Sooo, What Can People Actually Farm the Hard Way Now? Lightspeed Bundle Thoughts

The lightspeed bundles are good to invent roster depth when people are missing years of playing. I'd argue as necessary, to get people past a lot of pain points in the game. What to farm? The same thing as it was always intended with games in the genre. The new thing. Have a squirrel moment? Buy a bundle for it. Not going to do either? Then just keep doing what makes you happy.

Maybe BAM team being newer causes the higher price of $20

i love the bundles, but you’re right about the difficulty of planning for sure. im near completion of the see farm but far enough away where a lightspeed bundle would be very helpful, so i feel like i’m having to hold off on completing the farm until i know whether a lightspeed bundle is gonna drop for it or not

I mean, it's very clear that these bundles are supposed to be something for veterans who simply haven't had the time to go after these characters, because they're old and off the beaten path. CG wants to drive engagement with the new toons and not with the characters from years ago, because the more you engage with current content the quicker you catch up to very current content and the more likely you are to start whaling / become more involved with brand-brand new things. I'm currently drowning in Leia, Cal and Aphra requirements for example. Almost all of that is nearly done with the shard farm and I'd be able to grab some rather recent powerhouses, while I'd be looking at my Phoenix team and think "Some day I will get them all to Relics.."

Im very hesitant into starting any new farms. Im a new player too. Was rushing executor day 1 and in total, I've dropped about $800. Knowing almost all my farms are practically given away now leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

I'm so glad you are saying this. It would be wonderful if they gave us some indication of what was safe to farm. The problem with LS bundles is that they undermine new/mid-new players' farms the most. I'm still less than 4mil GP, after playing very sporadically over the years. I've been farming the Finalizer requirements hard (including node refreshes) since the last wave of LSBs came out. In doing so, I felt like I finally understood this game, and the pleasure in long-term incremental progress. Then this new batch of LSBs was datamined. The the Finalizer LSB is still worth it, but with all that work, I could have had a lot of other stuff. Those months of farming are mostly wasted. People say "just farm new characters," but I don't want to farm kyro-heavy new stuff that takes way longer for less benefit. I'd prefer to start with the journey characters and GL requirements. I'd love to start a SEE farm, but I'm not going to dare set off on a year-long farm if there's even a chance an LSB will be released during that time. I'd also like to get the Revans, but I don't know if I dare do that. They would also make an easy target for an LSB. The only really safe thing to do right now is farm Relic mats for characters I acquired through other LSBs. Maybe that's the way they want it.

I'm just over 10M. Things I've stopped gearing up, until a LS bundle arrives for them: 501st, Bad Batch, sep droids, geos, Aphra reqs (I know that one won't be any time soon). I'm working instead on individual booster units, like Fulcrum, Padme, Zorii, Gar and ISC, and raid characters I don't want to wait on (remnants mostly). Not working on Lord Vader, my last GL, at all, because I expect we'll see Bad Batch and 501st bundles at some point, and that's so many kyros saved.

the original lightspeed bundles came out when i was level 84 on my alt account. so i was eventually able to get them. but because i didn't yet have a 7* capital ship i STILL haven't been able to even unlock raddus much less get it to 5*. i wont be able to unlock a 7* cap ship for at least another 2-4 months depending on how often they come out. so i still wont realistically be able to unlock rey or kylo for months. so being able to get chimera is a huge boon as that will allow me to immediately start working on raddus and finalizer rather than waiting months to begin working on them

It's hard to know if you should continue even farming things now. I guess newer characters are safe, but I just pressed pause on a bunch of my farms because I don't know if it's now a waste of time and resources.

I think the game needs these to attract new players, there is way too much content that even with a year of play, they'll barely be able to dent. So I think these are important, however I think stopping at maybe General Anakin, no more GL ones would be perfect. I think doing the bundles to that point would give new players what they need to be able to enjoy new content. So let's see where they go with it.

If youre scared of farming something because it might pop up in a LSB then just farm new characters. Personally, i would just continue farming as normal and then if a LSB happens to come out for your farm then its either worth it or its not depending on how your farm is going. Regardless, you end up with the same characters.

Yes, a time frame would be great. Like 1/1/24 nothing after 2020 will be in this years LS packs. 1/1/25 nothing after 2021 etc...

I feel this deeply as I'm side farming toward the Revans while getting my shiny new GL Rey to relics. Like sure, they are an easy farm, but the toons for Revans feel like a prime target for a LSB so its hard to know if I'm wasting my time right now.

