@@fragrancememoir2350 I did enjoy it, but ended up passing it along. I still think it's a lovely scent, just not one I would reach for over others. Did you buy it?
@VeronicaSays I just commented a little bit ago so I still have it along with a bunch of other "oddball" selections lol so there all still sitting in my cart until I I'm done looking them all up. I know it's extremely inexpensive, but I've realized that I've spent a lot of money over the years buying "extremely inexpensive " frags out of curiosity that are just collecting dust lol (unless I've gifted them away which I also end up doing a lot of). Thank you so much for responding & I Love your reviews! 😊
I love this one when it dries down! The beginning smells exactly like baby magic baby lotion to me. Not johnson & johnson, but baby magic! But dries down to a beautiful powdery vanilla maybe musk on me. Love it
Wonderful! I know there are people that totally love this one. I'm not sure I've ever smelled Baby Magic, but it definitely has a baby product kind of opening. 😊
Catching up on the fragrance vids, love yours btw! Anyway, Sun is one of my all time favs! I’ve kept in my rotation for some years now! Funny story...I first smelled this at a friend’s house when I used her bathroom. After I washed my hands of course, I saw some of her perfume bottles off to the side, and being my nosy self had to smell them. This is one that stood out immediately! I asked her where she got it from, and she told me at a shop in Germany! Needless to say I went home and searched for it only to find it on eBay at the time. It was being sold for a reasonable price so I bought it. Then I noticed a few years later that it was on some perfume sites, and bought more. It’s one I can’t be without. While I wouldn’t classify it necessarily as a beach scent either as you said, it does remind me of being at the beach with my family growing up. Especially on the dry down. Like, being on the beach for some time and the suntan lotion has worn off some, mixed with a little ocean air, salt, mixed with your skin, then leaving the beach and going back to the room and walking in the cool air conditioning and the smell of the room. It does have that powdery, doll sorta sent, but yes, in a really great way. I guess that’s why it reminds me of those days being younger because I really liked and still do like powdery scents as long as they’re not overdone. I’m wanting to try some of the other fragrances by Jil Sander as well and will probably avoid Sun Delight, bc while I might be a fart sometimes, I don’t want to smell like one!😂 Anywho, sorry for the book I wrote! Hope everyone is having a great evening! Thank you for your videos. I really enjoy them!😀
So lovely to hear your experience with this one. I especially appreciate the very precise scent-related image of returning to the air conditioned hotel room after the beach. A lot of people love Jil Sander. Yes, maybe avoid Sunlight for now and try some others. 🥴😳
This is my favorite daytime frag of all times. I have several back up bottles. It smells exactly like sun tan lotion in Germany. This in the day time on a casual vacation day and Shalimar in the night. The only two fragrances I need if I could only own two.
This is the one that I wore when I was 18 and living in Geneva as a nanny *gasp! I went from Gloria Vanderbelt (the original) to this. Fragrance journey indeed. I remember thinking the name was so very apt as I wore it in the hot, sunny, dusty summer months in the evenings. I mean, at the time I also lived exclusively on cigarettes, cappuccino and Mövenpick ice cream, so what the heck did I know? I hope the family likes it better than the other Jill Sander! My coffee and Veronica time has come to a close. *sigh. Have a great day, gorgeous! xoxoox
A nanny in Geneva huh? How about that? I could totally imagine you with a cappuccino in one hand and a cigarette in the other in your youth. Love that!!
Well this sounds a little too interesting! I was hoping for a sunny, tropical, beachy banana scent but I guess not. These Jil Sander frags kinda scare me LOL Got my Pop Electric G today and I really like it! Haven't actually worn it yet but first sniff say's it's a good one! Thanks for the recommendation on it🌞💛✨
Awesome! So glad you like Electric G. It's such a great little fragrance! 🤩 Yeah I am not so crazy about this Jil Sander one. It's fine - nothing wrong with it. Just not what I was expecting. 🤷♀️
Morning Veronica!! My SOTD is Elie Saab Girl of Now. (On the fence, it's definitely not a love) Mojann from the Nosetalgic loves Jil Sander fragrances. She spent a lot of time in Europe and it seems like they are very popular there. Died when you said banana doll head 😆
I really like Girl of Now! You should have no trouble selling it if you decide you don't like it. I think you are right - Jil Sander has more of a following in Europe than the states.
Hi! Sun is very old perfume, maybe it did smell suntanny back then. Now it is very nice, complex and long lasting cozy cold weather scent. It brings the sun in winter, keep it and try it then 🙂
Thank you Sunci. I can appreciate why people like this. It does have some appeal, but I think I may let this one go. Do you have other Jil Sander fragrances?
@@VeronicaSays lol it’s not for me. When people like strange smells sometimes that can be nothing or a sign of ANEMIA lol, it’s called PICA and most folks get it when their pregnant, Women that are Anemic love strange smells like plastic, clay, play dough, detergent, starch, dirt lol and more. Sorry that where my brain 🧠 went 😆
Did you ever use Bain De Soleil Orange Gelee (which as a side note, the brand Vacation reintroduced and I need to get my hands on to see if they got the scent right)? I heard some comparisons of this perfume to that scent. I’m a 52 year old American, but I do remember Banana Boat, Bonne Bell and some others had some amber-y smelling after sun lotions, and I’m curious if this might be similar to those scents. And I’m familiar with some of the European sun products, so I don’t know.. Anyways I’m so curious to get this but I worry I might hate it :D.
