For such a bad movie (and trilogy) the music was top notch and brilliant. Thank you, John Williams, for making the music the highlight as always. And for creating some of the best pieces I’ve ever heard.

The goosebumps at the end (2:15)...unmatched. You can argue as long as you want about the movie, but you can't deny this trailer made you impatient for it.
Nope ... no kidding ... that's my subjective opinion. I really love the sounds of John Williams, no matter if E.T., Star Wars, Indiana Jones and much more. But after this trailer sound my expectations were very high...the sequenz where the falcon fly into the crystall cave is so epic...but not like this on the original motion picture Soundtrack...unfortunately
You're reading my mind. I seriously think John Williams has dropped the ball with new SW soundtrack. It's just the same rehash he did in original trilogy. There's not a single song in new SW that could rival Duel of the Fates or Battle of heroes. Not one. It's bland and uninspired. Just like new SW itself.
Honestly, exist the version is totally clean (without effects) but sincerly, this AND I DO NOT KNOW HOW THEY MADE TO REMOVE THE DIALOGUES, is much more fantastic and emotional. I ADORE HER!!
John Williams' music is the only thing that has consistently delivered incredible awesomeness across every Star Wars movie ever made. George Lucas isn't Star Wars. Disney isn't Star Wars. Mark/Harrison/Carrie/whoever aren't Star Wars. John Williams is Star Wars.
the original trilogy was a set of good artists, and john williams just doesn't do it anymore. he surely is a reminiscence of the old formula, but damn he's just there doin' the same over and over again.
No. That's "Battle of Yavin" - which makes me burst into tears when I hear it without any visuals or sound effects. I just lose it - when I realise this passionate young composer did that on a complete no-hoper of a movie. He didn't care ... John Williams borrowed from Gustav Holst's "Planets Suite", and wrote the greatest score in cinema history.

Really interesting how Episode 7's trailer is almost entirely made up of OT music (Han and the Princess, and Binary Sunset) and that film was criticised for being too similar to the OT, and this trailer music is pretty much all new themes (except for Binary at the very end to reveal the title card) and 8 was criticised for being too different and new...
It wasn’t criticized for being too different and new, at least not by intelligent fans. It was criticized for being stupid, with a story that seemed like it was written by a six year old or someone who was mentally disabled, and the total lack of respect it showed the OT characters, especially Luke. If it was new and GOOD, then it would be praised, but it wasn’t.

@@megalodon7916 Yet the movie is pretty popular. You can make a case for it not being a good Star Wars movie, but it's just ignorant to say it's a bad movie or badly-written movie. If it was, it wouldn't have been as critically-acclaimed as it was. Not everyone has to have the same tastes as you, and you can dislike a movie without it being bad. Wonder Woman is critically-acclaimed and Man of Steel isn't, but I like Man of Steel more. Empire Strikes Back is more critically acclaimed than A New Hope, but I like A New Hope more. That doesn't mean they're worse movies.
