Great Job once again guys! I think a LOT of people watching these videos are missing one real crucial point. The Series is called Sounds like WITHOUT busting the bank. That means a lot of things. A lot of us cannot afford to have G&Ls shipped to us if our local shop doesn't stock them and can't afford Friedman Amps or in some cases, even expensive Friedman pedals! So the fact you're both willing to go through a bit of hell to get CLOSE to a sound as complex as Jerry Cantrells is amazing. I never would have in a million YEARS thought to use a Vox for AIC. I get that he is using Friedman now and that is the AIC sound but it would have been killer to see what you would have chosen if the Friedman pedal was not around. What would give you a Bognar sound? Its just really sad that if you both don't sound EXACTLY like the artist or miss what people think are the signature riffs its somehow deemed a failed experiment. My stance is "Yeah, Ok, they didn't play Wood or whatever, you see the rig they used, go get it and DO THAT RIFF if you feel you can!" Thats the best PART of these videos. You see the sound is achievable, now either mimic what you both are doing, or see if you can build a similar rig. As it was said below, I am sure this video is selling a LOT of Friedman BE-ODs! I think the OTHER thing people aren't getting is, this isn't live. You both probably TRIED all the famous riffs, thought they sounded less than stellar and said "Nah, we aint showing THAT!" But maybe you should? "How sometimes a $1500 budget sounds like s**t on Andertons TV" Just drive the point home "You can get SOME of the sounds, but not ALL of them" for $1500". I'm pretty sure Jerry Cantrell uses the Jerry Cantrell signature crybaby, not the Hendrix one. Either way sounds great guys! Can't wait to see what's next. I'd love to see this one on by busting the bank

This is my favorite episode. I've been hooked on AIC for years. Alice Unchained was my idea for an AIC cover band long before Rabea decided he wanted to be the hair from Coheed and Cambria. I said it first Claudio. .

FYI - Cantrell has his own signature Dunlop Wah pedal, the JC-95 has a side control knob for adjusting the toe-down sounds. It runs about $160 US.

Bought the BE OD and Vox wah the same day I watched this. Crazy accurate Alice In Chains sound, the Friedman transformed my amp!

To make the sound more punchy its about the micing technique, one 57 in the front and another 57 directly behind the speaker perfectly aligned and with a phase flipped, that's what gets those massive tones.
