Enter in dramatic fashion behind the army that just got annihilated and stand around for a few seconds to give the enemy time to shoot you. Next, advance slowly towards the enemy and fire your guns with one hand. Make no attempt to evade enemy fire. Victory is assured.
@@leonidbaishev2221 He survived the IG's defeat on Kronus ,got redeployed with his surviving troops to Kaurava when that sector was going up in flames and got pounced by the Tau in the process (aka,what happens in the intro).
i love how all the other games have cool intros with awesome graphics and this one is kinda dumb. Dark Crusade also used in-game graphics, but was still awesome to watch.
I love how the Stealth suits are completely visible, and just run at the front lines. Cause thats really how they work. And then theirs the fusion shots pinging off the S.O.B. (hehe, they have such a terrible acronym) armor. No, they die. bad.
This intro is for me awesome for one simple reason. The way that Kasrkin looks up at the Sisters. It's just so... "Emperor be praised, we are saved..."
actually..that is General lukas alexander, the same alexander from dark crusade so canon wise he is dead either way, the thing is. did he die on kronus in dark crusade? or did he die here in this weak intro for soulstrom

@@BeyondDaX I think it's grimdark enough to be killed by space Marines AND having his possible friend anton gabbit the Commissar betrayed and killed by karskin squad as the Marines tore his canon and making the tech priest stand up and blow the titan up just to not give it to the blood angels That is grimdark in my opinion, having him survive only to die by Tau gun and getting stepped on by a sister celestial is bull.
Wait one second here... In the first Dawn of War intro, normal Ork bullets are ripping right through Space Marine armour, but in this Tau pulse rifle and Rail rifle and everything else is bouncing right off Sisters of Battle armour? Those Sisters are making some damn good armour saves. Rolling 6 every time.
Ahhh yes, the Bolter Bitches. Apparently they are immune to Tau's shooting. Try this in the table top game and the Sisters will be owned in about 2 turns.
lmao! what really caught my attention was when i look at the chaos lord's demonic acesion upgrade and it still says "eliphas the inheritor will be a demon prince" (the last chaos lord's name from dark crusade) so they clearly had a cut-and-paste attitude here
I especially love how Sisters of Battle advance slowly, while unleashing their entire ammo supply. If only there were different battle stances in DoW... For example - fast charging strike, or slow, shooting advance.
@thabiznes If you're curious about the Dark Eldar, they are eviler versions of the Eldar that raid planets, torture and murder the inhabitants and eat their souls to avoid their own souls being eaten by Slannesh. They are similar in gameplay to the Eldar, but have more of an emphasis on firepower. They're considered to underpowered in the tabletop game because they haven't received any updates in about 7 years, and don't appear especially popular either, so they're an odd choice to include.
I personally thought this intro was okay, somewhere inbetween the Dark Crusade intro and the superb original intro. However, I thought this was a pretty good intro for the Sisters of Battle since that's how the Imperium does business, when one of their armies falls they have one of the other two ready to pick up the pieces.
1- the sisters of battle have a lot stronger armor than the imperial guard do, its slightly weaker than the space marines but literally just. thats why the weapons seemed to do no damage to them. 2- the sisters of battle are fearless and wont stop till their mission is complete, thats why they just walked out there like nothing will hurt them. but i dont understand how the tau commander can just kill the governor in one shot like that
Table top wise sisters can fairly easy outgun Tau if they get into close range Tau may as well just keel over and die. Sisters also have a Faith power that basically makes them invulnerable for a while.
it is more or less believed that a soldier of the Imperial Guard regiment in Kaurava, the Conservators, is responsible for the warp rift and the coming of the Alpha Legion; i guess that the Blood Ravens Space Marines saw an opportunity to show their worth to the imperium post-DC. The Sisters of Battle probably felt that the lax control of the Kaurava system by the Imperial Guard was justification in itself to sieze and hold the system in the name of the God-Emperor.
well it is different types of space marines: -space marines -sisters of battle -deamon hunters -wich hunters and some dudes from a cold place who i dont remember i think it was frostwolf or something like that
sort of, but the Sisters of battle seek out possible heretics in their "allied" forces, and if they deem them heretics, they are enemies to the Imperium.
contrary to popular belief, imperial guard are a very finesse army. even though they are called the hammer of the emperor, in the mini's terms if you try a straight on fight you are going to get chewed up
I always liked the Chaos voiceovers. Not because the voice actors were good...but because they were so cheesily over the top and all the Chaos quotes are catchy.
don't worry..in this game the sisters of battle are too busy fighting off Imperial guard and space marines than tau...which makes about as much sense as eldar allying themselves with necrons..but yeah and i use tau too and if u know how to play with em they own pretty much everything ^^
It's more a case of Soulstorm not making much sense. An Imperial Guard regiment with over a hundred Baneblades at its disposal and a Chaos lord who has an obsession with boxes are some of the highlights of this game...I prefer to imagine that DoW just went straight from Dark Crusade to Dow II. Like Sgt. Cyrus said: "Kaurava was a huge mistake..." Only it wasn't Kaurava. SOULSTORM was a huge mistake!
Actually background wise Sisters are older than most of the other races including the elder, they where pictures of them hunting renegade Space marines in the frist edition rule book.
This intro suxs so much compared to the orginal intro... Orginal intro: CHAARRRGE! slash, burn, BANG! WAAAGH.. Rrbbb.. This: IG: "I beg your pardon but it seems like the hostiles are heading this way. maybe we ough to offer them some tea" Tau: pang pang Sisters of battle: walk walk.
look heres the thing people keep arguing that the SOB are dumbasses because they were enemies to the SM and the IG in the soulstorm. The SOB (A.K.A the sisters of battle) attacked and tried to kill everything to cleanse the universe of everything
Yeah, the Guard rules! Meatshields may be individually, but get plenty of them along their nifty armored support and you get yourself a victory! Remember: "They die standing" ;)
Dark Eldar and Sisters of Battle are the new armies in Soulstorm. If they release another, chances are it'll be Tyrannids and Daemonhunters, which are the only two left if memory serves.
No, they're sisters of battle, woman can't be space marines for reasons I don't feel like explaining. Sisters of battle are women in power armor, bolters, and are trained to a higher degree than guardsmen. Space Marines are a lot stronger anyways (though they are almost never shown how they should be)

