3rd degree black belt in taekwondo, it actually doesn’t take much to get a black belt besides time. You just have to learn the 5 stances, learn how to properly do like 10 different kinds of strikes, and be able to break 1.5” worth of pine (usually 2 boards that are .75” each). There’s some memorization with your forms, but that’s just remembering the order of the above strikes you learned. Some physical fitness is involved but even if you’re out of shape you can get through it if you try. Total time to get to black belt is 2 years. Basically a black belt is just saying you know the basics, kinda like graduating elementary school. Not hard, just takes some time. It gets hard when you go from one level of black belt to the next. I couldn’t get the flexibility to get past 3rd
Strongly depends on which one you did it with. I was with Taekwondo Association of Great Britain and it took me like 6-8 years (I forget), and I passed everything. And you had to learn Korean throughout. And do some refereeing for 2nd dan (degree).
It's wild, I live in Australia which is clearly massive, the 6th largest country, but we only have about the same amount of people as North Korea. You can fit about 65 North Koreas into Australia lol
As a Karate practitioner for 13 years now and a Black Belt 1st Dan I can assure you in real karate we don’t break any block or anything at all, and yes there is a standardized test which consists in a practical physical segment and a theoretical objective test
Around the 29:00 minute mark when he did the quiz on Christianity theres a picture of MLK Jr in the top left. I didnt actually focus on it at first and out of the corner of my eye it looked exactly like Anthony Mackie and I didn't even question it. I was just like ok A-Mack must be part of the church somewhere in his free time. Then I finally focused on the picture like 3 picks in and I realized who it was and nearly spat out my drink laugh at myself. Yikes.
