Hopefully we get to see an updated re-release of the entire series. Embracer Group (who owns Crystal Dynamics) put out a LoK survey a few months ago to gauge interest in the series. They expected 7000 responses and got nearly 100000. Hopefully, this bodes well for seeing our beloved Kain and Raziel returning to modern platforms.
This at least makes me extremely hopeful that the series either gets a make over or a reboot or (as unlikely as it’ll be) a sequel. Now I already know why a sequel would be the least likeliest to happen but I’m still throwing that out there. Everything else, please please pretty please.
Sometimes feel a bit of fear of they touching in this game again. It was and still is so epic that do remake, sequel or whatever looks quite rischy. Visiting this game and today require from they a work really superior. Anything less than perfection is unaceptable.
This game, as any other that was born in Psx, deserves, at least, a remaster. More precisely THIS game here... It's sad that the creators doesn't look like have the same wish as the fans. What a monstruous work we have here, congrats for ALL that is making this game more incredible that it's already are.
Man, my favourite games of all time. I recorded all the cutscenes on VHS when i played Them back when they came out. I hope they remaster them without changing the story at all. And come out with a sequel. And dont ruin it with a fixed camera. Defiance was still awesome but wouldve been more awesome. I wish someone could remake Defiance with 360 camera view. Im glad to see how strong this community is.
This has literally been the only series I want to play on new platforms. I’m fine with just a remaster but can you imagine if they went and completely remade it in newest graphics?!
The crazy thing is that back in the day this game was already amazing looking. I remember the first time I ever saw the first cutscene where Raziel gets his wings ripped off and cast down that was one of the most incredible looking things I had ever seen in a game and still to this day I think those cut scenes hold up. I would love a new Soul Reaver.
It really feels like the original is better because you can not see the flaws so clearly and it adds to the whole atmosphere of end of time. Not even sure about the remake or a remaster. Not to diminish your work at all, its absolutely great and I understand why you did it.
Perfect example of a game series that actually would benefit from a remaster. The potential is there, but it aged not so well. Cautiously, and i mean CAUTIOUSLY, optimistic with all the recent news the past year or so.
Probably the only way we can get a similar quality story is if they bring in Amy Hennig once again. Otherwise, there's only doom. That lady is a literary phenomenon and is the mother of many successfully well written stories in videogames.

Maybe I hold an unpopular opinion, but I like the original graphics better. They're darker, and more fitting to the ruined world. The enhanced HD graphics, while they do look sharp and crisp, are too clean and glossy. Not enough grime, rust, or age to the details takes away from the feeling of being in the ruins of structures that have been around for well over a thousand years.
A Blue Point faria um trabalho digno no Soul Reaver, do mesmo jeito que eles fizeram em Shadow of the Colossus e Demon's Souls, colocaram gráficos de nova geração sem mudar absolutamente nada do jogo original.
I don't approve some of those HD textures. 0:53 These textures don't blend well with other surfaces. The columns in the pillar's chamber thankfully have an in-game shadow that helps. 0:56 whereas in the Underworld, that column's texture is the one that provides the blending. 2:32 Max Payne is that you? 3:54 Huh, the Sarafan logo wasn't there before. It's clearly taken from SR2. It feels weird to see it in SR1. 4:59 Glass texture on the left is slightly misaligned (if it can be helped). 5:05 Inner glass is the same texture or the video editing in this clip was cut prematurely. 5:25 The depiction looks more like an alien than a vampire.

Please do not run executables you find in RU-vid video descriptions. This one automatically connects to 6 different IP addresses when you run it, 4 are tcp connections and 2 are udp connections (udp is the kind of connection you use for streaming video and shit which is extremely sussy and is spyware/RAT behavior.) I ran it through virus total and looked at the program behavior
I developed an overview of the entire map on the Unity engine, unfortunately the motivation to finish it was gone. Perhaps I will return to the project later.