I gotta say that althoigh i am personally a fan of them ( even thoigh i haven't brought one yet ) i dont think they should be for GLs, but journey guide characters its an amazing catchup mechanic that dosnt require 100s of pounds and that can only be a good thing imo, they defo beed to give more notice too

I'm right there with you. I can fully appreciate the need for catch-up mechanics, but honestly, I don't see an end to this when you consider how much money it makes for CG. One of the things I took great pride in was having an EXTREMELY focused roster, something most people who, quite honestly, have zero discipline, don't have. Being able to "punch up" in GAC was something I entirely attributed to my focus. Now, every clown and their brother who previously couldn't complete a single legitimate team is handed 95% of a GL. Again, I get it, catch-up mechanics. If this ended at SLKR and Rey, and MAYBE one "GL ship" (you're halfway to Executor with the Finalizer Req's and other bundles........)., then I'd shrug my shoulders and say "Fine". But, I am legitimately concerned about this going on forever and everything blending into the same roster across all accounts. Granted, we will still be separate by mods, zetas, etc..., but it's a bit disheartening. I was actually pretty upset when the first LSB's were announced, and I didn't have a single character ready from either of those (Rey / SLKR)/ You'd think I would have been happy, but I really wasn't. Side note: I'm also concerned about the release of more GL's. At some point they're going to reach critical mass and they're going to have to do something and limit the # of GL's you can take on O or on D in GAC, things like that... You get to a point where there are so many GL's that the endgame players are literally just going to fill TW's with GL's in every zone... Edit: Additionally, yes, give us more advance notice in a game where some farms literally take months... You tell me a week out that there's going to be a Finalizer bundle? Good thing I spent the last 3 months getting Kylo's shuttle to 6.75 stars... Maybe this is a "woe is me" kind of thing, but really... players, especially players who take pride in planning, are inevitably going to feel shitty about their 3-month farm being invalidated by $10.

Personally I'm moving towards focusing gear/relics now on journey and raid characters (still recently returned after 5+ years off) as well as characters that are 2 years old max. If I end up spending gear on anything else, I'll be stockpiling everything and shoot up the whole team/faction at one time. Kinda sucks cause I really want to finish my DR farm, but JKR/DR are plenty old farms that I HIGHLY expect to get LSBs soon. Maybe without Fallen Bastilla, but who knows.

Yeah got the same feeling. Bundles are great, but I am „afraid“ to farm anything. Even afraid to finish some „obvious, potential“ choices for bundles. Was kinda sure they wont give us exuctor ships, so I kept farming them. Now they sell them us. I guess I will stop farming at all. Will go for gear and only „finish“ the bundles CG offers us(luckily I didn’t start finalizer for kylo). Maybe only gear and will wait to put the gear on until I have finished the whole team. Doesn’t want to gear half a team and then a bundle for the whole team is popping up.

How are you, Songeta? I am worried that these lightspeed bundles will eventually kill the game in the long run. Sure, everyone loves them now, but when more and more come out, the more people will begin to take them for granted. Making it easier for new players do not mean you are truly helping them, more like making them more entitled and spoiled. New players are able to cheat months and even years of grinding normally by spending $10? It is ironic because people complain about games like SWGOH being pay-to-win and how people with more money have an advantage, but I guess everyone is okay with pay-to-win if new players have the advantage. Time in the end cannot be bought with inevitable consequences , but CG is obviously trying to sell that to us which will eventually backfire sooner or later. Hypothetical: End game players start leaving since essentially CG is saying they do not care about all the time and hard work they put in, then the people who bought the light speed bundles are the new end game players, but they lack the experience to understand game strategy and mechanics. Most of them would have used to rely on the end game players and content creators on RU-vid for the best game team comps and etc. But if they leave, no one will be left to tell them what to do. I find it unlikely they would want to put any work into it considering they did not put any effort into their roster in the first place - they were served the silver plate and spoon from the get go.

I completely agree. I really like these, but I'm afraid to farm anything more than a year or so old. Maybe that's what CG wants though.

What facinates me the most on lightspeed bundles is that they ultimately prove how much is swgoh pricing and it's players fucked up - entire community is extaticaly praising that they can buy something in overall price of AAA game. You can buy bunch of characters in mobile game or you can buy for the same price lets say new Legend of Zelda or Baldur's Gate 3... and people are celebrating it like it is second coming if Jesus. Like what the hell?

