I had the same experience back in June 22 with that same bartender. I just sat there patient as he**. A "big spender" that had been there for a while buying a bunch of rounds for his family noticed and got his attention for me, he also gave me a drink while i waited. The bartender kept bragging to his colleagues about the tips he was getting. I honestly think he was giving special treatment under the belief that black people don't tip. I wont go into where i think he is from, because they do sometimes have a bias. You guys are from NYC so you should catch my drift. IYKYK.
I remember him. He just mad. Personally I went back to Margaritaville restaurant ask for a manager who walked back with me and told him to serve me. The look on his face 😂. I just smiled got my drink and walked away no tip like don't play with me dude. 😁
I’ve never commented before but I just had to on this occasion. As someone from Turks and Caicos, let me apologise for the behaviour of the guy mentioned in the video. We are a warm, welcoming people and this guy does not represent all of us and I’m so sorry you had such an experience at Margaritaville. I do hope this video is seen by those in authority at the cruise port in Grand Turk so that the bartender in question can be disciplined accordingly. Please don’t allow this occurrence to ruin your entire perspective on Grand Turk. Continue to do what you do! As a cruise lover myself your videos keep me very entertained!
I had the same treatment on the boat at one of the bars. I remembered the lady was from Jamaica because she was on another boat and did the same thing she did on this boat. It took for an another dude to walk up and ask if I was served. I tipped dude $20 cash and she looked at me like 😮 and I looked at her like 🙄
I experienced a similar situation in the Bahamas pre-Covid from several Black men and said I’d never go back. But nah…in 2022, I’m calling folks out on the spot. We deserve to be treated equitably.

My cousin and I had an amazing time in Grand Turk. We got off the cruise ship, met and hung out with some really cool locals on the beach, and then went into town to eat, and met more amazing people. Sometimes it’s best to get away from the tourist traps. Grand Turk is small enough to roam around and be back to the ship well within time. Sorry this happened to you guys.
We had the same issue at the bar closer to the beach. I literally had to ask the bartender why she was skipping us. She LEGIT kept serving ppl that were right next to us. And then would move onto the other side. And they all were white. The guy next to me finally said no they were waiting before me... I'll NEVER go back.
Had this same guy as a bartender in June of this year. He was very rude. Not only did he constantly ignore me and people in my party but he would constantly “forget about us” And even told someone in my party that he did not want “our money” and another that we were gonna need more money for him before he even knew the drink order. He had no problems serving any and everyone else around us even serving them multiple times before addressing any of my party.
Not me getting fired up all over again 😭. They definitely put a bad taste in my mouth, I don’t even want to try the new Margaritaville in ATL :(. Leaving the port next time I’m there!

I've been to Margaritaville before and we had a great time. I'm sad that you guys had that experience. If I had never been before and I watched this video I would not have gone. The stuffed mushrooms, is something I probably would have liked, it looked delicious.
I had a cabana at Margaritaville. After 20 mins and being skipped I asked for help. The person said someone else had to help me. I waited 20 more mins for them to come. She wasn't nice either. I didn't appreciate the service either so I didn't spend any money. One of the guy waiters tried to be helpful but at that point I was over the area.
Hey guys, I saw another couple sporting your Melanon tshirts, the guy was from India and wife from the Congo in Africa(I think) with their beautiful lil family. They were celebrating their daughters birthday. They spoke very highly of you guys. Keep up the good works Jazzy and family!!!!!

Just watched this video and you need to write to corporate of that chain of hotel and let them know what this jerk did to you by not serving you but serving everyone else around you-no ma’am! Call corporate of margaritaville and complain because you’re right I believe I also watched travel spree when this happened to them. Don’t let this go. I think the other channel announced his name on their video. The higher ups won’t know this is going on unless you bring their attention to it. There is no excuse for this kind of behavior! So sorry for y’all-I would be mad as heck! Love your videos -thank you for doing them. ❣️
Can't believe that service. Grand Turk is one of my favorite ports and maybe that's because I've never been to Margaritaville. I always go down to Jack's Shack and have a great time. Love the fashion show!
We were on Celebrity for an Alaskan Cruise and when we went to get spa information we had a similar experience. The black staffers in the Spa made sure they took care of the white passengers before getting to us even though we had been waiting longer. After taking care of the white passengers they finally acknowledged us. The staffer assumed we never had spa services and proceeded to provide inaccurate information regarding skin care for black skin. When I corrected her and told her my dermatologist and esthetician would disagree she appeared to be surprised. I shared with her how we waited while she put others in front of us only to get inaccurate information. I advised her can’t judge a book by its cover and it was a missed opportunity for her. Perhaps she needed to step up her game beyond handling Caucasian skin. We left. One of the reasons I was hesitant to do another Celebrity cruise. I mean our green spends like everybody else.
Oh nooo if the rest of your cruise was good don't let the poor ignorant behaviour of one employee deter you from a brand. I was on the Celebrity Infinity out of Port Canaveral in September and I had a great time! I'm trying to put together my coins to return in March 2023 ❤️

Sherik went to get drinks and it took a really long time, so maybe this is what happened to him too… that pumpkin soup looked delish though! Also chefs kiss on the fashion show!
The folks did their thing on the FlowRider! Not my thing either, but that was cool to watch! Good to know that there's that baby-friendly beach-type area! Over an hour to get a drink?!?! Wow! That lack of service was disgusting! Thank you guys for sharing 'cause if we return to Turks & Caicos again, we won't be giving that Margaritaville our business.

I had the same experience back in August with the same guy 2 hours to get two drinks and he was serving non-melinated people first that came after me. Very disappointing

OMG so sorry that you had this bad experience, sure hope that you had a conversation with Carnival Cruise lines to talk to that bar's manager. Thank you for this as I plan on taking this cruise in the near future, re-thinking now, why are they treating people that look like them like this??. I am with Jasmine, I am ordering 4-5 appetizers, 1 main dish and 2 desserts. That is why I sit a table for 2 because I was shamed when sorted at a table as a solo cruiser. I will need room.. I would definitely complain about that bartender, but Margaritaville is a no for me. It’s overrated and crowded
I’m not even getting off the ship in Grand Turk anymore. I’ve been there enough. I’m not for the rudeness anymore. It puts a damper on your vaca. I’ll drink on the ship, it’s safer.
Ok so it wasn’t just me!!! The servers inside the restaurant were even worse with us. I’d been there before many times but I don’t EVER have to go back.
