I'm planing on buying Xperia Z3+ for this new year and i hear that the phone gets very hot on performing basic functions like browsing and gets more hot when using the camera. I've been using my Xperia Z for multimedia usage, browsing and gaming (MKX and Asphalt) on a daily basis and my phone gets hot every now and then , but how does Z3+ take it? Can i go ahead and buy the handset without worrying about the heat issue?
I just got this phone. It's pretty cool. The screen could be brighter, I had a note 3 before this that was really had a great screen. I was hiking and it warned me of overheating. I, with nervous anticipation, dipped it into the creek I was hiking along....it stayed on and held up. Pretty neat. It does heat up under heavy use. PlayStation Remote play works good on wifi.
i can confirm heating problem is solved with new firmware update (32.2.A.0.224) for this phone. I simultaneously charge and do youtube game and everything possible to make it heat up but it not does not get higher than 42°C which earlier was 47°C Max and being normal was between 40 to 45°C for no reason. 😁 I am soo much happy and yes they brought back stamina mode which i don't see a real use of it although if used with Ultra Stamina mode you could get the most of your phone left battery.
Does the camera shut down during normal usage like 1080p recording or photo taking? Would it heat up if I listen to music and keep it in my pocket? I'm still hesitating whether to buy the Z3 or Z3+, but I feel like the 16gb of the Z3 would not be enough.
+element3663 it heats up while recording 1080p videos for 10mins but not that much that it becomes unbearable, with update its much better you can't expect heating problem amymore. Music and Video playback doesn't heat the phone. I watched 5 episodes of FXX tv series Fargo on the phone losing battery from 70% to 46% only, major battery improvement.
+element3663 no it doesn't heat up in pocket, must buy the 32gb verson storage is little fast to fill, z3 have rooting guide and a available Android N Developer ftf file available on developer.sony.com, Z3+ lacks so much on rooting guides and online support i don't know. 😔
Main reason why I look at Pocketnow for my reviews. Michael Fisher speaks the clearest and most correct English of any reviewer on the web. It seems like ALL of the reviewers at PhoneArena struggle to speak proper English. It's all broken and monotone. Sometimes it's just hard to understand. Thumb down.
I feel, The Xperia Z series began boring from the appearance of design to software and hardware. Not many upgrades. There is no wow factor. But I'm quite happy to be able to see this video.
thank you very much I was about to buy this phone because of water resistance. but you made it very clear that sony still sucks at making phones. after all complaints about z3 this is the next flagship. & 4K or not z5 premium is also not good enough.
why just everybody attacking Sony? as there is some campaign against them by most reviewrs ! while a few others say different. I think journalists & commercials made Apple and Samsung great not their actual products.
Please tell me about the battery life, I'm using a Panasonic Eluga U now, due to unavailability of custom recovery and Roms I'm planning on any upgrade to this phone. Is it okay? Cause I mostly use my phone for browsing and movies, does it give good battery for that, I'm also gonna use greenify so with all this what are my chances of getting a 14 hour battery life?
7.0? Wait,wait,wait... I admit that Z3+ has worse battery life than Z3, an overheating processor and the buggy camera app, but still much better than One M9, which got the score of 8.3, in many ways (better camera, better audio quality through headphone, better battery life, much brighter display, much more compact and lighter body)... Please PA, I know you hate Sony a LOT, but as a reviewer, please attempt to give us a fair review. And this reviewer's beard is killing me!
Hi I've just ordered 1 of these and am planning on returning it, without opening unless someone can tell me the overheating and shutting down has been 100% solved, thanks in advance for any info, cheers Adam.
can I connect my phone to my TV? by the way, my phone is Sony Xperia TL, yes an old version, but I still like it, and yes I can connect my phone to my TV using a dock charger. thanks.
+RDS 03 They're only foreign to you, you're foreign to them. Would you take issue with a British, French or other European nationality doing a review? Cus you know, RU-vid and phones are both things that are prevalent outside of North America...
+duttyow709 in the xperia z3 I have not the z3+ the battery is amazing the best I have ever had in a phone. There is no heat problem with daily use unless you use the camera for extended period of time
THIS IS ALL AFTER USING IT 6 MONTHS --- extremely overheat.. this handset heats like coil or room heater.. nougat update is worst 4 cores stopped working with single drop back glass broken with some pressure it got bent easily (poor built quality ) sony service center doesn't have basic spares (only back glass 3500/- even this part is not available ) Wi-Fi hotspot tethering problem price is very compare to other brands not very handy to normal user volte not supported (when i made call to service center they told me hardware is not compatible - some peoples even do not know about sn810 has its capabilities ) after update its getting worst and worst do not buy sony at all ....
