That huge door panel thing looks crazy. Like some duvet. Similarly the velcro glued to the door. It can damage it as not all glue might come off or could discolor the door. I'd rather put couple hooks above the door and hang a curtain.

I even tried generally searching the internet for it. What more can you tell me about that product? Honestly, I dont see any advantages on the screw in door sweep. Unless its for an outside door, then I would screw the door sweep. regardless of it being U-shaped or not because you want it to stay in its place.
Thank you for the info ~! So with no access to the other side of the door and can't drill hole on the wall, is there any recommandation to sound proof the door? I just move to a unit with a door which the landlord use to access the unit inside the house, the door stay shut since i move in but the other side is wherer her washing machine is. And I can hear bascially everything if they are next to the door. So then i am wondering is there any method that can sound proof the door ? thanks ~!
Very nice .. but if its my villa and i have np altering the door .. what is the best option ? Will it be better if we made a door just like the fridge door ? I mean its material entering against each other and making it more stronger keeping the light/sound and even air isolated Or like the airplane doors ?
maybe sand down the edges of the door where it should stick. not much just so it is rough and should stick better. also wipe it clean after sanding so there isn't any dust left.
I tried adding that type of weather strip to my door but the door is warped so it wasn't sealing at the top and bottom but in the middle the door was pushing against the door frame a bit too much so it was a bit hard to close the door. I can change the door though and I'm going to change the door for a solid door.
Same problem for me, had to buy two different thickness on my strips since the door is so old and im not able to correct how it's placed in a good way.
@@soundproofguide as a temporary solution I'm going to use a weather strip similar to the door sweep you showed. It used to be put on old exterior doors here in Ireland. It's a metal strip with rubber gasket that presses against the door.

The heavy mat that he put on the door would be a both-way solution. From my research watching his videos and other sources, soundproofing a room from the inside out is as easy as removing most of the echoes via acoustic panels/foam and sealing gaps in your doors, because most sound that travels though walls happens due to the air waves converting to "wall waves" as the walls vibrate due to the air waves, and back to air waves on the other side. Therefore, dampening the sound waves in the air using shaped foam or acoustic panels and absorbing the sound waves before they reach the wall works well for that, as it will prevent the air waves from converting to wall waves. But sealing from the outside in requires you to instead reflect the sound waves using a heavy/dense material, because once an acoustic panel or foam is attached to a wall, it will vibrate with the wall and allow wall waves to pass through it and still create sound waves on the other side, though a small amount is still absorbed. Since you can't coat the outside of your room with acoustic panels / foam to prevent the conversion of air waves to wall waves, you have to use a heavier dense material to instead reflect the wall waves, which is harder / more expensive to do. Tbh if you're worried about the privacy of your convos, just get around $200 worth of cheap acoustic foam (that will get you 200 12x12x2" panels on Amazon) and coat the walls with them, and seal your doors. If you wanna block their convos from annoying you, find some good noise canceling headphones lol because the sound reflecting stuff naturally has to be heavy and dense, jacking up prices and installation difficulty.
