Beginning of the vid, he states he's had Alex and OJ playing and exploring the world and building up the stuff to give AJ a tour. Alex is saying they've been playing for longer than expected as in himself and OJ. AJ is acknowledging the amount they've played.
You make sponsor specific shoutouts for VPNs and wallets, why is it so difficult to just say "hey we were sponsored to play this game, thanks for checking out the video" instead of just dancing around it with "we have access"
And it's not even a good let's play. They just fooling around for a few minutes and constantly saying "Isnt it the best survival game we play for a while?"

Wow its so different and unique and innovative from all the other survival games. Definitely doesnt look like a copy paste job of repeated elements like you always hate on.
They got payd for this video and got the game for free, so they allready rating it a bit higher. Played it back in the last steam festival(?) and it is looking alot, like most survival games. Gameplay and graphics alike. It was not very fun to play or "to survive". The Mask mechanic is... very lacking in the interesting department. Not a good game, but at least the devs did get us a chance to play it for a few hours before deciding.
damn i miss the angry reviews. I would prefer those any day over extended movie/serie reviews or paid advertisements like these for a game with terrible enemies and super wonky ai.
Me too. On top of everything you said, I’ve also noticed Alex has been doing a lot more rapid fire reviews which honestly takes away from the traditional “Angry Review.” Now I don’t mind a break in between reviews every once in a while but it’s been nearly 3 months and the last game Joe reviewed was Skull and Bones. (Good review too) I guess the only games that were worth reviewing was Hades 2 and Stellar Blade. (Could be wrong tho) However Joe didn’t play the first or second Hades (they were passed to RF review) and Stellar Blade is a South Korean IP, not something that originated from the West and Joe barely reviews games that were later localized in the US.
These half assed survival games (especially early access) needs to f*** off.. Sick of these copy-paste boring games, the market is so saturated with them.
talk about a saturation of the genre, and theyre flooding the early access market. it didnt even help how they use the same game engine and didnt mind changing the visual style or graphics

Copy paste .. You can tell if its genuine game from the details. If there are no details, its just rushed from the menu options, no real depth there. Details are kinda like developers signature.
Not really...they are almost all using unreal engine. If you want variety you need games built from the ground up or with various engines. To date 98% of survival games are either on Unreal Engine or Unity and nearly all of these folks reuse stock content, so yeah they ARE all going to be eerily similar.

It's more of an Angry Joe opinion - hi is not a big on survival games and this one is very completed / polished - for Early Access title from what I'm experienced during open Beta (+150h). The game is far more completed and relatively bug free + has lots of quality of life features when coming to Early Access that other Survival games I played when they launched to EA ( Conan Exile , ARK , Atlas ... )
joe cries about madden reskin and fifa reskin every year... but seems to have no problem with bland reskin survival crap... this is literally the same what EA has done with Madden and FIFA... just in survival genre, every company just screws you over... in the beginning it was nice... a minecraft here , a terraria there .... but who the hell needs all those "assets reskin" flips or unimaginative respins like they did with dr. who ... the forest , sons of forest , ARK , rust , green hell , scum , raft , grounded , smalland , stranded deep , ... the list goes on and on... how often and how many similar games can you buy and play before it gets ridicolous ? i guess the point hasn't been reached for most...
That is franchise with so much history of doing great Madden games that reduce to poor and lazy state from big company. This is not the same thing. It is indie studio. You can like it or dislike it. Small indie studios reuse assets that are not copyright because it is very time-consuming to make it due to lack of manpower.

@tearsOfdisgust I can't criticize a big company with the amount of money that has to indie company don't really have the resources equally. One charge is $60 and over for the same thing, while the other one is way less. Big companies have the opportunity to create innovative things.
So the devs gave you 6 days of early access with juiced up characters and Legendary Gear. (Their gear is red and when Joe hovered over red items they are listed as LEGENDARY) How can we trust your opinion if you arent getting the same experience as others? Your time with the game was influenced with better starting gear to look more fun and to avoid the boring grind and gathering that is always part of these games. Oh and it took you 6 days to cut down a best of stream compilation, even though you said you were working on XDEFIANT and Multiversus Angry Reviews (2 games that are free to play and have ZERO story mode content, so there's not much to actually review outside mechanics and monetization) Dishonest Joe.

You can essentially obtain a template for these games, and then tweak some assets to make it look different. But essentially they're all the same game.
If this is how promoted material looks, there is no chance they will fix the "yank". Its a finished product , some QoL animation tweaks , more content to add and voila. Building system especially looks very dated and clunky.
@@Kazaanh Reminds me a lot of Conan Exiles which is *not* a good thing. You can make some good stuff in there, but it mostly requires tricks or mods to get anything that isn't ginormous to look good.
Yes exactly. I played the free Steam demo for ~15min a couple weeks back, and the attack or gathering animation is very rigid with an aweful hitbox range. Feels like a generic clunky survival crafting game, the kind you better wait 6-12 month to check if it's still being developped before buying in.
Sponsored gameplay BTW... Having looked at the Steam page and the gameplay I am not convinced this is any better than the standard survival game. In fact, I would say the graphics are lacking and the gameplay looks clunky. The survival games market is oversaturated and I am not entirely convinced this one does anything better or has anything unique to offer.
A breath of fresh air for me was Enshrouded. I have no idea why I was postponing it to hell, probably because I got fed up with the standrad survival games, since I probably played all of them, EA or not except Green Hell 😂 I gotta say Enshrouded leans more into RPG and exploration than survival, since you don’t really have any meters that you need to have filled up to go forward. Just my 2 cents and I agree the market is oversaturated since everybody seems to mish-mash a lot of assets and call it a day to grab money

This would be a great play when it comes out of early access in 5 years. It seems games are just made good enough just so they could get an early access badge. Example “Satisfactory” game. Etc.
@@confusciouspuff5701 Minecraft started this , but at least there was literally updates every single week brand new features, and it was very understandable since it was only one developer and he had no real income at the time and more of a passion project, and people got interested in, so notch figured you’d throw a few bucks and he’ll new features from time to time, people like the concept etc. developers now use the early access concept as a subscription service of some sort delay potential updates until they hit a quota on purchases. I think most already have the game built, but spread it across weeks and months and years. Like the satisfactory game is eight tiers already I think that’s what was the core concept done but now they saying there’s more tiers it should’ve been done at last 2 years ago. It happened with The forest also right when they were done with the game all of a sudden there’s a part two and nothing much has changed. It looks like it was an expansion pack, I like the franchise, so I gave it a pass. That’s why I wait until games come on console so they at least somewhat finished and there’s certain criteria you have to make your game on consuls you can’t just be putting out updates like crazy like unoptimized garbage.

Didn't you say you were working on Angry Reviews for XDefiant and Multiversus? Shouldn't those be your top priority? And if you want quick and easy cash, just do a movie review. In a Violent Nature just came out and is fairly mixed, you want to expose more and different movies to your audience right?
Survival games is my favorite genres of games, but this looks....meh. Here is a list of some really good survival games: - Both Subnautica games - Both The Forest and Sons of the Forest - Raft - Astroneer - Grounded - Terraria & Starbound - The Long Dark - Forager - Valheim - And of course Minecraft
