I've always been interested on how people make horror music and sounds for movies, didn't know they use a lot of instruments like that. Also, that jumpscare on the end got me good. lol
Joe should make a scary movie (providing his own spooky special effects) of him discovering that someone has replaced all his percussion instruments with brass instruments 😱😱😱
At this part 1:06 sounds like Godzillas atomic breath charge up sound effect. The ending was just awesome combining the different sounds to sound like the movies.
Okay, so I watched this at night and when you shouted BOO my heart literally stopped for a split second like bro I've been reading articles on paranormal activity lately, so I'm already spooked 😂
It's interesting how some instruments became so synonymous with their use for sound effects that they took on the sound effects name. Like the rain stick, thunder sheet, wind machine, etc
Or...you know...the instrument was designed t make that specific sound(s), lol. which is why it's named after the sound(s). It's not like someone made a wind machine just becuase, then thought it sounded like wind, and then named it after what wind sounds like. It was designed to sound like wind form the beginning, so that's how it got its name
got to play ocean drum in high school and its awesome. sounds just like the ocean when you get it going right. the video doesn't do it justice. then in college marching band some guys were obsessed with thumb-rolling (like friction sliding) every drum and vaguely drum-ish surface possible. good times!
