Talents are a big part of the quality assesment of NPCs in the game Soulmask. But NPCs can gain but also lose talents. But how does that work?
I explain the game mechanic behind it.

Lol im 50+ hours in game I didn't even notice that the one im always using as a companion has a trait "Skilled Farmer" and a 120 for farming, welp he's retired now tending my crops.

2:46 To add to this. When you capture a high level npc, let's say lvl 50 and you use the "Mysterious Bodyshaping Pill," it will reset all stats down to level 1 and return you 49 points. This won't mess with these extra points from capturing a higher level npc and you can now put those extra 49 points where you want them. There is no advantage to recruiting low level npc, it is a disadvantage. However, for as long as you have to, recruit the lower level ones until you are ready for a stronger barrack.

The body shaping pill only removed the levels for us that we additionally gave the NPC after recruiting not all the stats.

Thanks for the video, great work. I was wondering how you came to the finding at 2:40 -- I've found that all of my tribesman have the same total stat pool (128 at level 50) regardless of level when captured, quality, or class.

We did recruit a bunch of different NPCs in different levels on vanilla settings, calculated all of their stats together and divided by their body level. We had everything from 2.6 up to 4.

Great contribution, after 200 hours i had my suspicions on some stuff mentioned, but its good to have it confirmed. I'm on a search for a master crafter armor/weapon with the quality passive respectively for.the 17% increase quality, its been a long search infruitful so far, was only getting high level npcs but i might change my strategy to a mid level one and gamble on the leveling passives.

My armor smith is 102, I chosed the + quality on iron, and he almost never craft anything beyond legendary. The option to have full durability and high chance to craft legendary is for very endgame so don't burn out. And also it seems that endgame loot provides insane stuff much better than crafting. I think flint exclusive is quality for armor and claw exclusive is quality for weapons, happy hunting ;)

No reason to "gamble" if you have the option to tame max level tribesmen. A level 50 is always going to have exactly 5 positive Hex talents, and those talents are based on the seed the NPC spawned with so they'll be the same if they were already 50 or leveled to 50 by the player. So just go ahead and tame it at the highest possible level.

@@user-ui8be2hk6l Refined Armor and Weapon Enhancement are both Flint Tribe exclusive talents (+10% quality on crafts). Up to Iron at least, they will produce 100% legendary products once their proficiency matches the ore they're crafting with (60 for Bronze, 90 for iron, etc.) so you can fully invest them in to Durability. I haven't found a 120 Weapon/Armorsmith with the respective talent yet to test Steel, but it's likely they will also be 100% legendary at 120 proficiency.

@@SSJ21Talon been getting lvl 50 craftsman for more than 20 hours before master and non master with legendary status, and so far only a couple had 120 proficiency armor potential but none had the armor quality passive =[.

@@omarbl4698 I feel that pain. I've been searching over a week and haven't found either 120 with the talents for Weaponsmithing or armor. Just terrible luck :(

I loved the video and it helped me understand important points of the game. I just don't agree with calling tribals NPCs, because NPCs are non-playable characters, and, in the context of this game, we play with them. We need new names, such as iNPC (Initially, non-playable character). Nice video Tiia. Ty.

I guess keep calling them NPCs since most will never be used as player characters but are to automate your base.

I managed to get someone with 7 red traits. Do you know if there are exceptions to the 6 max? Or are the ones that are "dislikes" similar to the purple traits and don't count towards that max number?

Dislikes and negative origins don't count and can't be lost.

Can an NPC have 7 possative(or negative) traits when they have an extra trait gained by them having a specific title (eg. weapon master title)?

Just the traits at the end of the list count. Neither their origins nor their likes and dislikes. They are static and don't change.

do trbesmen even get new perks if i dont control them while getting lvl 20/30/40/50 ? Or do i have to control them to get those changes?

Just from my experience I've found the blue quality npcs have the 120+ skills more often than not versus the red and gold. And whether they be novice, skilled, master makes no difference in their changes of getting those max traits it seems.

You just had more luck, or your server settings are normal, wich means you come across more common variety. Novice skilled or master determines the base level of skills. For example, a novice will have 28 to dual blades and bow, a master will have around 60. 120+ skill limit is very rare and I don't think it's related to the quality of the npc. ANyway it' not always super good, like if you have a regular NPC with dual blades 122, and then a weapon master with +9% blade damage and only 110 dual blades. The weapon master with perk will be better. The sill level cap is less important than perks, some perks are insane good, like the claw exclusive that makes you gain crit chance crit damage when you hit. OR a flint warrior with +9% defense and a -9% damage reduction perk. So yeah, my advice, dont focus too much on skill cap and more on passive perks.

@@user-ui8be2hk6l 👍 did find a 6 pos trait with all lvl3 traits with 122 greatsword with the reposte heal skill and the standing heal trait that I got killed before getting the remodel coffin. Still pretty sad about it.

@@DtWolfwoodYou ll find an other one, it's kinda and endless farm. There maybe a bug with riposte heal, I don't really see it proc. On my first playthrough I really lost a god roll one for server dc reason. now I play on my own server :p
