I don't like seeing the singers on stage... I like seeing them just like this. Raw, in their natural state, where the emotion and technique flow optimally. This impromptu setting really deals. That's probably some of the most beautiful music I have ever heard.

A phenomenal experience! Only having discovered Ledisi recently, I'm still on a learning roller coaster! This interview fills in some of her past and her foundations. Superb to hear of her past and her family and her training. She is clearly a brilliant and talented woman and I just can't wait to see her in concert in Melbourne, Australia. There is a large live music scene here which she would enhance to no end. And I would totally adore her to do a predominately jazz performance alongside of the more recent experiences. You go girl! And you come to Melbourne, soon, please!
You mentioned her backup singers...the term BACKUP should not be used! Accompanied by maybe? They are incredible on their OWN! if viewers of this show take a look at the "backup" singers, they are impressed by her capabilities! It takes A DAMN LOT to impress "backup" singers! Luther Vandross was a "backup" singer! Take it EASY!
Ledisi is always way enthused (and justifiably so) about any project she's currently doing or promoting but why does she have to negate her pervious work in order to do so. I would hope its all the truth. Ledisi is the current edition of the vocal bible imo.
Ledisi, you are blessed in your spirit and was appalled, but not surprised how beYAWNce played politics with Common and John Legend and made them let her sing the song Amazing Grace that you performed in the film Selma and was supposed to sing at the Grammy's that night and instead they let her manipulate them to let her sing, while you where sitting there in the audience watching her steal your shine...but God helped you deal with her demonic spirit. You have a better way better voice and a way better spirit than she does and let God guide you and see how you overcome those demons that are put in your face. Keep doing you and staying true to yourself. We all know and love your true talents, no gimmicks, no filters....she needs a large stage production, while you are the real deal.
tell them your story...this people have to get over this....we all got a story to tell...judgment comes from lacking self....we all deal with it...judgement vs admiring....be happy she has found the love in Self...so we can teach and imspire
