Nah fuck that, they do a lot of standing around not really shooting. Its why the plasma pistol works pretty well in Reach against elites while in other games they try and actually dodge it.Combine that with low numbers and they just kinda suck.

Elites tend to not fire while you’re right up near them. They’ll often go for a melee and fail.

And the last half of The Package has wraiths, banshees, and phantoms and LOTS of infantry.

Yeah, but you can steal Wraiths without punching them to hell. Kill the gunner (usually a Grunt) and EMP the Wraith. Jump into the turret (you can do this in Reach) and the driver will hop out. Kill the driver for a pristine quality wraith, 3rd person perspective and a gun that can arc over cover.

I mean, they're almost definitely portrayed accurately in the lore, it's just that it's in relation to regular humans rather than Spartans, who are revered about as much, if not more.

@@april5054 I mean in lore Elites are compared to be equal to spartans in terms of strength, armor, and skill. The only reason in gameplay they are not to hard on normal is because of the fact your outliers in the Halo Games playing as either Chief or Noble 6 who are both labeled Hyper Lethal Vectors.... Or Halo 5 where everyone is a wimpy wiener in the campaign.

Gameplay wise they could not Have been as they are lore wise. A single basic elite was stronger then most spartans and the stronger of them could take a few in a fight with minimal injury. Hell a elite straight up picks Emile up in reach itself. The Overarching story of halo is that humaity was attacked by a far more powerful enemy and that wasn't only based on technological advancements.

It's a bit of the extra fluff I remember reading in four or five I think. One of the few instances where they closed some plotholes rather than poking open a few more.

My understanding was that the only reason the Flood didn't infect Johnson was that the Spartan-I augmentations scrambled his brain in a way that made him more difficult to infect.

@@autumngottlieb3071 nope, he had trace bits of the "reclaimer" in him, just the same as John did. His brains weren't scrambled at all. They did the whole oh, "cancer from a crate of plasma Grenades" as ONI cover for him having been a spartan 1. Contact harvest I believe also talked about it. It's the novel of the like, first official contact between humans and covenant, and both Johnson and Tartarus are main characters.

When was that retconned into a cover story? I thought it made perfect sense - he suffered nerve damage, refused treatment in order to jump back into the fight, and so the Flood couldn't understand his body's twisted structure and left him alone.

They're talking about an uncommon amount of interest in "alpha juliett juliett 20114" (Avery Johnson) from alpha20101 (Ackerson, probably?) and hotel4695 (Halsey, probably?). Near the start of the dialogue, one of them refers to the "Paris/BS" spoof, which most likely refers to how Johnson's story is that he contracted Boren's Syndrome on Paris IV. Referring to it as a "spoof" is why it sure seems like it's not true and likely the cover story for any medical anomalies he (and other Orion soldiers) exhibit on file.

Some are up to interpretation, and Jeremy is pretty busy during the recording with playing the game and everyone screaming. I like having some alternative counts to give us a more complete view

of course some people will get different counts depending on how to tally certain deaths i.e. multiple deaths in one reset, team kills, etc. For team kills I still count the death against the person that was team killed. And for multiple deaths I only count the ones that were simultaneous.

Absolutely amazing that he didn’t die while driving that forklift. He died after getting out of it.

Which, really, should mean they definitely need him to make it off Reach just as much as Chief, but... Regardless, it has nothing to do with 6's lethality. Ghost of Onyx is waaaay after Reach, I know Carter Kat Emile & Jun are technically lll’s but they aren’t Ghosts of Onyx lll’s

The explanation is that the Spartan-IIIs of Noble Team were pulled for special assignments prior to their companies' respective suicide missions. I believe that Spartan-IIIs being equipped with Mjolnir was a new idea when Reach came out, though. Also, Ghosts of Onyx takes place over a span of, like, twenty years. The earliest scene is in 2531, when Colonel Ackerson proposes the Spartan-III program.

I love to hear this! Halo Reach was my first Halo game (only ever played a bit of 3’s custom games at friends’ houses), and I’ve since played through the whole series on MCC as well as the original versions. Halo is easily my favorite franchise.

Strongly agreed! I absolutely adore the Halo series, games and expanded shiz. I had similar exposure; I played Halo: CE and Halo 3 with family members when I was far too young to actually appreciate them. Halo: Reach was my first 'true' entrance into the franchise.

Reach was also my first HALO, but I stopped playing HALO after I switch to the XBOX 1. Seeing this series tho was the sole reason for me going out n buying MCC.
