Gilda does die later. The sopranos is not dying here dear, she is just enraptured by love ! Miss Lee is acting out the scene. Maybe a bit over acting, but she is young and perhaps far more used to stage acting than used to being before cameras .In any case her portrayal is accurate .Gilda has never known the company of any man but her father and she is overwhelmed with passion, infatuation and romantic fantasies of this Young Student , who is of course the lecherous Duke in disguise. I think it is moving miss Lee's immersion in this young ,innocent ,girls romantic fantasy.
