The intro's alright. But I still really LOVE this song! I don't think I've heard a chill ASF remix wit dis song before. Minty fresh stuff lol! 💯💨💕 It's amazing what people can do with technology now! Everyone can be an artist if they really wanted too & so it's dope to see indie artists rise! Keep it up! Gr8 stuff 🎶👀👏👏💕
Beginning with my defense of James Blake, I'd like to say that he is one of the most original electronic artists out there. He, along with Mount Kimbie, SBTRKT and Shlohmo, are pioneers in the oft-debated genre of "post-dubstep." The very fact you can bash James Blake and he is quite similar to this music you're currently (or were) listening to is unapologetically hypocritical. To counter your other point, R&B is one of my all-time FAVORITE genres.
@ramafia09 i think that was beside their point. souljaboy is about making music thats just straight fun to listen to, not being "the hardest lyrical assassin to bless the mic"
@1Anonymouse if you mean the choir singing...it's "Les mysteres de voix Bulgares" , a bulgarian traditional choir. Don't know the exact song. Hope it was of some help ;-). Greets
if you can take something such as soulja boys music and turn into something worthy of listening too, then you deserve a special place in the human race nj
To demonstrate to you my love of R&B I'll list some of my favorite artists: D'Angelo, Chaka Khan, Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Aaliyah, Jill Scott, Maxwell, John Legend, R. Kelly, Ne-Yo and occasionally Chris Brown, but now he's become really abusive to my eardrums, among other things. I hate to break it to you, but RU-vid likes are not always indicative of one's actual music preferences. Assumptions aren't good for you, especially when wrong.
It's really sad because I see so much potential in the people that Lil Wayne produces: Drake, Tyga and others have the potential to be some of the greatest, most genre-defining rappers of our time but they're stuck underneath Lil Wayne and his "Young Money" BS.
people calling Souja boy wack have it all wrong..... he makes fun swag music, that everyone loves, and remixes, this is club music, undue your panties and go listen to some backpack rap
Oh my, look's like you've had a lot of time for research. Well two can play at that game. I'd like to begin with the fact that someone who names himself after the only three things he's good at should not be taken seriously in ANY kind of debate, especially on something as rich and diverse as music. Additionally, that Zelda Dubstep remix was pretty good for an amateur and the Benny Bennasi was a Florence + the Machine remix. Don't mischaracterize my likes to bolster your point, I won't help.
Only shlohmo could fathom just how much of a banger pretty boy swag could be with the addition of some obscure Hungarian folk music. I'm pretty sure the intro sample is from this track (and the loop definitely from the album) if anyone comes here looking ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Lak6nZekv5M.html
Indeed I am frustrated as this conversation began as a discussion about the merits of Soulja Boy and progressively devolved into an ad hominem debate. But I assume you're agreeing with me considering the only thing you could say is "u madddd" which only supports the aforementioned points about you and grammar and porn and Madagascar.
@KushPizzaSleep making fun of the music is still contributing to the overall crap that is "modern rap" today. I honestly think that 'making fun of' is the same as 'contributing'. And "This" is Shlohmo, not Souja boy. I understand where you're coming from though. I'm not hatin or anything, but he's just another product of the throwaway culture. Do you seriously think that people will listen to Souja Boy in rather than Big L in 50 years? Thats the difference man. But fuck it right, lets enjoy.
So basically Soulja Boy's only purpose is to be made better by people like Shlohmo and such? Because if that's his only purpose he should win a Grammy. If he actually takes his original products seriously I have to worry about him and some potential alcohol or needle poisoning.
Wow, where to begin? Well, for the majority of people, myself included, getting wasted in a club and waking up with a venereal disease isn't something I do very often and based upon the fact that you're picking a fight with me and not laying with some girl (or boy, I don't judge) you met in the club is shows me you don't frequent the club either. Also, Soulja Boy is ALWAYS trying to be something he's not whether it's attractive, funny or good at rapping he's a miserable failure at all he does...
maybe talented peeps like hudmo and shlohmo remix artist like soulja boy because they are popular and its a good way to get their name out, not necessarily because soulja boy makes "good" music...
and judging from your grammar, you may be as well. Soulja Boy is NOT the best rapper in the world; in fact he may be one of the worst. I may not have the best music taste in the world, but it sure beats sitting in some hole in the wall for hours listening to Soulja Boy's alcohol-induced crap-on-a-mic. Plus can the cliches get any more annoying: "hop up outta bed/turn my swag on..." he practically invented that god-awful "swag" movement and he outta be burned at the stake for it. He's god-awful.
