That's it, very true. I would caution you to stick with the original 1611 King James version of the Bible. NKJV like most 20th century translations are done by Calvinists who subtly introduce false interpretations into the text.

Nonsense! The soul or spirit is the same thing. IT IS selfconcious. I know this. I left my body as a child and I could see the scene of the accident from above. My soul rose to heaven and I met people there. So HOW can I know this if I was not aware? When I returned I found that the world was dark, and I remember I said to myself as I was looking at the sun, " how can we even live like this in this pich dark place?" This is now more than 65 years ago, and I remeber it vividly. Don't tell people nonsense you don't understand!
I would like to add that the spirit contains all our information, personality, and it may contain what we have learned in life. It also in a born again christian, unites with the Holy Spirit and becomes a new creation, probably this is the most importan aspect of our spirit, it can join to God’s Spirit which makes us unique in our inward nature.
I would suggest. Our bodies are a Temple. In this Temple more than one spirit can reside. I.e. my spirit and a demon or a legion OR else my spirit and the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit guides us and helps us, but does not become us. Like in OT, the Holy Spirit came and went. When the Holy Spirit speaks to us, how and where does that happen, in our thoughts, since our thoughts are spiritual concepts, as we are spirit. The realisation of our thoughts then becomes our reality in the physical world if we choose to act on them.

When the soul dies(whole person) the conection between the spirit the body which makes the soul die thus thus the spirit which carries also life lives and goes either paradise or hell waiting for the judgement according to the bible so our consciousness and our body dies but not the living spirit which gives life

Yes, very concise biblical teaching! The spirit is the life in us that animates the soul/body. The bible knows no separation of soul and body. It is one.. All one must do is a good word study to get understanding. God breathed into Adam the breath of life and he BECAME a living "Nephesh". The bible also speaks nothing of the immortality of the soul. Rather the opposite. The soul dies. Man goes back to dust, the spirit (life) back to God who gave it. Immortality of the soul is a pagan idea that goes back to ancient Egypt and greece. Immortality/eternal life is a gift exclusive to those in Christ Jesus. No one who has not been resurrected here (born again) is going to live on after the death of the physical body. What is refer to as soul, is not a separate part of us. According to the Bible we have a spirit and a body and the union of these two create a living person. The book of Ecclesiastes mentions that at death the body returns to the ground and the spirit returns to God who gave it, there is no soul component mentioned at all, The old testament call the union of the spirit with the body a soul. In the New testament the soul is refer to as the mind, the emotions, and the will, those are emergent characteristics resulting of the union of the spirit with the body.

Are you aware of the verses in the NT where our Spirits and not just the Holy Spirit or evil spirits, also shows emotions, excrcise will ect.?

I realize there are many manuscripts in Greek and they all do not agree, but I use an interlinear English/Greek resource that helps. Generally, spirit is used concerning the core or the heart of who we are, and the soul refers to our personality along with mind and emotions.

Luk 1:47, 2Cor2:13, 1Cor6:20(read the greek and all older english versions kjv and prior), 1Cor2:11,Rom8:16, Luk24:37-39. Then not talking about our spirits, but might as well include other spiritual beings: Heb12:9, 1Pet3:9, Act23:9, 2Cor12:3, Joh4:24, Heb1:13-14. There is a lot more of spirits also opperating in human bodies, being demons, same as how the Holy Spirit functions. So my point is, just as other spirits can dwell in our bodies with a will, intellect and show of emotions, i believe our spirits to be the same. I believe soul is used as the same fashion per the old testament, except, it is used inter changably with our spirit in the NT, when referred to a person. So essentially i believe we are only body and spirit. And soul is the combination of the two as per the old testament :)
Nah bro...the Spirit and the Soul coexist as one entity however hey do have two diffrent functions. Your soul is you ....your likes your mind your will your emotions ect....while your spirit is synonymous with your moral conscience. This is why a dead conscience is a dead spirit and a born again spirt is a conscience that's come alive to God. The soul is meant to be led by this kind of Spirit. Think of the soul like a fingerprint and the spirit as the hand.

@@fcastellanos57 I can only speak for myself. Personally speaking, I do not exist under the Old Covenant but am now written in the NEW Last Will and Testament of the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ died, rose again and ascended so I could be part of the inheritance of the saints. I will be alive at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb spoken of in the Book of Revelation and I will be seated at the Table and I will not be sleeping. I am part of the living Body of Christ on earth and will be part of the Living Body of Christ after I step over and I will not be sleeping. When I step over I will be part of the great cloud of witnesses and I will not be sleeping. My Name is written in the Lamb's Book of LIFE. There are many martyrs in the Throne Room of God under the Glass speaking out to the Lord which is written in the Book of Revelation, they are not sleeping. There are many just men made perfect in heaven written of in the Book of Revelation and they are not sleeping. The Body of Christ is not sleeping after death. I could go on and on with the logic but won't. Have you ever been filled with the Holy Spirit and received the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation? To be filled with Holy Spirit is mandatory to understand these truths. May you do well in your search for the truth.
Diane Tayman I cannot convince you even if I go to the scriptures and show you if you are not willing to change your understanding. Some of the passages you mentioned are metaphorical in nature and cannot be taken literally. I don’t have a problem accepting the fact that no dead people are conscious right now, that does not contradict scripture or how I understand it, so if that’s your understanding and you don’t have a problem with it, that’s ok with me, I can’t persuade you otherwise.
