It's not enough to say SOPHIE was my favorite artist, she was so much more. A pioneer of exotic sounds, a true visionary, a symbol of radiant self love. Thank you for everything you've blessed us with, may you shine just as bright wherever you're at now.
I was around 15 or 16 when i discovered Sophie. And it was through this absolute banger of a song. I used to commute to my cousin’s house (who lived on another island) on weekends. I used to get harassed a lot for being “too feminine” i would play this song and walk down the road and it would make me feel like a superhero. I’m 25 now, and this song still has the same effect on me every time I listen to it. Your music truly touched me in ways I can’t even begin to explain Sophie. Your sounds made my whole body and mind vibrate at higher levels of consciousness. I will miss you so so soooo much. Rest in peace. Heaven’s raves are about to be banging. I love you.
@@sophieplumbob2900 yeah, they kept teasing it even after the Chromatica release. it seems like SOPHIE x GAGA might actually happen, but I don't trust Gaga and her team anymore lol
@@dylanfallon6720 gaga literally could've had the best dance album of all time if she just let SOPHIE even a couple dance tracks on Chromatica. And don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore the entire album, but gaga really missed the chance to make history. I mean Sophie is a literal genius when it comes to sound design.
@@liammcgee5664 @Liam Mcgee I think it was wise of Gaga to stick with the sound she had with Chromatica. SOPHIE's production shines best when its just fun and experimental. Chromatica is nothing like that. BUT, I agree that she's missing a huge opportunity by not collaborating with SOPHIE. I can't even fathom how crazy it would be like, especially when no other producer is involved, just SOPHIE. Gaga is a force and a collab with SOPHIE will surely shift the sound of pop music for the next few decades.
I can’t even describe the impact this song has had on my life. Listening to this has given me so much peace when walking away from toxic situations. The simplest things are the most genius. When there’s nothing else to say - a situation is done. But this song as it goes through, gets more positive and liberating. THIS song has inspired me on so many occasions to walk away with my head held high. I am devastated to hear about SOPHIE’s passing. Her art will live on FOREVER! She has impacted my life in a way no other artist has. THANK YOU❤️
Though I have to agree this was a really great debut, I don’t think she was and/or is fully comfortable with this for her own personal music. She can still make music like this, as her producing credits show. I just think she made this single the way it is because it has that PC Music kind of cheeriness, and having her heavy synths would ruin the tone.
This is actually the mashup that SOPHIE of EEEHHH and Nothing More To Say not the original version here is the version in this video: soundcloud.com/annie-mac-presents/free-music-monday-sophie here is the original EEEHHH: soundcloud.com/huntleyspalmers/h-n-p-006-b and the original vocal and dub edits of Nothing More To Say: original vocal edit: soundcloud.com/huntleyspalmers/h-n-p-006-digi and the original commissioned dub edit by SOPHIE: soundcloud.com/huntleyspalmers/h-n-p-006-a
Is anyone else a fan of Yasutaka Nakata, the Japanese producer behind Capsule, Perfume and Kyary Pamyu Pamyu? This reminds me a bit of his work, with the music box melodies. It's such a great song.
I love his tracks and melodies! This does sound like something he'd make at times! Also i somehow didn't know about Capsule so thanks for this comment!
A great retro garage house track. Reminds me of the tracks I’d dance too at the Gardening Club in Covent Garden back in the mid-90s. Such a tragic loss. RIP beautiful
This is simply one of the best songs I ever heard in my whole life. It deeply recharges the energy of my soul. Seriously, this song deserves the world, one grammy, whatever!
I can't believe this masterpiece is actually a mix of her two songs from her first EP... she is a fucking genius... she is changing the way we see/feel electronic music
Sophie has (and is) SO ahead of her time that 7 year old bops sound contemporary. I was just thinking about that listening to Venus by Azealia Banks too. Such visionaries.
@@cereyza It's no suprise to me that the same people who listen to SOPHIE also listen to Azealia Banks as well. We have taste sis LOL. (both artists are sooooo underrated, just imagine if they came together!)
I remember listening to this on the train and dancing in my head, and keeping Sophie all to myself. I never knew she would be this iconic, now and then. I always find my way back to sophie when I'm need of a new sound, and all her songs will always be timeless!! ♥
I wish I heard the news sooner so I could play this song, and remember the nights I spent, dancing in my room to the ethereal bops SOPHIE has blessed my ears with when I was down and out. She saved me then, and she's keeping me going now. I love you SOPHIE, and I hope you're dancing on the moon with us.
This was the first thing I heard from SOPHIE - I immediately fallen in love with this music. Now I cannot imagine hearing something as exiting as SOPHIE again. It really feels like we have lost some part of the future - rest in peace SOPHIE.
Sophie is eternal. There're very few artists I'd call truly unique, but Sophie is one of them. It's wonderful when someone finds success being themselves, she lights a fire within me, encouraging me to create, discover what I have to offer the world, to embrace it. Embrace all aspects of urself, believe in urself, be pretentious, but don't take things too seriously, it's a waste of time. Trying to be someone else is an insult to yourself
Rip legend this was the first song I ever heard of. Yours. I am so grateful I found you so early on. Thank you so much for helping me transition and letting your songs help me through my journey. You will be missed so much. I love you
Wow, she's gone? Wow...no way...this song brings me so much joy..thank you Sophie, really, I listen to this when I'm in any mood and it just feels so good to my soul...RIP you angelic being, brought heaven to earth in the form of a godly song...
This is still one of my favourite songs in general. It just has everything I need. It's a halpy song, it's a sad song, it's an energetic song, a song of references.
Hi! 😊 Its my favourite song too!! So... Do u know what says the vocals? (From intro) I am not a english speaker... I only want know the meaning of lyrics. I just hear: "yeah yeah goodbye" 😂😂
Wow. I’m speechless. I’ve been listening to her for a few years, but I had never heard this one. This song is full of so much energy. I will never be able to get over her leaving us. The more I discover by her the harder it gets, but I am so thankful to experience her art and for what her music has done for me 💔
I will always cherish my teen days with SOPHIE music, thank you for make my days happier with your art, wish you could still be here creating and making us happy. 💔
When this part of the song comes on, I can't help but imagine a 80s gym class with fit men with moustache saying Hum each time they make a physically demanding move. A mood.
this song has accompanied me on every major journey of my life - it carries me through any difficult situation through its effortless simplicity: there is nothing more to say !!
Might I ask how you know about the unreleased collab? I'm new to Sophie but I like her and I've known about Hannah Diamond, I just don't know how I'd go about finding unreleased music. Thanks
Velcro here it is soundcloud.com/furisodation/hannah-diamond-hd-prod-sophie-pop-cube-snippet i found most of the unreleased music i know about by lurking in the r/pcmusic subreddit but now i joined the sophie discord and i’ve found a whole shit ton since then.
I can't stop the tears, I know you've returned home, and that I'll be able to finally see you when I inevitably reach that place too. I love you Sophie.
Does anyone know where I can get this ultra aesthetic image / photo, so that I can set it as a cover art for this actual song (the audio file on my smartphone) ?
Perfect dance/disco/whatever anyone wants to call it. She was so talented. Everything fits together like a puzzle. Everyone I show these songs to loves them
