a warmup/practice of painting without thinking. a weird method i've been messign with for about a year or so now to improve my body language in my no reference art.it's sloppy and as usual i never finish these as i consider them as a visual puzzle and the moment i figure out the solution to the visual problem i lose interest. suffice to say i would be a terrible illustrator XD

It really amazes me how you don't start off with rough outline sketch and paint it off in one layer 🙌🙌🙌

You say you would make a terrible illustrator but you are one of the best illustrators I've ever seen. You and Jim Lee have inspired me to start taking art seriously and doing it everyday.

Haha yeah coupled with the fact Photoshop hardly made any improvement at all for digital painting, thats why for example I'm slowly swtiching to clipstudio.

Im sorry if you‘ve answered this question before, but why did you delete the xenomorph stream video? It had some incredibly useful insights on photoshop but also on the comic industry, and i liked rewatching it from time to time...
@nebezial1
@nebezial1 4 года назад
i didn't think anyone cared so i deleted that one and a bunch of others.i was never that dedicated to youtibe so at some point i decided to try these sped up short videos and summarized my tips in more of a tutorial type videos. but then i gave up half way through because i have the concentration ability of a cat around a laser pointer

I think he explained it in one of his videos. That he doesn't need any of the newer features and that he's not a fan of Adobe's subscription plan thing. I think it was something along those lines.
@frejazz2

plus he likes the blending tool in cs3 its his custom made blender
@RogerioPereiradaSilva77
@RogerioPereiradaSilva77 4 года назад
Actually I think the question should be the other way around: why are people so willing to part ways with their money on an Adobe subscription plan when everything they might need is available on older iterations of Photoshop (or even on other painting apps - I'm a Krita fan myself) that they might have already paid for and fully own it? I can see the argument for people that retouch and manipulate photos for a living needing the latest and greatest but apart from some layer effects used for the glow effect on the eletric beam, everything Stjepan does here can be easily accomplished with any painting program with a decent brush engine and layer blending modes. You would be surprised to see what people have been able to create for FREE with things like Autodesk Sketchbook, Krita, MyPaint or AZPainter.
@BombaJead
@BombaJead 4 года назад
@@RogerioPereiradaSilva77 Exactly, I have been using Photoshop for close to 10 years now and for digital painting the program has remained basically unchanged seems like adobe doesn't know a big part of their users are digital painters (or maybe they just don't care), lately I've been using clipstudio instead and finding much more useful features and overall better brush engine.
@nebezial1
@nebezial1 4 года назад
it gets the job done. it's stable, and my blending brush works well there.
