useable features available.
I pre-ordered the Xperia 1 as I got a great deal from O2 with free 1000MX3 headphones, coming from the XZ3 I am already missing the wireless charging but to be honest that's all I'm missing! The camera setup is miles better in my opinion and that screen! Oh my god watching 4k content on the Xperia 1 is sublime, also I'm already getting used to the taller design, with the phone being narrower it's much nicer for me to use one handed. Thanks for the great content on the Xperia 1 by the way, I watch every one!
@@muhaiminzakaria1466 not that I've noticed, I don't wear super skinny jeans or the like though which I guess may make a difference. I've gotten used to the new form factor very quickly.
My white XZ3 has hard issues with microphone/connection :/ When I speak with someone I hear ofter that they can't hear me or my voice is scratched. I switched my SIM into another, cheap phone for a week and didn't have similar problems in the same places for 7 days.
Thank you. Great review. I have been watching several reviewers talking about the Experia 1 and still not sure I understand why exactly everyone is super excited about it but will keep watching and will learn.
Nice, I am planning to get one but I'm being turned off by the single camera lens setup and the "Flare" that it suffers from, otherwise I absolutely love that phone, please reassure me concerning that camera, I really wanna get that phone.. also tell me about the audio quality when using earbuds please, is it loud enough? It is clear and high resolution but is it loud? Because it was never loud enough in my XZ, thank you 🤜🏻
@@FortunateLee98 yes it does have a single camera, but it does great job both day and night, i compared it with the S9+ and beat it day and night, the note 9 camera was only a bit better at night, if that's a good reference, but it actually beats even the note 9 with the selfie camera, yes it is aperture is 2.0 but it really takes great images day and night. and don't listen to phone reviewers, it has a great camera and i don't know what is this flare thing you mentioned.
Before seeing this video I was hesitant on the xperia 1 and set on getting the xz3 but now I'm leaning more to the xperia 1. This video has kinda helped me see the good in the xperia 1 since I kept seeing alot of negative. Both look like great phones and now it's kinda hard to decide but it seems that the xperia 1 stands out a little better due to functionality that makes up for the losses in hardware. Definitely appreciate the side by side review.
Mate. You are on fire with the Xperia 1 videos. I'm tearing up as I say this...fucking lovely...absolutely fucking lovely. 😢. So happy to be a subscriber right now. ...
@@tuananh5345 I've seen all his videos about Xperia 1 lol, but I want a deep review in camera, like a side by side comparison with xz3 or s10 or pixle or Huawei, I wanna know the camera quality especially in low light conditions, showing just some photos doesn't give the idea
Damn I'm so hyped for this phone, finally Sony got their design right, always love their original design, I absolutely love this phone. Dual speaker and the camera is promising aswell. 4K screen? Absolutely. Very natural color and I prefer this than super vibrant color from Samsung's.
I own this Xperia 1, I'm finding brightness is a bit low and camera photos is still behind the P20&P30 but as a package I'm liking this phone, the reason I came back to Sony from Samsung note and P20 pro is one main reason.....I just like the feel it just works for me
Thanks for sharing your experience. Are HDR photos in manual mode behind P30, too? I'm concerned about overblown highlights and light sources, which always has been a problem of Sony phones. And what about those RAW files or altenative apps? Maybe you can get a better picture quality with it.
@@andreaszaper4120 the eye focus is great, but to answer your question my P20 pro from my quick comparison (I'm a photographer by the way) is better overall than the Sony, as for RAW files in having truble finding them OR my software refuses to open them....more research needed... The high DM range is still better on the Huawei and usability of setting are just better, however when you move to video this is where the Sony trump's almost everything I have seen,so as it stands until Sony release more updates which by the way there good at for photography Huawei is in my opinion better
Two things make this phone a must have for me.... 1) that it has the same screen, and image processor as Sony's Bravia TVs, and 2) That Sony's Alpha camera team worked on the camera.
lol Screens are different, though both OLEDs are made by lgd. And this phone has spd with Adreno GPU onboard, while they use MediaTek MT 5893 with ARM Сortex А73 in their latest tvs
Thanks for the time and effort for the comparison best OLED displays on a smartphones I have the Sony XZ3 It blows away my note 9 on display that’s with both on Vivid displays Sony uses P oled much better than Samsung super amoled display it even distorted the S10+ So well done Sony 👍
I do like the 1's cinematic 21:9 aspect ratio, but I've seen camera comparison between the 1 and the XZ3 and I seems to prefer the XZ3. For some reason, the 1's exposure is tad a bit too much compared to XZ3. Makes me wonder how the 1 perfoms against the XZ2 Premium. By the way, love that Kurisu Makise wallpaper. 😍
The Xperia 1 bezels makes the Xperia xz3's look like the xz premium (big). But in reality the xz3 has small bezels, so the Xperia 1 must be really small.
