I play rhythm guitar so i barely do solos and this was so easy for me to find a melodic groove with to actually feel some melodies. I wish this video was 10 hours long.
This backing track allowed me to improvise in a way I didn't even know I could, and it really kickstarted my jazz piano phase and brought me out of the rigid classical style. Thank you so much for the inspiration, I will forever remember this as the video that began my jazz piano journey!
It's really interesting how different tracks bring out creativity. The last one I jammed with was a track in E which was literally the best yet. Go at it in Em. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZlI5hRsx4Tg.html
it's sunday morning and it's a gorgeous sunny day, i wake up, drink my coffe, i take a shower and i go to my drums jamming to this and the sun on my back. This maked my day bro, thank you.
I've been at a plateau with my guitar playing for years...recently got interested in learning to improvise playing lead (not much prior knowledge of scales) and omg I've learned so much from these tracks and scales. I haven't had much fun playing guitar in the past 2 or 3 years, and now I can't put it down and practice to these videos daily. Thank you!
Is it somehow possible to see what the chord voicings are? I very much like your tracks. But i also would like to learn to play and even more important, to understand what you have played here. That would really help to learn to create meaningfull solo lines. (hope my englisch is not to bad) Thank you very much for your effort.
Beautifull song, I really like it... Hey man please let me to do a JAM with my friends using this song?? Could you allow this? I mention your name or can post your video's part playing too. I appreciate this.
💛 love this comment, definitely felt that way before - for stuff like this you'd probably get the best results setting it up like an 80s/90s RnB band and taking that jazz mentality into it, not unlike some Erykah Badu lineups or something - that way you won't have as many annoying elitists coming to gigs and going "this isn't jazz!", you'll instead get more music fans going "oh daaaang" when you play Of course I'm just a randomer sharing an opinion, but I think the thing you're talking about is super doable and not an unpopular type of band - if you dig this stuff, try it out!
Solo @ 10:28 (Not 9:57 shown on screen - whoops!) Check out the EJT collections on Bandcamp | elevatedjamtracks.bandcamp.com/ Consider supporting on Patreon | www.patreon.com/elevatedjamtracks Happy jamming! 🤘
Please, I'm so frustrated, can anyone explain me what are those numbers and letters on screen? I'm a self-taught player, and I love to improvise, but in every backing track video, there are those things, and i can't get the right notes. Please, help ;( thx
I love your tracks! definitely helping me with my improv. Your solos are also very inspirational, and the quality of your tracks are amazing! Thank you!
I've been using this backing track so much I just went ahead and finally bought the album. Your tracks are absolutely fantastic to jam with my friend. Thanks for putting this out there into the world
Great Job on this track Tom!!!! I so really dig the arrangement. Everything about it just seems to all into place for me. I just lost me youngest Son 21/2 weeks ago. His name was Andrew, we would set and switch back and forth between us and improv over your tracks like this one. I was teaching him improvisation, and now he's gone!!! It's the worst thing ever in my life. Your music helps make it bearable! Thanks 🙏🏻your friend and brother, Dana E💫
My heart breaks to hear about your son Adnrews passing.. Wish you all the streght through these hard times. I will remeber you/ him when I jam to this track
I really love this backing because you've spiced upp the chord progression so any tone i take outside of the scales still fits in perfectly.. and that's when I can feel truly creative, when i have this much freedom. Thank you and keep up the good work!
Why do I love this chord progression so much? Uhhhh ... because it's awesome!!! I find myself phrasing more so in F Ionian and A Phrygian on this particular track more so than D natural minor.
Bruh, I just Vai’ed the shit out of this track. Something in your phrasing is just so very highly shreddable. I’m about to POUR through your vids. I think I may just have to lay this one down and share it back. Fan-fucking-tastic track, my guy🎼👍❤️
I feel crap asking this, but does anyone have a recommended chord chart for this? Yes, I know the chords involved but the suggested positions and fingerings would be great.
Aye a little tip if you wanna add a lil something, play D#, (half step above the root for those who may not know) then slide back down to D, just a cool sound, it really sounds good over the D7sus and Gm7
Just wanted to say thank you brother for all you do. I've learned more about understanding scales and modes from jamming to your fine tracks and studying the diagrams than anything else I've tried.
@elevated Great backing track and also absolutely beautiful solo. Would love to chat with you about your influences and hear if you had any reflections about what things that got you here. Thanks a ton for providing this stuff. Playing music is great for me and I appreciate it. Good vibes. Can't get over the solo mate. Thanks.
Is this solo on your Patreon? I honestly need it to see if I can understand what notes you picked for the changing chords. Your solo is so sweet and perfect that I think it would teach me wanders if I could break it down.
Most great blues players tend to target the 3rd of chords on changes, also, what ever important notes in a chord that could be targeted (try to stay away from the 1 and the 5, but things like the 7, 9, #9 ect. are good). Hopefully this helps *smiley emoji*.
@@rmnnoodles4life5 it does help! I'll keep that in mind while I'm practicing. I ended up learning tgis solo from watching the video, I think that forced me to understand it better than I would've by just reading from the tab I asked for. Thanks for your comment!
Sweet progression . Can someone explain the music theory to me ? How does the aug 7 work in the key of d minor? All the other chords are in that key but that one isn’t. It sounds awesome though and definitely makes the song the way it is
It does sound great. It's a borrowed chord. It could be from D major and he augmented the 5th chord (A). Only he will know where he took it from, maybe just by ear.
The three chord of a key (is if we say we’re in f major) often sounds great major because you’re using a note from the harmonic minor scale of the relative minor. So we’re in f major/d minor so the three chord is A minor. We can make this major because the major third of A is in the harmonic minor scale of d minor and then the augmented note, the raised fifth, is in the basic scale for this key anyway.
