Finally? She is a famous singer. This song was a worldwide hit some 20 years ago, it was played EVERYWHERE 😍 and she had more mayor hits like Groovejet.
What I love about her is that she has sang this song 1000's of times, and every time she fully seems to enjoy it. She has such a joyful presence and it's infectious, especially live.
@@intheplums It wasn't played on the U.S. pop chart. Maybe in the gay clubs one could've heard it, but it wasn't on the mainstream radio the year it was released.
Oh my, me too, many a Saturday night out rocking the green sparkles inspired by Sophie! 🤣. I recently found out the make-up artist for that video was Louise Conrad, who is also Helena Bonham Carter’s MUA. Iconic look, iconic song, iconic video. 💃🏽🕺🏻
It must be almost twenty years ago that I first heard (and saw) Sophie singing this song, and miraculously she still looks the same. The reason I used the word Miraculously is that in those intervening years she has had FIVE children. She is simply fantastic. I hope that she still will be keeping her feet on the ground, but I strongly suspect that the lure of the fame and fortune in the USA will be a huge temptation for her. Thank you so much Sophie for giving millions of people like me, some fabulous memories. Good Luck Girl, you go on doing what you do.
Out of all her recent performances of this song, I think this is the best. Those strings really help that disco vibe! Also, how luminous does she look! S.E-B forever!
I saw Sophie live just before Xmas, she was tremendous. She doesn’t seem to age and is such a classy performer. I personally think Hana is her best album, but it’s great to see her having a resurgence in popularity with this classic.
What a beauty. She played live at a nightclub I worked at in my teens, between 1999-2001. I got a sweet smile from her backstage while I was scooping up a bucket of ice from the ice machine 😆. She has aged like fine wine. There’s only one explanation, Sophie Ellis-Bextor is a vampire!
Every live performance I've watched of this song has been absolutely flawless. I wonder if she's getting tired of performing the same song over and over in the past few months haha
This song has always been in my miscellaneous playlist, because I think it’s a good song from the musical era around the year 2000. And it’s so nice it’s finding a new audience and Sophie & her band are doing these live performances again. ❤
Saw her live in Boston on June 4th, what a great show she put on. I really think she is besides her with the resurgence of the song and her North American tour.
The performance you shared is truly amazing. It's incredible how it still has that same groove and brings back such wonderful memories after more than 20 years. It's a testament to the power of music to inspire and uplift us throughout our lives.
Remember listening to this in early 2000''s as a teen in Poland , now it's back on the radio again , love it. Great tune ,same as "Me And My Imagination"
I am from Colombia and since I was a teenager this song was always playing on videos channels and radio. Now, many years after it's now a master piece, she deserves it and more. 😊
If you are going to have a catchy pop song stuck in your head this is a damn good one for that to happen. Never saw Saltburn but this song and Sophie are everywhere. Not sure how much airplay it got in America when it first came out but it is exploding on RU-vid. And Sophie sounds great in each video I have seen. She is seriously one of the coolest people on this planet!
ESA CANCION LA ESCUCHE CUANDO TENIA 12 AÑOS ... LA BAILE LA GOZE Y AHORA ME SALTA EL CORAZON AL VER QUE NUEVAMENTE SE OYE ..... GRACIAS A LA PELÍCULA QUE ME ENCANTO
Carrying my love for Sophie through the years: first time heard her songs when i was 13, visited her several concerts, now i'm in my 30s and she is still incredible
I'm almost 45 filipino I know this song 20plus yrs ago. Its in my mp3 list. Listening to ot if im in a good dancing mood. First saw her in MTv awards as presentor she was lime a porcelain doll back then and amaze how she looks the same after 5 children. Glad she gets more recognition that she deserves. She was the pandemic disco diva.
We've loved her music for 20+ years, and I had the privilege of seeing her live a couple of years ago, and she was amazing. So happy that she's getting continued recognition through this latest acclaim for 'Murder on the Dance Floor', she deserves it. Please check out her other songs too, they're great.
My mam always says everything has a way of coming back around to being “popular”. I remember this being on so many kids disco playlists as a kid and hearing it come back as an adult is class!
