Why oh why was this song left out of the movie? It’s so wonderful as is the young lady singing it. What a terrific voice and fabulous stage presence.

I'm doing this show for school, and our Max uses this version for reference. No wonder! You're all so talented. Excellent job!

Well done for their level for sure. She belted the whole thing! And in tune. Shocking. Would have been cool to use some head voice...but she had something to prove and she succeeded.

I still remember when my HS did this and they did this with Max, Elsa, and the Captain all singing parts of the song. Then it ended with Elsa and The Captain with Max singing “we’ll/you’ll make our/your love survive”. It became more about Elsa and The captain being mix matched lovers than being about The captain not wanting Elsa.

All of the characters are from the same country ... I don't know why the actors who play Max always seem to put on thick German accents while the other characters speak in plain English. The actress here playing Elsa has a wonderful voice though!

Fun to see this. Years ago I portrayed the Baroness in a local production. Her songs are not easy, very rangy. I had a wonderful opposite in my grouo’s Max.

The construction of this song is 100% admirable, both musically and lyrically. Lyrics are far superior to the oddly forced "bachelor dandies, drinkers of brandies" that Hammerstein put in "You are Sixteen". I would rank the music up with Rodgers' best: natural, appealing, unforced.
