i bought this record while a student at UCLA here in California and I loved it. It was big in the gay clubs but not anywhere else in America. But NOW to see it gain resurgence I am so happy for HER. This song is wonderful and America is sometimes real slow to catch up. better late than never Glad she gets to experience this excitement.
Americas are missing thousand of good British songs, I'm Brazilian and I'm living in Belfast recently and discovering lots of songs that were hits here but not in the other side of Atlantic.
She was well known in the NYC electro / house scene in the late 90s/early '00s. You couldn't escape Spiller Groovejet (If this Ain't Love) back then. It was a veritable staple of any good play list. Fond memories.
Who would bother trying to rag on her. Shes so likeable and doesn't take herself too seriously. Theres nothing to dislike about her - shes a great role model and seems like a beautiful person inside and out. Either you like her or shes just not your thing. I doubt anyone goes around actively disliking her. Especially since shes big from another era, and people dont hate on artists from two decades ago. Shes not a current mega star like Taylor Swift, where its probably cool to say you dont like her to a lot of people. Theres no army of fans to get offended and wound up any hate comments.
I have always liked Sophie, she does not rely on gimmicks to make her sound good, she just sings, and I thought that that was all she did....That is until I saw her on the Brit version of Strictly Come Dancing. She was an absolute knockout. Five children and she sings and dances like a twenty year old. FANTASTIC!!!
so cool video on the river! great idea of seven. and sophie is amazing. and this song cameback to the European charts! and USA too first time after 22 years!
Men lose their hair when they age, either sooner or later, in a bunch of possible ways including just thinning out noticeably without receding or bald spots. Both men and women have to dye their grey hair if they want to look young. Both are inclined to gain weight with age. And wrinkles of course. I think Sophie can afford to maintain the hair and wrinkles just with her money but she really is genetically blessed to have the same figure as 20 years ago and 5 kids. Shes very likable. Doesn't take herself so seriously and seems like a fun person. Her husband is so lucky.
