My husband is a musician and we were at a house wedding last night on an island just outside Seattle. I walked into the house to use the restroom and on their mantelpiece sat, not one, but FOUR perfect beautiful GlassyBabys. I stood there for a moment lost in the thought "if only this were a Goodwill shelf!" 😅

I’m from the Seattle area and was given a glassybaby from someone. It’s the meaning of each one that I like, as well as they donate money to different organizations. However, I agree, I too do not understand the hype. They are hand blown but nothing beautiful, in my opinion, just a basic votive tea light holder. We do have a well known glass blower in Seattle named Dale Chihuly ( no comparison to glassybaby ) who does phenomenal art work and if you ever find any of his work in a thrift store would be worth $$$$$$.

Chihuly in a thrift shop, I would 💩 my pants! Turning Stone Resort in NY had one in their atrium surrounding by armed guards. It was like 3 stories high. That is the only one I ever saw in person. Did you know he was a huge collector of native American blankets? He had a whole house filled with them.

According to a different reseller video I caught, apparently those Nordic ware flower mould cake pans can actually bring quite a lot. But I haven’t tried to sell one myself. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

You should have picked up the Nordic ware. They are really expensive new and hard to find used. They sell really well for good money when you do find them.

I found a glassy baby at my local Goodwill (Western Pennsylvania area) for .99 and sold it for 70.00!!! My heart was beating so fast when I turned it over and saw “Glassy Baby” on the bottom!!! ❤️👏👏❤️

I bought a set of 12 of those small clear glass plates from an online craft supply store a few years ago. As I recall, the whole set was very inexpensive. I use them as "fancy" food dishes for my cats.

The mosaic hurricane (right after you put the cracked dragonfly baking dish down) is worth about 50-60 (if it was retired partylite, I think from the 90s).

I don't know when it came out, but Global Fusion pieces were in Party Lite catalogs in the early 2000's...I sold PL for a few years and I bought the collection....I have since given it to my daughter as she also loves it. I just found I have so much stuff I never display and enjoy, that I felt it best to give to her.

The original “End of the Trail” is a famous bronze sculpture by James Earle Fraser. The image is used on lots of decor.

Hi girl, just a note, real Satsuma has a circle with a cross inside. That is the true mark. If you saw a real Satsuma piece, you would see the amazing quality!

That’s the Shimazu clan / family crest and not all Satsuma is marked that way. Early Kyo (from Kyoto) Satsuma is typically unmarked. Pottery with the original clan mark in blue, is extremely rare as most pieces are marked with the cross within a circle to denote quality and it has nothing to do with the Shimazu clan. 😊

They are really nice quality, hand blown. New I believe they are fairly pricey but they do donate a portion of their sales. I have found 3 in the wild and the resell value varies, depends on color

This Goodwill is priced more like my local Goodwill's, also with alot of broken things on the shelves. I rarely find anything there anymore. Idk if the goodwills in Pennsylvania and Maryland have it, but mine in Indiana all have free guest wifi. If they do, you could connect to it so you can look up sold comps when you don't have a signal otherwise.

I love watching your video's. Sometimes I wonder how in the heck you keep all of that information in your head. The owls were the 70's. I did a copy of them in an art class in 1973 in California. My mother in law hung with some famous artists like Lola Ades which she mainly did florals. Grumbacker/ Walter Foster paints and books where the in thing. Moved to Louisiana mid 70's. Painted with Grandma Moses at an old railroad station in Many Louisiana they had an art class there. Artist came up from New Iberia down south painted swamp and old cypress trees Grandma Moses joined in.

(I have an early-gen NW Bundt pan from about 1968 done in britannia metal.) Don't think that the detail would survive in a cake, though a Jell-O mold might work. 12:27 Oh, you just _know_ she's American Bisque. The idiots _would_ insist on painting overglaze without any protective coat. 12:54 It's a fermentation kit, in case you had ambition to quick-pickle things or make kombucha or something.

I went last year in July. It was unbelievably hot. Didn't find any bargains. Found some fabulous ice cream not too far away. Had a fun trip!

I have one Glassy Baby which was gifted to me. It is really spectacular. If you see one on a shelf at Goodwill, you will know it is really something special. Unusually heavy for a votive. They are signed on the bottom with their special logo etched on the side.

I stooped going to Goodwill as the prices are ridiculous. I go to Volunteers of America, a more local thrift store, and the prices are sooo much better!

Noooo!!!!! The valuable old Satsuma is not that thick !!! The true good old stuff looks more like the weight of fine china and is all over finely crazed. I have sold 3" vases for hundreds !!!

Meiji period Kyo Satsuma, typically unmarked but common design and not worth a whole lot, even without the damage, Might be worth a flip if the repair is decent. : )

@@CrazyLampLady Aww... Bless lol, that’s Awesome! Well it’s definitely old and of that period. Japan made a tonne of lower quality items for export to the west and for the tourist market that have value simply because they are antique and survived that long. I can’t see you losing at that price but go for quality and avoid damage where possible (unless it is very HQ or by a famous maker). You are welcome to send me photos of any items you want evaluating or post them to the group. Actually, I have a business idea! Is the best way to contact by email? You are trying that’s the main thing. That’s how we learn.... : )

I have the same green box, and found it at the Salvation Army thrift store. It contained a framed chinese embroidered crane on a mesh screen. The frame and stand are rosewood.
