In UK we get a lot of news from America as well as other parts of the world.

I went to school in the UK 🇬🇧 mid 80s and a lot of topics were covered about the history of the world. Gotta say at that time the UK education system was excellent imo anyway. ❤ from D in the UK 🇬🇧

We get more US news, then news from any other country, but we see it differently.

I like that you can isolate the different parts of the track, it’s unique, at least among the react channels I watch. It really can highlight stuff like the guitar, which I had no idea slapped that hard all mixed up. You can really hear the detail in it when isolated like that.

Hi guys, great reaction as always, love the way you break things down! So here’s the thing, when you’re born in Britain you grow up watching both British & American tv shows, films & we always have news stories from there too. So we grow up already knowing all about your culture, government, economics, education etc. In America I don’t think you have the same amount (if any) shows, films etc from other countries & lot of people don’t seem to bother to educate themselves on anything. Definitely, unfortunately, a very self involved country, as you say. It’s a real shame. But it is what it is. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Keep the reactions coming guys!

Britain and America are both capitalists, and both are democracies (with differences). The two most important foundations of our societies. He writes about both governments interchangeably.

i think the reason why many of us europeans know really a lot about the current state which usa is in, is because we all have been raised with a certain, definitly gloryfied picture which was shaped through films and pop culture, but also through the help for example german got after the wwII ended.. dont know why a welsh boi like Ren did inform hisself so good, i mean i myself also am intrested in all such stuff, simply cause its somehow fascinating to see the own brainwashedness fall apart cuz USA cant any longer cover up their flaws through hollywood propaganda machiene.... the internet made that we know now, how bad it was back than, and how even much more worse it has become.... how a country, of which many as kids and teens thought, maybe would be cool to live in, gets such a bad rep, that i wouldnt consider to move there if you gave me 1 million dollar.... thing is... if you have a medical issue, a real one, like needing a heart transplant... this million wont survive for long... i woulnt give up my german social security for any money in the world... only for an similar system ;) if your kid gets shot in shool, you dont appreciate that million any longer ... but i wouldnt move to a country, where a simple walk through farmers fields could get you shot cuz of castle gun laws ... and if your kid brakes its leg it costs you all you ever had.... its not freedom.. when your kid isnt allowed to climb trees cuz of medical debt, or cant attent university cuz of poverty.. when you dont have right to roam free land, and not have the right to get insulin if your diabetic.... nearly raises the question, which rights do usa people actually have^^ a lot if they are rich , not really much if your broke and unable to provide security for yourself and loved ones.

Ren is obviously intelligent but he's not that unusual in the UK in his knowledge of American culture, politics and economics. What goes on on your side of the pond affects us over here. A lot of the issues he talks about are global issues.

It is a combination - one Ren is damn dialed in and incredibly intelligent absolutely.... but that being said, I lived in Europe for 21 years Gen X, Millennial and Gen Z Europeans are very clued in to American politics because what happens here sets reflections off in Europe - and more and more in the UK now that they decided to go it alone. One of the best groups I'm in with following the election news is actually made up of a batch of my Euro friends now that I'm back over here... and not going to lie news that isn't as steeply partisan helps (and we do get it from both directions here...)

Ren don't HAVE a genre... 'Ren' IS a genre ; ) Just think about how much musical excellence it takes to accomplish so much across so many genres in so little time. The kid is a modern Mozart, a Keats and a Shakespeare... a natural multi-talented artist! And his 'musical wisdom' runs real deep. The term 'genius' gets thrown about far too loosely these days, but I genuinely believe that, with Ren, it is well deserved. He's showing himself to be one of those once-in-a-lifetime artists and I cannot wait to see what he turns his hand to next. For example, as much as I love his music I'd really like to see him try some gritty live theatre or even pen a broadway musical, rejuvenating the medium to a modern audience with his signature edginess. We know he'd do well even in a one-man show, having seen his outstanding one-take work on the Money Game series, The tales of Jenny and Screech and Hi Ren. Nobody knows what he'll do next. Ren probably doesn't even know, LOL. But we do know that whatever it is, it'll turn heads : )

Ren lived in the United States for a bit while getting a stem cell transplant, but to be fair he was raised by people who are super socially aware in a country where the education system is a bit better than the US (not good, but better).

I love this one, RATM Ren! Have you heard Ren's song Fire yet from Freckled Angels? I lose track of what you've heard. It's audio-only but a really radio-ready pop rock song that should have been a huge hit.

Trust me, as an Australian a lot of other countries watch the U.S. very carefully because what happens there tends to reflect in our home country. We desperately want things to all be better everywhere but yeah, it's pretty global now :(

How is he so educated on (whatever topic the lyrics are about in every second song)? He was already a counter-culture teenager, and then he became BED BOUND with illness. Not that he could spend those 8 worst years reading because he was too nauseous and weak etc; he couldn't even watch a screen a lot of the time, for a few of those years. But when he was "only" just "so sick that he couldn't go out and be a normal human," and could get out of bed to hang out in his bedroom, or, on a better day, other parts of his house, I'm imagining that sure, he watched "regular" TV shows and movies, but also an awful lot of other video content that interested him, and listened to podcasts, and to music that sometimes has social/political commentary, and, when he could, read directly about stuff that interested him. I mean, and play guitar/piano/etc and write songs of course. Being chronically ill means that on good days, you're still NOT DOING WELL... but it leaves you with a lottttttttttttttttttttt of time on your hands, for activities you can pick up & put down easily as your health requires through the day. And you're so deathly BORED when you have bad days and CAN'T do stuff, that when your energy/nausea/pain lessens to the point where you can even push through it to DO SOMETHING you're interested in for even just for a short bit of time before you're exhausted/in pain from mental/physical exertion, you push through, because you don't know when the next opportunity to be in this "little" discomfort will happen.
