good work on removing the front camera!!!!! you might want to lift up the little white tab to allow the flex to removed, rather than just tugging on it, a very easy way to create damage

hey guys don't do like this he pick the main canera from the lens and the connectors have a small black things that lift up and then they cone out easy and not with tweezers because you can damage the flex,and first thing to do just disconnect the battery because you can touch something on the motherboard and you can make a shortcircuit.With all of that nice job my friend.

I might try and get a Sony Xperia Z2 off eBay or something then try and replace the motherboard as I have a motherboard from my old Z2 that I used in 2017 which broke that same year and that motherboard has not been used in 6 years

hi i have an xperia z2 that the outer framing has snapped due to excessive force ie being sat on. the digitizer and lcd are in working order but however the back is smashed and the frame could be in two parts at any point i dont see a fix for this in any of your videos so any replys would be much appreciated, thanks

hi I replaced my cracked Z2 screen using your excellent youtube video. The new screen looks great and everything on the phone works except the wireless charging port. I didn't think to check this before putting the back on the phone. I only removed the battery and the bottom of the phone so I am unsure what has happened. Is there anything I can try without removing the back again, which was very tight. Many thanks :)

+Aditya Kulkarni The phone can only remain waterproof when it is repalced by the professional with origianl repalcement parts. But it can't be 100% sure when it is just replaced by DIY repair work.

+Félix Johan Rojas Medina The primary microphone is on the power flex cable, and there is noise-canceling mic on motherboard. If I were you I do a "1 week test" without the noise-canceling mic. Turn it off, and use your phone for 1 week with this option. With this you can test which mic you should replace. If your phone is OK without the noise-canceling mic, you should replace the MOTHERBOARD. If your phone still doesn't work, there is a problem with your main mic, so you should replace the POWER FLEX CABLE.

Hi, thank you so much, very nice video! I did open my phone, Sony Z2, I removed everything just like in the video (+ I opened the front side as well) and then put back everything. Now when I try to start the phone it just blinks 3 times in red and won't start? Apperently something wen't wrong, can you help me? :/ btw I connect the phone to the charger and it doesn't help, so its not the battery... :(

Hello, when I put the back cover, am I forced to put new stickers? The old ones already on the window are no longer good? +Elvira Rafikova no, the back cover sticker is disposable,after you disassemble your back cover, you have to get a new adhesive to reinstall the back cover.

+Elvira Rafikova NO, the old adhesive on the back cover is no longer sticky enough anymore, you need to use the new adhesive so that you can attach the back cover back to the phone tightly. You can buy such adhesive here: www.witrigs.com/oem-back-cover-sticker-for-sony-xperia-z2 . It doesn't need to be heated.

No. But when you use after a very long time, it may get worn and the ring of the waterproof adhesive sticker may fall off more or less, so the water resistance may weaken. Be careful.

Hi, my phone just died and the only thing it does is flash red from the status LED once per second. This happens only with the USB charging method. No other signs of life. I did nothing to my phone (no drops or spills on it) it was working fine and then it just died. I saw that SB suggested that I disconnect the battery and because Sony doesn't care about my problem I decided to try this. So I have 2 questions: 1) How do I glue this back together once I separate the back with the same protection? 2) What does the Z2 back cover sticker do?

Hi, great movie. I dropped my Z2 and the back glass broke, but it was still usable, but after a while it lost signal and could not connect to the network. Wi-Fi, bluetooth and NFC worked properly. I ordered white back glass and repair kit and used your video to take me through it. The glass is now changed and looks great. But the phone will still not connect to the network, while I was "in there" I checked the RF cable. I disconnected it and connected it again, but still no signal. Do you have any idea what may cause this and how to fix it?

I have faced the same issue then I was able to fix it by removing the vibrator and speaker housing and checked the 2 pins that connect the secondary antenna to the frame.align them to be connected to the frame again. hope this will help.

Chris Smedley It is the NFC chip sticker. The new back cover comes without it. So you need to reuse it when replacing back cover.

It can be 100% waterproof if replaced by the Sony center. But it is hard to ensure the water resistance if you do it by yourself.

I have a question about this my friend. I have a Z2, it was sumerged in water 20sec and now the screen doesnt turn on!!! The phone is still working with sounds and everything else but i got a black screen. When i turn on the phone i can barely see the sony logo, but it is all. Do i need to change the screen? No men, I could barely see the system, the UI but it was just for few seconds, then what i only get was the sound. Besides, now I can turn it off by guessing where the menu bottoms are. The system is ok, but... the screen... Do you think the flat is wet and that's why i cannot see anything?

Andres yo tenia un xperia z y resulta que estos telefono se recalientan demasiado y la parte de atras va perdiendo el adesivo y se levantan un poco por alli le entro agua al mio y le paso eso con la pantalla pero luego de varios dias o semanas volvio a la normalidad puede que esto le haya pasado al tuyo I was a xperia z and this phone has some problem with the glue in the back side, it lose when it turn hot. The water get in to the mine but it go back to normal after several weeks may be it happend to yours

A part of my Z2 gets extremly hot even if I am on standby, it`s where the 20MP camera is placed... on both sides, front and back it gets very hot there! now the 20Mp camera, the frontcamera and the led flash is dead. why does it get so hot? what part is there that it can get so hotß is it the camera itself?

+waldemar waldwald i fixed it by replacing the 20MP main camera... then the led flash and my front camera worked again too :-)

yes same problem here, few days ago i went swimming and take a photo with my xperia z2, then suddenly i notice there is condensed water inside (i look at the lense, and yes there is some water inside). after that my z2 still work but when i left the battery uncharged till 0% it could not turn on anymore only black screen and boot logo for not more than a second, i've tried some solutions on internet such press reset button, power + volume up button, but nothing change at all. whenever i try to connect to PC, nothing detected. the only thing turn on now is only the LED lamp with red when i keep charging it. so i wondering i should remove the water inside. Could i do that?

Arkadiusz Radomski Plz check if there is problem with the relating setting. If not, the light sensor has been broken, then you have to replace it.

the only thing i wanted to see was how it is around the part in wich i plug the cable to charge, because my phone is day after day harder to get to charge ON, i plug the cable in and out till it's finally works, but today, i failed XD ... and i can't turn it on anymore, just wondering if i can do smthing by myself, or is it dead ? : x

Perhaps the charging cable is worn out. You can try a new USB charging cable. If it still doesn't work, then change the charging port of the phone.

Cable is working, the usb connector is dead then, does it really needs any welds to be done ? that's what i've been told when i called a repair center :x

Is it posible to take the antenna cable from this phone and place it in Z3? Since my antenna in Z3 is damaged... or maybe even some earlier once? For example Xperia Z to Z3?

hmm...my z2 got splashed in water while charging,my antenna cable was damaged there was no help for the phone.
