You are the ONLY freakin reviewer on Tube that actually played more than 2 sec of unfiltered unmodulated pure low tone. Thank You & may Moog credit you!

I watched to hear some minitaur sounds but I stayed for the solid overview of filter envelope generators genuinely pretty helpful.

Thank you for what has to be one of the most useful and easy to to follow demos of synthesis. I think I learned more in those 10 minutes than I could have hoped for.... More like this please. Now I'm REALLY excited for my Minitaur to arrive :)))

Thanks man, that was really good and well explained. I have a Minitaur coming next week and that has reminded/prepared me for its arrival and teaching my 16 year old son what's actually going on will be much more simple. Thanks loads. Lee

Wicked video Danny; I sort of understood how filters and envelopes worked by toying around with them previously, but the use of the multiscope and spectrum analyser really bring the sounds to life.

RESPECT! I very much appreciate how you showed/shared capabilities in a intro sort of way. Now I want to see a 'next step' with illustration's of the ways You enjoy using the Minitaur; Especially what you like. Even if you only do a couple aspect of what i mentioned. I would donate/pay some bucks/SteemIt/Monero to see how you functionally use this as a tool.

I have to say, your voice is very soothing, and calming (no homo lol). Anywho, good stuff, as always! I just got a Minitaur, & im gonna hook it up tomorrow & dig in... I just now started this video, so apologies if you mention this later in the video-- but I really hope it isn't a pain in the ass to get set up (since there's a software install & whatever else, along with the hardware). I'm fairly "new" to the hardware side of this stuff, and I went on a binge spending spree the other day, and also bought a rack-- along with several effects processors & dynamics processors, etc.-- a handful of modules (and a couple of guitar pedals I was planning on using with synths)-- and I'm already overwhelmed, trying to get all of this stuff connected correctly. If anyone knows a good video/channel (or web site) that goes into EXTREME depth in hooking up all of this hardware to run in conjunction with my DAW (I mean like specific-- "this goes here, and that goes there," with pics, haha-- that would be a definite plus). Long story short, I have a Focusrite 18i20, and I wanna run a Lexicon MX400, dbx 215s EQ (dual channel), BBE 482i Sonic Maximizer, a cheap Behringer multi-FX unit, & a cheap Behringer Tube Amp, and a rack mounted power conditioner/supply (and a ton of various cables)-- and idk even where to begin. Along with the few pedals, I also have the Minitaur, a microKorg XL+, Virus TI Snow, Novation Bassstation II, a Korg KP3+ (KaossPad), a Roland VT-3 vocoder, and a few Korg Volcas. I went ahead and bought a rack mounting patchbay too, hoping to be able to keep from having to switch cables constantly. I know, that's a lot of stuff (and I didn't buy it all at once-- it was mostly spread out-- the synths were, at least), but is there anyone who can point me in the right direction toward getting this stuff hooked up in the most optimal way? Thanks in advance! I'm really dreading this hahaha. And sorry for the wall of post, and the nonstop details. I was just trying to give an overview of what all I'm trying to get running "together"-- and the folks around this channel (creator & commenters) seem to be pretty knowledgeable, from what I've seen, watching these videos for a while now. Again, I'd really appreciate ANY helpful advice anyone can share, that will help me get this all working the way it's supposed to! THANK YOU!

Hey brother hope your well. Do you think you should do a video of making a few deep house presets for the moog minitaur. I have a minitaur but im totally new to it all and would love some extra knowledge :) Cheers

This is interesting I guess for techie types, but personally as a keyboard player having owned and played Moog synths since 1978, this is just WAAY over thinking it lol. ;)

Nice presentation and some useful education in it too ........ yes I have one of this and it`s a great dedicated bass edition to a multi synth setup, just wish that some Synth noob types wouldn`t slag it off based on the fact that it`s keyboard range isn`t super high & you can`t do everything on it. Time they learnt that not everything is a Jack of all trades and when for example you compare this to a Waldorf Pulse 2 ( which I also have ) The Minataur may not be an all singing Analog Synth but if you want some real Moog Analog Bass beef too then this will destroy the Pulse 2. Having said that, on a real hardware budget owning both is a very good option I think

The hidden functions are great too and I think that you can also route most/all of them to a patch on a half decent midi motherkeyboard so you can do away with the computer altogether if you are only using hardware stuff or you just wanna jam without turning the COmputer on, shweet
@Labyrinth1010
@Labyrinth1010 7 лет назад
Noiselab Project you think so? Can you do everything from the front panel? I'd rather not have to use the editor (I'm hardware based).
@WhoresOfBabylon
@WhoresOfBabylon 7 лет назад
you can`t but u can program the non front panel functions via midi cc to a midi keyboard. Not ideal but the module would be bigger and more expensive otherwise
@Fwuzeem

Nice one dude. A couple of things though that are up for debate. Moog is said 'Mogue', and Minitaur is said Mynataur; like Myan.
@SeaSqueeze

You’re right about the pronunciation of Moog but the name of the synth is spelled out and pronounced as “*Mini*-taur”. As in Mini Taurus. Since it’s an expanded module version of the Moog Taurus bass pedals.

Hi Danny I know this is a noob question but how do you get the minitaur to work with a DAW?
@alexjofer
@alexjofer 11 лет назад
Danny, do you know some plug-in to work with Ableton or Logic like a multiscope you use in Cubase?!

I had the Slim Phatty, I tried the minitaur, they just can't produce a nice full on punchy fat round psytrance bassline... It's funny how I can get one easily with VST.

Ha.. youtube Insights tells me it was someone from Moldover.. it can pinpoint the territory where likes/dislikes come from now. That narrows it down somewhat.

Very cool synth. But only 3 octaves? Why?
@Labyrinth1010
@Labyrinth1010 7 лет назад
Saar Dean there's an explanation on the Moog forums and also on Gearslutz. It has to do with the circuitry on the original Taurus pedals and the Minitaur essentially replicates that synth.
@saardean4481
@saardean4481 7 лет назад
Hmm. I see. WHat a bummer. I mean yes it does "replicate" the Taurus apart from the fact that it has a whole USB interface so it`s a pretty modernized Taurus....:-) So i hoped that they would do something for this too. Whatever. You can`t have it all i guess. Thanks for the info though
@saardean4481
@saardean4481 7 лет назад
Kill Screen have you heard an Erebus? It can rattle windows too. Actually with a bit of eq i can literally make a fart rattle windows. I asked why 3 octaves range only. Buying a second synth to complete the note range is not an argument for me
@saardean4481
@saardean4481 7 лет назад
I never said that the Minitaur does not sound great. I would just love to have it in a fullrange version. It could be a sweet-er synth. I borrowed a Minitaur from a friend. The way it is now when i start a jam based project and start building up and recording clips i find my self to always search for a second synth after a while in order to hit the higher registers. So it`s bit of a flowkiller. For drone music it`s perfect but in general very restraining. Of course for me. Others might like it the way it is.
@saardean4481
@saardean4481 7 лет назад
I am considering the Pulse 2. I find it sounds really great. I am not 100% turned on by it`s interface till now thats why i haven`t purchased one yet. Reminds me too much of working in the Daw. I had a Mopho X4 keyboard and sold it after a year cause ...too much menu diving. But sound should be first. Meditate on this i must. Pulse and a Blofeld desktop versions combine with a good controller keyboard and you have an amazing synth
