Hey guys we just put some All New slip ons from Rinehart on this beautiful 2018 Harley Davidson FatBob and I wanted you guys to hear them. Of course they sound much better in person but this will give you a good idea what to expect if you plan on putting Rineharts on your 2018 softail. This is also the 114 cubic inch FatBob! I have the 2018 fat bob 114 with a stage 3 tune. I've got the rinehart slip on's. Not only do they look great they sound fantastic, listening to them on line does not do these mufflers any justice, they are loud but not obnoxiously in your face loud. These definitely turn heads, no matter where I ride over here in the UK people turn to see what is making the noise, don't be put off by the sound on the video, they sound great and are well worth the money.

When the new Fat Bob came out I went to take a look at it. Man that is a darn good looking bike. I have a 2014 Fat Bob and just fell in love with the 2018 but not enough to trade my bike and get into debt. My 2014 is my girl and she is a great bike that I plan on keeping the rest of my life. Even when it's time to get a new bike, I am going to keep her for a second bike. Great review bro!

Alex, I agree. I looked at the 2018's when they came out. I like it but also not enough to get in debt and trade my 2014 Fat Bob in. The longer I own my 2014 the more I like it. Take care.

Really good attention to detail. That’s a great looking slip-on. Sound really good out of the box. Nice deep tone without a drone. Definitely sound better than stock and after a few heat cycles they’ll be louder. Thanks for sharing!

I did a demo ride with this bike and slip ons, i couldn't help but rev it up and rev match when down shifting. They have a great tone, quite at idle tho.

Sounds like they have a good tone but do those have removable baffles? I still think they need to be louder.

Touring Midwest My SE StreetCannons were so quiet when I first got them I was upset at what I paid. They got louder with every ride. They’re just right now. I’m sure these will be the same.

The reindharts do def. Have removable d.b. killers in them. Got a set on my 09'. Their insane without them tho. Lol

I need a big bagger for the wife and gear and of course long distance comfort but am still thinking about a Fat Bob just for fun. An amazing bike. I would like to see Harley Davidson do another Fat Bob CVO, would probably seal the deal!!

Thanks for the video! I'm curious if the shop installed an HD Street Tuner as well or just installed the slipons?

No street tuner, it's not necessary unless changing you air cleaner or doing a full system

Thanks for the reply. I recently bought the 2018 Fat Bob 114, which comes stock with a hi flow air cleaner. Just today, I installed the Rinehart slipons and took it out for a test ride. No backfiring or any noticeable performance hit (although I admit my seat-of-the-pants dyno isn't as sensitive as others.) I have a brand new street tuner I purchased here in a box and am wondering if it's even worth it to break the seal and do a stage 1 map on my bike?

Honestly I would wait until you decided to do some more performance mods to your bike, would you notice a difference if you tuned it now? maybe, maybe not. Everyone is different but if you went stage 2 in the future and tuned it youd definitely notice!

I added these to my fat bob yes no tune needed but after a few hundred miles of riding I had it tuned. There is a difference the big one for me the fly by wire got much smoother. I would recommend the tune but not needed.

Fast-Action Jax Followup... So I did install the HD Street Tuner with no other mods than the slipons. Did a few auto tune runs and.... Can’t say I notice any difference. Lol

you do get a small increase in performance but nothing your really going to notice with just the addition of slip-ons.

Cool...any loss in low-end torque with slip-ons? I noticed a dip on my Fat Boy S and when I tuned I regained the tq down low.

Actually I've heard a lot of people say that the 110 is a little lack in the bottom, I havent ridden that motor enough to have an opinion on that but I see no reason why slip-ons would make you lose power at the bottom, I expect a little of the opposite most the time because the factory pipes are restrictive to meet EPA guidelines. should usually see a very slight increase, nothing extremely noticeable though.

BIG QUESTION HERE!!!... I was told at the dealership that pretty much any other brand but screaming eagle will void the 2 year HD guarantee on power train cuz HD got tired of been fined $25k per emission incident by the fucking EPA ... SO: had you asked abut this issue and your 2 year warranty ??..... thanks

As long as the pipes you put on are EPA compliant, you'll void no warranties.

Always check with your local dealership first just to be safe. I cant give you a definitive answer due to accountability.

According to my dealership, any slip on is fine but if you replace the stock headers (full exhaust) that will void the warranty. But I’d check with your own dealership first.

Robert G you will need to check with your local Harley dealership. Every dealership is a little bit different and some of the 2018 softail models have the cats inside of the slip on itself. Technically you are not allowed to remove the cats. I honestly can't remember off the top of my head if this models cats are in the slip on or not.

The cat(s?) on this model are in the middle of the exhaust next to the transmission. Rinehart says on their web page for these slipons "NOTE: These mufflers retain the stock catalyst and are 100% CARB and EPA emissions compliant."

David Malphurs sorry it's taken awhile to reply my friend. Have you gotten the info your looking for? Cause the last comment sounds a little misleading on Rinehart side. I'm not saying the Rinehart pipes don't have cats but seems unlikely. I could dig further and get a definitive answer for you

I agree that the wording on the website could be interpreted in different ways. I believe what they are trying to say is that the mufflers do not remove the catalyst (retain the catalyst), because the catalyst on this particular model is in the mid pipe. I heard these mufflers in the dealership the other day and they have a good sound. I have the S&S slipons on mine already or these would be a strong contender.

Videos/sound clips dont do much justice for the sound! I installed a set and the tone changed so much, especially when you hear it from the rear or a drive by!

I actually haven't seen it at night yet but if its anything like my daymaker it'll be insane because it has twice the LED's the daymaker has.

The headlight on this thing 100 times better than any normal HD headlight. I can finally see at night. Had a 2015 SG. That headlight sucked

The way I understand the warranty is if you have to reprogram the computer it will void warranty.

Statistically speaking at least one person has been saved by loud pipes which makes the statement ‘loud pipes save lives’ true. If you don’t like the sound of a loud motorbike ask them to turn the music up in the gay bar
