To be fair, being 20 years behind bars is tough. That's going in at 25 and coming out at 45. Can you imagine all the best decades lost? No wonder Tony can't reason with him. He is hardened, bitter and most likely he thinks none of them can relate to him nor understand his standpoint really. And that's completely true, hence the finger he gives Tony.