well, the empire is so extense and burocratic that it makes impossible for a full control of everything. Since the sisters, imperial guard and space marines serve different organizations (under the same empire) with little-to-no communication between each other, conflicting orders are common. That's why they're against each other sometimes. In dark crusade campaign it was better explained than in soulstorm.
from what I've read, Imperator armor (the Mark VII plate) weighs about 250 kilos, so around a quarter-ton. If the Imperial Guard guy was wearing carapace armor it would have dented a bit, but not completely squished him. He deserved a good squishing, though. "We've got to win this!" ???? Sounds like he's coaching high school basketball not leading the warriors of the Imperium into battle against xenos. The Dark Crusade intro was way cooler.
@thabiznes Not quite. They have power armor like the Space Marines, but not the genetic enhancements and aren't as well trained. In terms of quality, they are above the Imperial Guard, but bellow the Space Marines, and are in between both of them in numbers. They have a very different style of fighting, one of the notable things being that they are very fond of flame weapons.
You're right. I saw this before looking at this from another source. His name is Or'es'Ka or something like that. I thought he was Kais from his helmet.
If this is Alexander, then that means that the IG Campaign in DC was the canonical one. Perhaps that's why we don't see Davian Thule leading the Blood Ravens here in SS.
@Xemptuous well, one is an in-game cutscene made with games own engine and models and the other is a professional CGI animation, which probably took 6-12 months and lot of money to make and possibly wasn't even made in the same studio than the game. it's like comparing Lord of the Rings movie to a high school play. okay, I'm exaggerating but you get the point :)
I don't care for which army they add Eversor, as long as they do it. Be Eversor a new SM, IG or SoB unit, as long as it is there. Eversor is an assassin of the Imperium, so it only makes sense that every force of Imperium can use their services. Besides, if Grey Knights are an SM unit (which shouldn't happen, GK's are supposed to be a secret), why can't Eversor be a part of SoB's?
@DaProOneTwoThrizzle Power armor is heat resistant. And plasma is essentially one big ball of heat. So yeah, they are pretty resistant to that. And P.S. Imperial plasma guns are more powerful then the Tau ones ( read Tau codex ).
I did like how they used some of their least exposed sides for the this new intro and also how presumably two Imperial allied armies fighting on the same side here it seems.

They are an Imperial force but they rarely interact with anyone outside there own order,they don't get on very well with space marines who the sisters see as nothing more than mutants and have been conflicts between the 2 sides a few times.
