Our porcupine friend did not spend the summer in his winter den but now, with winter coming, he is ready to move back in. However, someone else has moved in and the two are not seeing eye to eye.
We have called around. It does not work. There are several coyotes out there. This one is the worst and has now died. Another one is not far behind him. Not able to be trapped or rescued. It is nearly impossible to catch them. Then they have to be transported in a closed cab. Then the cab has to be fumigated. Need professionals to do this. The area is over 2 hours drive from the nearest rescue center. No idea as to who could bring the animal there and as I said, there are at least two others and likely many more to come. It is a very painful sight. I have had sleepless nights over this.
Yes. That would have been so nice. Nobody lives there and it is way too remote for anybody to come and help w capturing the critter. Thank u for watching
I can tell you, I have had sleepless nights because of this poor critter. With temperatures plunges into single digits, he has not much to stay warm anymore. His leg is broken too. He does, however, still eat well. He also poops in front of the camera and leaves healthy looking scat. Mostly mice and rats are his food source and there are plenty of those rodents out there. Thank you for watching.
@@kayenta463 well, that's good news! (that he's still somehow hunting successfully) Does it have a family around? Do you think this was residual rodenticide poisoning?
@@cgrsworld there are other coyotes around. This one here seems to be alone though. There are two others not far behind him with mange being pretty bad already too. Yes, rodenticide is being used in a nearby town. A small town of 20 some people. I have talked with one of these people but she insists: only using it inside.....Obviously has no idea how this poison works. Very sad.
@@kayenta463 I don't understand how they think the poison stays inside. If rodents can come from outside in, they can carry poison inside to outside. It seems that should be obvious.
