Soulcalibur VI (PC, PS4, Xbox One) marks the return of the fabled weapon-focused fighting game. Does it live up to the name? Let's talk. Subscribe for more: / gameranxtv
Suck at fighting games but I can tell this is a good one. Long live Voldo, that creepy bastard. Hopefully those netcode issues that have been reported by some get fixed soon.
I will get it once I got my money workout. I'm now having hard time to settle bills. So pray for me to settle the bills and get soul calibur 6 deluxe edition
yes... This game is fun.... UNTILL you fight against lv50-70 AI in story mode the AI at that level is like fighting a high ranked player that plays like he is in a evo compitition!
Shit dude was that the tower defense type mode where you could take over and war over territories? dude that shit was the best! SC3 is still my favorite because of that mode
Shorty OMG guys we have the almighty Virgin Sage Lord before us. Everybody quickly kneel so that he may bless us with the “you’re too young to understand”.
Whoop!? And because of that I have 6 mains lamo. Half the moves are still the same...and now I'm crying a little inside because I remebered all that shit T.T
The reason I favor Soul Calibre more than my other two favorites, Street Fighter, and Tekken, is because of the side-stepping feature. It makes the match very three-dimensional, and most opponents aren't thinking in those terms, so you can literally side-step after an exchange of blows and if your opponent doesn't catch it, you can finish him/her in short order. :-)
I’ve been playing Soul Caliber since I first saw it in an arcade I believe I was around 10 years old I’m 31 now. This one is my favorite one due to the campaigns and the character creation. The character I miss the most though is Darth Vader from the PS3.
Do you know if it works the same way? You know with attacking the towers and controlling every character and having different objectives? Because if so im ready the blow my money, chronicles of the sword is probably my favorite thing to play ever.
I love watching your before you buy videos before i decide to pick up a copy of a title. But recently I’ve been transferred at work to electronics and your channel is very helpful to me it gives me a better source of knowledge (well as far as our game selections XD) but ty for the information.
the 8-way run feature is what gives SC the edge over all the other 3d fighters, including Tekken (the best one). It's such a free-flowing game, and having character customization (even if it's minor) is a huge huge huge huge huge deal. It has infinite replayability for me and I will *always* buy a new SC game.
I played this game so much with my older brother growing up, I'll have to buy this one at some point! Our favorite weapons were the wave swords and grieve edge which I don't remember being in the game past SC3 (I played 4 for a little while but that was it) but there's too much nostalgia to pass this up!
I am so excited for this game. Cant wait until my copy comes in the mail. Kilik is by far my favorite character along with Xinghua and Seung Mena. I hope Xbox One X doesn't have the input lag problem. The last Soul Calibur game I played was part 2. I heard this is a return to form, so pumped for tomorrow.
This game is an absolute gem! Bandai Namco brought out the in-development version once a week at a venue in Tokyo and I've had a chance to play for the last couple of months with a slimmer roster. It's really easy to just pick up a new character and feel somewhat competent if you're familiar with fighting games in general. I used to be a "stick to one character" kind of guy, but everyone here has so much to offer that you really should try out all characters :)
So true. I suck at fighting games so bad and most of them are pretty much worthless as solo games but I had to have poured well over 200 hours into SC2, most being single player. Definitely unique in the genre.
I have never been a fighting game fan. I didn’t like them all, except the soul calibur series. It is the only fighting game series I actually enjoyed since soul calibur 2. The unique battle system that uses weapons instead of fists makes the whole fighting so much more fun to play and watch.
Over all I like the game, I learn new ways too beat my opponent and deal with any issues. Character Customization is good, the additive of races is nice, I know seer has been begging for a Lizardman race option, but the actual clothing options are less then in previous games and it's kinda noticeable. If the community sticks around is something we will have to wait and see but, as a youtuber who will be making exclusively SC6 content, I hope that we can help keep it relevant for a while.
Actually played SC4 as my first fighting and SC game... Fell in love with all of it, actually ended up hugely disappointed by SC5 though. I actually like the look of this one, Hope it'll bring back the fun i had on SC4! P.s good video Gameranx!
