I have to say. I have been looking for a channel that does essays on Tamil movies. You are doing a great job and have earned a subscriber. I do have one suggestion for a video. You talk a lot about why and how movies work, but you could also do one about why they don't. I think you should talk about Bahubali part 1 and 2 and explain why they feel so jarring compared to foreign blockbusters. I enjoyed those movies and they some brilliant ideas (the opening credits of Bahubali 2, the setpeice of Hamsa Nava, and the war scenes from the first movie), but it had a lot of flaws that many mainstream movies in India have, which really detract from the experience, and those flaws should be discussed. Is it possible to do a video on that? Thank you for making such a thought provoking channel.

I am a big fan of nerdwriter1, wisecrack and lessons from screenplay. Now moving images joins the list. Adding to your take on Chekhov's gun, I feel a good writer disguises the gun/setup by triggering emotions. In the movie Thupparivalan, there was a comical setup of the heroine being a thief. I was so dissolved in the comic element of it that I failed to give enough weightage to that information. When it paid-off at the end(she steals the mobile phone from the villain), I was mind-blown. Good set-ups hide behind emotions.

Kishore, ever Since I watched velaikaran, I wanted to ask your opinion about it. Halfway down the movie, it started stepping on fantasy grounds when a single man taking on the whole food industry which alienated me from the movie and gives the viewer a false hope of one person can change the world. I instantly compared it with the movie 'Joker' which gave a much more realistic approach on fighting the system and still gives hope by ending it with "naalai oor poraatam, veedhikku vaa thozha". What do you reckon? If It was me, I would have ended the movie right after Arivu's mom telling Arivu how she tackled her evil boss and leave the rest to the viewer's imagination :P
