As well if this will be you're first time going into the snow to find meteorite make sure you are prepared. This is by far the hardest zone to survive in not to mention unless you have a snow leopard and thats unlikely if this is your first time going here you cant bring mounts because they will be slowed and murdered by the wildlife. Make sure you have cold mods the best you can get on your gear along with food that will warm you up when the blizzards hit and night comes it gets very cold and kills you fast. Its a wise idea you build a little fob base near that mammoth with a portal so you can store some extra sets with cold mods on them because if you die to the mammoth it will be almost impossible to grab you're body if naked. Make sure you never walk under that things feet it will one shot you. In this video i was using the saber steel set with steel weapons so i make it look easy you can do this with iron but it will be a bit more dangerous. Anyway good luck i hated the snow area took a while to get a good flow going when it came to meteorite ore farming when we first started. The worst part was walking it back to main base because at the time we had no snow leopards..... Get one of them asap if you can.