Right now, I'm mostly just waiting for either a sale, for Christmas, or for my friend that used to be really into this game to buy it. My only real time spent playing this game significantly was when my friend got me into Soul Calibur V. My main character was Zelos Wilder from Tales of Symphonia made using Patroklos' moveset. Not totally sure which character is going to be the base for Zelos in this game, since there's Sophitia and also Cassandra. Either way, I was also pretty fond of Cervantes' and Raphael's playstyles. (Devil Jin was also one I wished I could get better with but I never really could.)
I used to play Soulcalibur V...ALOT I mean there was a point where I was either playing with a friend or just alone and it was still Amazing. SCV has remained as one of my favorite games till this day. and now I'm just exited to get the VI
I have mixed feelings about Soul Calibur 6. I still enjoy the game, but not as much as Soul Calibur 4. For anyone who takes the time to read this please understand this is "my" opinion of SC6. Let me start with the bad stuff so we can get it out of the way. 1st "Cutscenes": If you're gonna have cutscenes atleast be consistant I love the portrait look they went with in this game. But during the main story they will sometimes have actual in game cutscenes and they don't appear anywhere else. This was a very small and petty point so it didn't ruin the fun I was having. 2nd "Libra's Tutorial": I hate boring tutorials with a passion especially if I can't skip it, it isn't at all interesting and goes on forever. In the Libra mode the tutorial fits those 3 descriptions, I have played Soul Calibur 4 and 5 and believe me not much has changed since. I think they could've offered us a choice between a full tutorial for those who don't know the controls and the other tutorial that shows the new combat features for the experienced players so they can be informed. If there was a way to skip the tutorial please let me know. 3rd "Tira as paid DLC" Why is it that a character from the franchise can only be aquired as DLC!? That is just...... wrong I could forgive it if it was for a lesser known character or a featured character..... maybe. Please tell me I'm not the only one. 4th "So Little to Unlock": Beating the main story you unlock a character and one of the characters unlocks a new weapon. Okay, but what about the other characters stories? I have beaten 3 stories so far (Mitsurugi, Ivy, and Cervantes) and got nothing, but added artwork at best. Unlocking a Soul Edge/Calibur version of the characters weapon added even more reasons go and play the story of each character. Even in SC4 you could unlock an extra character if you beat them (Shura). I know it sounds like I don't care for the story or the gameplay, but trust me I do enjoy them both. Adding unlockable made trying other parts of the game fun as well. Is SC4 beating Arcade on hard with Darth Vader meant you'd unlock his apprentice (Starkiller). If I don't unlock something from a character's story then the fun is deminished, but not entirely. So far it seems that upcoming DLC will "fix" this problem, but to some gamers it just makes some of the other modes less replayable. Dispite all of the bad there is plenty good in the game most specifically in the Creation mode. I love creating some characters and having them battle, the arcade is still a fun challenge, and the Libra mission is a pretty interesting addition and I'm still playing it. I do hope the best for SC6 and those who have bought the game and are playing it. Thank you if have read through this whole thing.
i pre-ordred this and my friend and i were trash talking each other the whole time we were waiting for it to release. we managed to play about an hour of it ( i unfortunately have an early morning shift at work boo ) and we had a blast. Geralt is definitely my fave, i like his style.
Worst parts: -Can't get a ranked game, 15 minute wait times. Casual is easy to get, but no xp, no detailed stats. Wins mean nothing. -No omnibus for online play with XP, etc. -Not enough costume stuff and customization. Other than that it's 10/10/. Love Libra of Souls and the campaign. Aracde sucks because NO CHARACTER ENDINGS. But thats the worst of it. Buy it anyway.
Another thing to know This game works FLAWLESSLY on PS4 Share Play. Little to no input lag! I was able to play a few matches with my friend who owns the game and I ran into 0 problems. Even on my crappy connection!
I started with the very first game before the name changed to Soulcaliber......and that game is the all time classic Soulblade lol! When Siegfried became Nightmare!
It's still a fighting game, and it is cursed by the same thing ALL fighting games suffer from: Lack of replay-ability. Seriously, I can play a fighting game maybe twice all the way through, then never feel like playing it ever again. Maybe if there was more to it than waiting for the next match. Incorporate the fighting into an interactive story like Beyond Two Souls and add some badass fighting mechanics and multiple story paths and maybe it would have the longevity of other genres, but as they stand, once you beat the game, there isn't really any reason to play it again.
Cool. I'm glad there is more for single players in this one. I've always liked the character creator in Soul Calibur. I usually end up making close to 15 to 20 characters.
