Ben Weinman & Greg Puciato sit down to talk about what's happening inside and outside the band, their latest collaborations, their differing yet aligned outlooks on life, music & the future.
Yeah, me too. For the past twelve years or so, DEP has been Greg, Ben, and Liam with a rotating cast of supporting characters. I didn't even know Tuttle was out until I saw them this week.
Ben Weinman is such a character HAHAHA! This video & the Sydney backstage video with Michael Starr joining in on Vinnie Paul's interview was such a crack up LMFAO HAHA!
@olemanofcury Greg (Dillinger Escape Plan lead singer) sang "Wish" with Trent & the guys onstage at Soundwave Perth in 2009. I agree with @SoundwaveFestTV.
@olemanofcury hey, i think he was just referring to the creative dynamics of the band... as in, it's a bit more democratic in dillinger, and they're more open to sharing the creative direction... whereas trent is very much the primary creative force in that band. i didn't get the impression he meant it in a negative way.
@olemanofcury There's no animosity between the 2 bands! There's a video of this performance on youtube (just realised I can't paste the damned link LOL)!
Something similar happened to me. Saw them at Hultsfred 2004, just after Miss Machine was released, and I said "this i shit music!" and left. They are now my favourite band.
ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm DID BEN SAY HES DOING SOME SORT OF COLLABERATION WITH BRENT FROM MASTODON?!?!??!!? WHERE CAN I FIND MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THISSS?!?!?! HOLY SHITTTTT
i was at that gig in italy, and yeah, sounds were terrible, you couldn't hear anything but noise. i couldn't say dillinger sucked cause, actually, i couldn't understand anything they were playing. i could say SOAD sucked big time. sounds improved, and yeah they sucked. my last soad gig. saw dillinger a couple of years laer in the miss machine tour. sounds were decent, and they were amazing. 'nuff said.
@olemanofcury Not to mention your citation is wrong as well. First off, NIN is great. With that said, Reznor HIRES a band. Has done so for years. Next, being classically trained only hinders creativity and smites curiosity. Also,it's Reznor who I'm pretty sure is incapable of playing as proficiently as the guys in DEP,sorry, nowhere near the intricate complexity. NIN has never had a Billy Rymer or Ben Weinman, but they've also never needed one because their music is much simpler, more palatable.
Haha, saw them back then with System Of A Down, standing first row. After i saw them i sweared to god never ever liking bands like thems. A year after the show i started my own HC-Band.
