Amazing video Robert! You did a great job summing up the 80s sound. Definitely the best time period for the guitar. So many innovations on the instrument came from that time period. I would love to see a video from you on 80s inspired legato licks. That would be awesome 🤘

"rEVERb" goes back to the 60s. We made reverb devices outta' screen door springs and cigar boxes. We made Fuzz boxes by using two amps. Plugging the "Git" into one end, raising the the volume (potentiometer) full and then plugging it into the second amp and adjusting the output. Reverb? Did you ever hear any one singer on America's Got Talent not use reverb?

All your tips to power chords are very useful. Just listen to 'Easy Living' original and then the one done by W.A.S.P. The difference is huge only with speedy power chords and yes the solo takes the cake. Sadly no video of the song is available. For lower register power chords I think Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Metallia and Slayer have used them a lot with gallops but Megadeth has a more mid focused EQ than low, so they sound different. Twisted Sister, Aerosmith, Guns n Roses, Eddie Van Halen, George Lynch, Satrianni, Steve Vai, Vinnie Vincent, Jeff Beck, Ted Nugent, RATT, Poison, Motley Crue and so many others have used middle strings for power chords. You also explained another topic in part - inverted power chord, without which you cannot play Judas Priest, Pantera at all. Good work buddy.
