Attention the nail polish mia is semie permanent and is not durable like all nail polish, there is no permanent varnish for that, that’s why we use dreve lake3, egger or detax shellac, and that’s why they are more expensive too ;)
I can't do this tiny work myself anymore because i have parkinson's. I do built some giant hifi speakers. Maybe one pair every three or four months. I like to watch you making and destroying IEM's. I hope I can buy one of them from the next batch. They look awesome.
Hi Hi-Fri, I bought a used set of Aphex and absolutely love the sound. However the fit is bad for me. The shell is large and combined with the angle of the nozzle I can't get a good fit. Really bummed. If you can make an Aphex2 (Twin? lol) with a smaller shell, let's gooooooo!!!!!!
Wow! Hello, is there an alternative way of making myself into the orderlist to become an owner of the Apex? Years ago I decided to not use facebook as a result of terrible practices and lack of help when fraudulent accounts with my name were opened. But definitely would love to cooperate to your endeavor, and add DIY iems to my colecction from someone who has walked the entire hobby inside and out. This first iteration looks amazing. As much as i like Aphex Twin, I like Autechre even more and would've loved to see an IEM named after them. Maybe your next IEM will be BoC for Boards of Canada? Or maybe Bonobo? Maybe including the freq respone or just general tips on how they sound would be good. But even at $85 International they are super tempting. Best of luck with this endeavour.
I will have more info on tuning and sound soon. I just want to keep the impressions to other people as I don't like to describe my own iem's. But I will post a graph soon and talk briefly about some of it's qualities.

Yeah I've tried a lot of huayunxin speakers, they're pretty good. My favorite is the HT10. How to tune iem's you will either need a graphing rig or a lot of time and patience. Here's how the dampeners effect the sound. Front vent = bass amount. Nozzle = treble amount/mid amount. This can also change the bass slightly because it builds up pressure the more you add mesh to the nozzle. Back of DD vent = ratio of mid-bass to upper mids. The best thing to do is go buy yourself a cheap iem you can mod and buy a bunch of dampener/mesh/foam and experiment with adding/removing/combining tuning materials.
Yeah for sure. Most of the time they're on the shell though and I thought this would be cool like MiM DM which is one of the few iem I know that have a vent on the nozzle. :-)

Hi, thanks for the question. I will try to have a commerce website or sales email contact setup in future. This first batch is mostly a funding round to help fund future batches and give back to my friends who have been following this endeavor but I will definitely open it up to more people if reception is good and as more units become available.
Aphex Twin lifted the name Aphex from a professional sound processing company that's still in business today, so I don't think either Aphex or Aphex Twin will mind 😉
