Hey, there is a song called "VVS" produced by "Opium Jai", which features some sounds that seem simple yet are very interesting. I feel like he used serum, but I'm not sure. It would be a good opportunity to teach us serum if you remade the beat (I've been trying to do so for so long I'm losing my sanity (please help))
Serum is expensive for sure, but you can get started with any of the built in synths in your DAW (live, FL, logic all have a variety of VSTs for you to mess with). The real advantages of serum are how many different options you have to link parameters, and also the wealth of tutorials like these that are out there for free.
