The Boss Waza Craft amp head. 150 Watts. Boss initially put out the Craft. And the katana would just be a cheap recreation of it. But then the Katana turned out to be amazing.

This video was filmed a couple weeks ago, but we have since challenged Matt & Rabea to use a more diverse amp collection in future episodes! Ps. I’d be more upset if you didn’t use the best option. If a Chapman guitar and Boss Katana is the most cost efficient and best sounding on every single video then who cares, as long as I can find a way to sound like my favorite artists without busting the bank

There is a reason the Katana gets used a lot, it’s a great choice! Suggestion: if you don’t like it being featured: come up with an alternative; I’m seriously interested in what you can come up with:)

There is a reason the Katana shows up in so many of these "without busting" videos. It can play pretty much ANY type of music, and it is super budget friendly. If you are not expecting it to show up in these videos, you are not thinking.

I tend to agree. They always do a good job and sure the katana sounds perfectly fine, but it is becoming a bit bland. I kinda stopped watching these unless they do a 'by busting' version so we can see a variety of gear.

Popped in my ear buds, turned up the old iPhone. Listened to the gear search. Then Rabea nails the first riff and it’s 1985 and I’ve got my Sony Walkman on in World History class all over again. The Katana needs the DSL treatment on this series. This has literally turned into getting the Katana every single time and just changing guitars to suit whatever style you're doing that day and maybe adding pedals on top if there is budget left.

The Marshall DSL was taken out of the sounds like series because they used it to often and it was to predictable. Since then I think the guys have used the Katana even more then the DSL and they claim that it's okay but Katana is on its second phase or something but so is the DSL series and they did away with it from the sounds like series. It's just completely unfair to have stopped using the DSL because it got to be predictable and not do away with the Katana for the same reason and the Katana has far out done the DSL within this series.

he used to use EVH Amplifiers too, but now he uses the pedal you mentioned (which andertons do stock cos it was used in the Deftones without busting vid)

He uses the evh preset on the atomik amplifier but uses the real thing in the studio. I met him back in February and he told me. Was kind enough to have a photo with and sign my pussy melter pedal too

He actually has a new Charvel, pink with tiger stripes, it was so comfortable! The best guitar I've ever played! Awesome sounding rig. One thing that I noticed when you guys use the Katana is that you rarely show the settings on the panel. Sometimes, you guys will state SOME of the settings like saying "you're using the green boost" or maybe just "the brown sound". But it would be helpful if you could just show the settings ENTIRELY (eq, effects, amp type, vol/master vol. ratio, presence, etc.) when the Katana is used.

Some suggestions for Sound Like - Ghost - Robby Krieger (The Doors) - Brian Setzer - K-On! (It’d be interesting to see them take a shot at music from an anime, that series does have a lot of great guitar work in the songs and plus it’s pretty easy to get the gear) - Alex Lifeson By Busting (The last one was kind of lacklustre to be honest, like for this one you guys can do an ES-355 or ES-335 since Alex played those guitars pretty extensively during Rush’s early days) - Them Crooked Vultures - Neil Young - The Beatles By Busting (They could focus more on the tones of their later career on albums like _Sgt. Pepper’s,_ _The White Album_ and _Let It Be_ and get a rig for each member like a red Gibson Les Paul Standard or SG for George Harrison, an Epiphone Casino for John Lennon (not sure why they didn’t originally use it since Harrison and Lennon are both known for those guitars) and a Rickenbacker 4003 for Paul McCartney, also played by one of the All About the Bass guys like either Nathan or Lee)

ooh, i like your idea of music from an anime series! one that springs to mind would be RWBY, the RWBY soundtrack has some killer guitar work from Jeff Williams and Alex Abraham and there is live performances of the RWBY soundtrack songs on some places which could help for gear so it'd be worth a shot

It'd be pretty easy for K-On since the gear they use is pretty present (Epiphone Les Paul Standard in Heritage Cherry Sunburst and Marshall DSL40 for Yui) and sunburst Fender Jazz Bass/Fender Rumble 100 for Mio, and maybe a Mustang if they want to go the two-guitar route for Asuza), but a Sound Like RWBY sound be interesting to see what they'd go for

@uni psp well i can already plan the rig for a RWBY one Jeff's rig: Ibanez RG (he used fernandes, musicman, ESP and he does have an Ibanez now) Marshall DSL40C (he uses multi fx units live, once the Zoom G5N and another the Line 6 Helix) EHX Octavix (for the solo in Bmblb which does use a fuzz pedal if you listen closely) Dunlop Cry Baby Wah (for a majority of the solos, most notably I Burn) Tone City Tape Machine and that should be it Alex's rig: Fender HSS Stratocaster Vox AC15 Ibanez TS9 EHX POG II (for the intro to Caffeine) and that will do

Very good (even if it was the Katana again 😂). I've worked on their show. Very simple rig back when I did them. Boss DS-2, Carbon Copy delay, Boss TU-3. Into a 5150 head and cab. He was playing Kramers at the time though.
