The 2025, which will be released soon has received some major improvements. ~30% gain in range, improved heat pump, revamped rear motor, faster charging, a bit lighter and more energy dense batteries. Out of Spec did a California range test that was extremely impressive.
We have had a plugin hybrid for over 5 years. IT has been awesome. Pretty much free transportation for me. And noone has to worry about any range anxiety or finding a charging station.
In the good old days if it passed the $20 bill test it was fast. The bet was we put a $20 bill on the dash and if the passenger could reach it before the car hit 60 mph it was theirs nobody ever got the 20 from the Cuda.
Carbon rotor stator, anyone? This is how Tesla avoided a second gear, in a cheaper car. Porsche is out of its lane, trying to compete with Tesla on the street (and they just beat them on the 'Ring, with a **prototype** @7:05). @@engineer775
As someone that has extensively driven both, I own a Tesla because it's objectively better unless you're crazy into panel gaps. The software, efficiency, convenience, etc, everything is better (including the motors and drive train). The torque is higher, the traction control is better, for example.
