The sounds of the Sitar have long come to represent Indian classical music in the world at large. They have a calming effect on the mind that is unmissable. It instantly helps tune to higher thoughts and nobler aspirations.
As we observe the most auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami, we are glad to offer at Bhagawan's lotus feet a beautiful rendition of Rag Charukesi on the Sitar by Sri Chirag Katti. Sri Chirag is one of the most promising and young Sitarists in the field of Indian classical music. He is accompanied by Sri Nishikant Barodekar on Tabla.
This was recorded at the Sri Sathya Sai Media Centre, Prasanthi Nilayam. To blend with the blissful melody, we have some glimpses from past Dasara celebrations too.
