That's cause they trying to stick to their roots instead of over popularising EV's which honestly is a pursuit that will disappoint many... because like every manufacturer believes that the grass is greener on the other side with EV's well🤧let's just say it's not as green as they all claim it to be and over time by the 2030/35 deadline most will have a rude awakening like the CEO of Toyota discribed who also quit his CEO position😂 after realising that Electric will definitely be staying but it won't replace ICE and time everyone is trying to make going electric their bread and butter and ignoring and also keeping quiet about the negatives of going full electric...whilst Porsche is out here on the "Hold my beer" verge of saving Internal combustion cars by developing their own fuel whilst still trying to make real thoroughbred enthusiasts happy as well as vegan planet savers happy too😇 talk about multitasking.

lol it's because it's just a constant one-tone noise without any drama or sensation when RPM's are rising. Now the truly great sound would be when you think it's already a time to shift, but engine still have 3000 RPM more of audial experience.

It may actually be capable of 12,000 rpm for short amounts of time. Obviously it's limited in order to prolog the life of the engine. But yeah I hear it too.

From my understanding too, similar to the creation of the LFA, Porsche brought in actual sound engineers because they understand that the audio component is equally as important as the feeling of their cars. I love that attention to detail. Should specify I mean their consumer cars too :D

Mechanically and technically, there is nothing stopping them from making engines spin to 10k, 11k, 12k, etc. EXCEPT... you must keep in mind that fuel octane will be race only, cost of materials (titanium rods ain't cheap), and frequent service.

Definitely possible on regular petrol. sportsbikes rev up to 16k+ rpm on pump gas. Its just a factor of engine design. ie. oversquare vs undersquare contributing to piston speed at given rpms. And where you want the torque/horsepower to be made in the rev range.

I was visiting Weissach (Porsche Test Track near Stuttgart is located there) for Work last year. And i was Standing all the way in The city center of Weissach in front of the shops and I heard them just ripping it with a racecar up there. Now i wonder if I might have heard this. I remember testing the 991.2 RSR GTE in 2018 at Monza. It was like pure, unbridled evil. After several years of auditory boredom at the 24 Hours of LeMans, the devil entered the scene. It was something out of this world. I've always been a big fan of the Vette's sound on the Straight des Hunaudières, but when the 991 passed, all hell broke loose. It was like a 787B again.

This year I went for the very first time to a Formula 1 weekend. It was the Spa race of 2023. This was my experience on the first training day. Formula 3 training, the sound was scary loud and I measured around 103dB on my watch sitting way in the back on the Eau Rouge grandstand. Formula 2 training, was not very loud. Formula 1 training, was not very loud. Porsche Cup training, ALL HELL broke loose. I measured 108dB on my watch. 😱😱😱

The culture of PORSCHE building sports and racing cars was developed and took a set 75 long years ago. Looking back at nearly 40 years of PCA membership, it saddened me when they diluted the power of the name "Carrera" by assigning it to the normal, everyday, road-going 911 for 1984. I had to shake my head and mutter to myself as one of those new 3.2 liter 911's would drive past my targa - "That's not a REAL Carrera. It doesn't deserve to wear THAT badge of honor." It made me even more sad when Porsche further diluted their powerful image by swinging away from building only sports and racing cars - to also building trucks (SUV's) and sedans. Perhaps, at that time, the bean counters at Porsche got it right? Perhaps not. But THIS model... a model that makes you sit up, scoot a little closer to the monitor, and turn the volume knob up to full blast...and models like this GT3 R RS, strip away all the layers of money-making fluff involved in producing more sensible "commuter" models to reveal the deep, true roots of what the Porsche brand stands for. It's still there. Underneath. And I'm glad to have been around to witness this root break the surface and come into view of us loyal-to-the-end fans of Porsche.

Very nice car, but who will buy this? Arabian prince? Schmee? Even the RS is already unreachable for mid-wealthy people, some touching 400k!!. I think it's a great car for 200k tops. But the stock 911 is already close to that. So idk. kind of forced to look at second hand market if you want a 911 that is worth its money. As enthusiast I highly respect this car, as an engineering piece of brilliance, but the price just makes it impossible to even dream about it.

I love Porsches my favourite cars are the Dakar edition and the gt3rs ( it would be very nice if someone gave me a 100% discount on any one of the two cars I mentioned earlier )

Beautifully done. This beauty belongs in Le Mans and Daytona. Flat six has the distinctive sound that no other engines can emulate. It's in a class of its own.