My favorite character is Setsuna from Soul Cali 4, who sadly is not in this game. Second is Mitsurugi. I've been a Mitsurugi main since the original Soul Cali.
A few more items to choose from in the creation suite would go some way to make this the go-to Soul Caliber. Everything the game offers is great and I love how much content is here but I have to admit, I was a little disappointed with the clothing options in the creator. My only gripe.
Soul Calibur is my favorite fighting game. I knew about it when I was in the hospital because of an accident. I played it everyday on my PSP. I'm glad they gave us the 6th.
The main reason I liked Soul Calibur V was just the customization. Spending hours refining a character concept is pretty fun to share with friends, which is something you might not be able to fully communicate with just writing a story or doing a drawing. Started doing that in 2012, and I still haven't used up all 50 slots or deleted a character.
That's my favorite part too. I had all 50 slots full of some great ass characters like Kurt Cobain and Woody and the Hash Slinging Slasher, I just liked playing online to show off my creations. Can't wait to see what the create-a-character is like in SC6
I tried getting into Mortal Kombat but jesus christ it's too technical. 3 fucking stances for each character with different move sets for each. I'm not committing days of my life to a character to "find out if I like him" lol Soul Calibur is fun for everyone and easy to determine which characters are suited to your play style.
@@RJ-rp8yd Games like MK are just not fun for me. It has me studying a move set like it's for a final exam lol It's just a little overwhelming to remember so much shit although I'll admit I have done lots of drugs in the past. I'm certain that isn't helping either 😏
I’m playing this game at the moment. Can’t say how fun it is without totally geeking out. It’s a back to the past kick ass fighting game. Amazing in its art style freedom while creating characters, that do immerse themselves in story mode
It's a definite buy for me. I love these games and been playing them since the early ones on PS1. The most fun you can get out of that game is creating crazy looking characters with friends and fighting each other.
I don't know about the rest of you, but the Chronicles of the Sword campaign from SC3 was my all time fondest memory of any fighting game as a kid. I absolutely loved the RTS+RPG elements along with being able to create multiple characters. I absolutely loved it and I wish they would bring it back!
For me I like SCVI and i love the graphics and fighting skills but i'm disappointment with voice changes of some of my fauvorite characters and don't have tales of souls by showing the storyline like SCIII & SCIV..And also,i'm don't like when Tira,Setsuka & Hwang become DLC characters..Somemore SCVI don't have lot of characters like SCIV
Loved soul caliber 2 on the game cube and 3 on the PlayStation 4 was ok but 5 was hot garbage. 6 has me excited again and I got the collectors edition as well cause I can never find soul caliber stuff
I grow up with soul blade on the ps1 and I still love it to this day but honesty it really makes me sad that no one really ever talks about it I mean come on it’s the game that really started this franchise and yet no one ever acknowledges it.
Soulblade on playstation was the first game i ever got as a kid. My dad and I would stay up all night playing it. I really wish they would have keep that mechanic in soul blade were you can lose your weapon and have to fight with your fist.
Looking back on this, SC series remains my favorite fighting game series. I've played MC, Tekken, SF yada yada. But they just didn't stick like SC does.
I'm torn. Soulcalibur is on sale on Steam (-66%!!!) right now. I've always enjoyed this game's Character Creation; even though I'm no-good at playing fighting games at all. Anyway, Soulcalibur has always been kind enough to let someone like me have fun with something I don't really excell at. So, I thought about buying it. But then I took a look and made the comparison with the latest Mortal Kombat and... boy... Soulcalibur stands flat! I mean, I think MK wouldn't beat Soulcalibur's character personalization system but... have you seen those backgrounds? My character might aswell be thrown in a cardboard box to fight. So, what should I do? I have one-too-many games to finish. Should I wait for MK to go on sale, or should I grab this opportunity and purchase Soulcalibur? I kneel before you, Hivemind. Help!
Man, this is one of those games where you buy it only to pvp online local or against AI (arcade). I just beat Azwell whatever his name is pulled the soul calibur out my body to use it.. And after all the cheese and bullshit i had to put with to get there. You don't even keep the damned thing and then you go to chapter 5 and the ai cheese and bullshit is 50x worse than everything I had to endure.. I don't even think i want to bother with it anymore. Because it doesn't even feel rewarding. Don't buy this for the story buy it for the fighting.