The $10 are a very blatant attempt at culling the idea of being F2P (and it certainly worked on many, including myself). The idea of paying $10 to save 3-4 months of farming and get straight to a GL is just ridiculous when put through the lens of how much time or money it normally takes. It's well established that the first time you open your wallet is the biggest hurdle to cross psychologically, they want to open more people to the idea of spending. My completely baseless speculation is that they've hit close to a ceiling on how much they can monetize their whales, so they are looking to get more revenue by creating more fish and dolphin spenders. It also accelerates people along into more competitive GAC brackets, which in turns gives them an incentive to spend resources on datacrons (which might sell more conquest passes). Whether or not all of this is good for us as players is somewhat subjective, I think giving small to mid sized accounts the option of jumping ahead 2-3 GLs (we'll see what the next few packs are like) for less than $50 total certainly makes the game more accessible for newer players. At the same time it's also demoralizing for veteran players to feel like their grinds have been cheapened by selling the same thing for the price of a large Starbucks coffee. At any rate I suspect this will be highly profitable for CG, so there's no reason to expect it to stop.

One in the hand is worth two in the bush.......Farm what you want to farm. If a LSB happens, and you want to buy it, good for you. If not, no worries. You should NOT stop a farm for fear of a bundle coming out later.

The next pack will no doubt be Ewoks, because that's what I'm farming atm. All that energy I could have thrown into kyrotech nodes and spent ten bucks instead, but what can you do...

Yeah, gotta agree. Im true f2p and you know and this just hurts so bad. 90% of my opponents bought the last ls bundles and now even more ones! Now these whales just get good deals and leave us f2p in the dust. Wishing this were not happeneing . . . .

It's a little unfair. You can spend a few months on your farming characters, and then you can see, that you can just pay 10$ and get then instantly with 7 stars and 5 relic. I mean i've spended a lot of time and resourses to upgrage chacters for Mando with beskar. And all with was for nothing, because i can just pay 10$ now.....

Been playing since day 1, 9,5 mil gp cause i took 2 year break, don't see a problem with it, imo it should be always available to all players, there is no reason to be angry about this, without getting new people into the game this game will eventually die, these toons are all more than 3 years old. The moment we got the first bundles CG send a direct message to everyone, they want you to go for the new stuff and not the old stuff, if you not gonna spend a single cent farm as you were, if you dont mind cashing out 30 to 50$ every few months go for only the new toons

I'm still 100% F2P. Those packs are amazing yes, but even though i van afford it ive always loved the challenge of testing my limits like this. 4.9mill GP, 3 GL's, GI, Executor and Aurodium 3!

I farmed almost all of Phoenix to relic 3 instead of farming Leia Reqs.I also farmed ackbar over things like lobot because I thought he would be more useful and now it costs 10 dollars to get everything. Fml 🤦

BAM bundle being my first relic ruined the moment lol. I am about 1/2 way from G12 to G13. Probably could have bought it later now that it's around for a whole month. It was a good bundle since I was not paying those toons any attention and I did want Greef and Mando, but I think after a long grind the feeling of accomplishment is way better. It didn't feel nice just buying it. Happy to support devs, though.

These characters are so old it doesn’t change much. Also, Game isn’t designed for free to play. These bundles should always be available for purchase in the Journey Guide.

Not keen on your negativity to wards LS bundles...why don't you want the player base to have nice things? You answered your question yourself, the newest characters are 3 years, so players can farm stuff 2 years or newer in confidence that it will be 1-2 years before it appears in a LS bundle, if it ever appears.

Its a slap in my F2P face. Took me 3+ months to farm for GL Kylo, now any turd with $10 can match my hard work. Not that I'm not used to CG slapping me.

I like the lsb but i think id still prefer the characters be at g12 and add training droids, gold and ability mats instead of giving us relic

haters gonna hate lol these characters are so old and this game is measured in YEARS. giving someone a year bump is basically nothing. there are people who have been playing 5 years and still don't have all the characters.

Dude, if you cannot afford them or do not want them, don't cry about it. If it is an afford issue, head to your local IBEW and you will never be poor again. I live where they don't permit outside of country purchases - get over it. With the economic crash that is coming, and if you do not own property to grow on or have chickens - you're screwed anyway. Thank the whales and krakens - they are the ones who support the game.

I almost spent $28 for ig/kruill from g12 to r5, and mando from g9 lol
