Yana ji, the original Sarada Peetham is in POK and was destroyed by Muslims of Pakisthan. The one you have visited is recently constructed in our side of the closest possible place to the original one. To my knowledge, a Peetham or Matham is a monastry and a mandir is a temple . And a Hindu monastries always have associated temples too.

The stone of the idol is from Karnataka state as you mentioned. The consecration of the temple is also done by His Holiness Sri Vidhushekara Bharathi Swamiji, the 37th pontiff of Sharadha Peeth, Sringeri, Karnataka on 5th of June this year. Being a person from Karnataka, I feel extremely happy for the close nexus between the two great states of India across centuries as the Adi Shankaracharya, who established the Sharadha Peeth at Sringeri, Karnataka, also ascended the Sarvajana peeth in Sharadha Peeth in Kashmir by defeating various pandits propagating different schools of Philosophy through logic. Kashmir was always known for its intellectual supremacy across India dating back to millenniua. Hope for the return of the past glory. Thanks for your informative video.

Yana , great effort. A few more additions. Sharda Peeth was a seat and source of knowledge that represents the soul of Kashmir and Bharat. It is a matter of pride for all Kashmiris. It was an university. Panini gave possibly the first concept of grammar in the world as Sanskrit Grammar from Sharada Peeth. Sharda script used for writing Sanskrit and Kashmiri originated here. Adi Shankaracharya who united all Hindus had visited Sharda Peeth and had opened its south gate. In the 11th century, the Vaishnava saint Swami Ramanuja traveled from Srirangam to Sharada Peeth to refer to the Brahma Sutras, before commencing work on writing his commentary on the Brahma sutras. If Kashmir has to be revived, the soul of Kashmir has to be recognized. Knowledge needs to be revered in the society. That is what Sharda Peeth represents. The seat of knowledge, available to all. Everyone having a stake in it. Something that can make Bharat Viswaguru.

This is the new location for Sharada Peeth temple. The original location is still in POK and in ruins. It was a place of education too and there was Sharada Viswavidyalaya (University) also which is now completely destroyed by foreign invaders.

That was a wonderful gesture Yana to take us thru the eyes of a Kashmiri youth to a divine mystical place namely the Sharda Preety - would further appreciate if you could go deeper into the mystery of this place ...a) What was taught in this place. B) who were the teachers and from where were they coming? C) Since it has feminine name which is synonymous with the creative energy - what was the creative element linked to this place. D) Is their any place to stay back over there ? E) How far is it in travel hours from the nearest big town.....and which is that town ? Nevertheless the maturity shown by you to look at the universal message of spirituality despite being from a different faith shows that the youth in Kashmir have moved away from the earlier dark image followed. Sharda Peeth for me is more beautiful since it blossomed such a lovely atmosphere of two faiths with different ideology to celebrate together the brotherhood of humanity. It requires a divine energy to create such a surrounding and manifestation.

Fun fact: Semar or semari in old pahari language means marshy land or land filled with water. It like word dar & Dhar, these words are common from Afghanistan to western Nepal, around himalayan belt states.