Already bought the Xperia 1. I have the xz3 currently. I can't go back now haha. But in sure it'll be worth the upgrade. I like what the x1 has to offer.. I like everything about it. The internal memory, the screen size. Cinema pro app. The game enhancer thingy... I think its gonna be all good. And I got it in sexy purple too. Noiiiice, just gotta wait till Monday now when it arrives. I could of waited but I have the problem of wanting things now 😩😅
You've got to love Sony for developing the Xperia 1 and kudos to you sir, for keeping Sony alive but... sadly, their camera's continue to fail to impress me, as seen in your camera review and the audio quality lacks, too! I use 'manual' camera modes on my XZ Premium but the results can be very hit and miss! It's so frustrating and disappointing, that Sony can't nail the camera and sound (considering their previous history) in my opinion! My current XZ Premium has problems and it's the first time in a very long time, I am thinking of acquiring a nearly new Pixel 3a XL for its camera and superior audio quality, after hearing that the 4 is not worth the money Keep up the good work. I do hope Sony don't fold on producing phones but I am dubious about moving to the 1, as it's not cheap, either!
Fantastic video. Sony is giving me HTC vibes. With each new phone they remove features I want (such as headphone jack and balanced stereo speakers) and don't improve much elsewhere (photos, lack of zoom, lack of stabilization). Do you (anyone reading this) think this is a worthy upgrade from XZ Premium? It's a hard sell with the likes of Samsung, Huawei, and one plus killing in the camera department (though I hate pretty much everything else), and the likes of Razer and other gaming phones killing in audio and performance (though I hate pretty much everything else). I actually want MKB's "Frankenstein phone" (look up the video, though I hate pretty much all his other videos)... I'll stop now. If you read this far hello and hope you're having a great day.
I have XZP and XZ3. I'm planning to get this. What's your feedback? I try to love the XZ3 but that fingerprint location and curved screen is really an issue for me.
@@tidus1ph the only issue I had with xz3 was the speaker at the bottom as that's where my finger sits lol but I must have been the only person to like the rear finger print scanner .the new phone is just better in every way really takes a bit a getting used to though as most things are different and your old screensaver want fit new phone which got to me a bit .but the only thing I would change is I would like screen recording not just screen shot on power button and wireless charging but other than that it's fantastic the video is so easy to use and slow Mo works better on this phone to
@@tidus1ph yes mate even though only 12mp it's better than the xz3 which I didn't think it would be but it just picks up colour better and even when you zoom in on pic it's Christel clear still
Hey Chris have you noticed any issues with weak signal reception on the X1? I'm on three in the UK and have noticed that the signal bar is often showing only 1-2 bars when normally would be full
Xperia1 the reference 4k OLED I don't understand why SONY would do that. Anyone who buys this will immediately feel outdated. This phone won't sell well at all
Xz3 is a very good phone.. Pity sony marketing and sales does. Not live up to the quality engineering... Watch sony in 2019 as it has internally moved personnel from their camera division to the phone division... They should be the market leader next year. I am looking forward to sonys screen speakers
Is XZ3 still a good option in 2022 especially for those who doesn’t game on a phone but a heavy multitasking freak and expects the phone to last full day on a single charge with about 5 hours of SOT? I don't like Xperia 1 just because it's too big to hold, more inclined to Xperia 5 instead. But which is actually a better option if sold for the same money between these two?
i was today in o2 phone shop,i did use the xperia 1 for few minutes, beutiful design,i liked it,i got xperia xz from over 2.5 years,i like to upgrate but this phone is to long for me,but still i will give time to get used.I woul prefer same design but 5 inch compact or 6.1 inch the phone is sold to me.i got yers useing only latest sony phones, nice and smooth to use,but the cameras havent been good, not near apple or samsung,i dont know abaut xperia 1,no complain about design, beautiful phone.
